Chapter 30: All Done!
Su Ran finally gave up the idea of going to bathe in the evening.
If she went in the evening, the werewolf would definitely follow, and given the current situation, letting the werewolf watch her bathe would really be a bit dangerous.
The four-eared ox brought back today should be enough for them to eat for a day tomorrow, so at least tomorrow morning, the werewolf shouldn’t go out hunting.
Su Ran thought about it and decided to wait until the morning after tomorrow, taking advantage of the time when the werewolf goes out hunting, to go to the river beach, walk a bit farther, and then take the opportunity to bathe.
She put her mind at ease and stopped thinking about this matter, instead lowering her head to look at the short-sleeved shirt in front of her, pondering what kind of boxer briefs to alter for the werewolf.
Logically speaking, boxer briefs are actually the best, as they provide coverage and the coverage is quite comprehensive.
But if she made boxer briefs, then the fabric would only be enough to make one for the werewolf.
However, Su Ran also wanted to make one for herself.
Moreover, besides wanting to make one pair of underwear for herself, she also wanted to save some fabric to make two sanitary napkins for herself.
If divided like this, it was obvious that the fabric from this one short-sleeved shirt was somewhat insufficient.
Su Ran looked at the fabric in front of her and pondered for a while, then finally picked up the scissors and cut horizontally from the underarm area of the short-sleeved shirt.
She still decided to make boxer briefs for the werewolf, because if she made triangular ones, the fabric on both waist sides would be too thin, and it would probably be stretched or torn by the werewolf within a day of wearing.
If boxer briefs were made a bit looser, there wouldn’t be these problems.
The scissors Su Ran used were also from the outdoor gear kit, meant for cutting medical gauze when injured.
But the scissors weren’t particularly large, so cutting the fabric was still a bit strenuous.
After stumbling through cutting the short-sleeved shirt into two parts.
Su Ran first took the lower part, preparing to use this part to make underwear for the werewolf first.
The werewolf’s build was the type that had solid muscles without being overly bulky to the point of looking greasy, a lean inverted triangle body shape, with a slim waist, perky hips, and long legs.
Su Ran held the piece of fabric in her hand and looked at it for a long time, finally finding the key point for cutting.
Mainly, she needed to accommodate the werewolf’s perky butt; the waist could be made a bit wider to avoid the trousers getting stuck on the butt.
If the waist was too narrow, she could add a drawstring at the waist if needed.
Having thought it through, Su Ran began to work on the alterations.
Her short-sleeved shirt was of a slightly loose fit, so if she didn’t make mistakes and waste fabric, it should basically be enough.
The piece of fabric cut off now, if directly put on the werewolf, would definitely get stuck at the hips.
Su Ran compared it at the original chest area, cut off a strip about three fingers wide, then cut this strip into two pieces and sewed them vertically together into one piece of fabric.
Then she cut the lower half of the clothes open from the middle in the back, sewed this piece of fabric on, making the overall width of these underwear nearly two palm-widths wider.
Then she began altering the crotch of the underwear.
Su Ran first cut at the original hem to form the crotch.
Then she removed one sleeve from the short-sleeved shirt.
She cut the sleeve open along the center line, then tailored it into two suitably shaped pieces of fabric.
One piece was sewn to the crotch, and the other was sewn above the crotch, providing a home for the werewolf’s little friend.
She also made small openings at the pant leg positions on both sides of the underwear, making it look a bit like the athletic shorts girls on Earth buy.
Now, all that was missing was a drawstring for the waistband.
Su Ran looked at the remaining fabric for a long time, finally cutting off the collar circle.
One collar cut open in the middle became two ropes; Su Ran sewed the two ropes together, pulled them straight to check, and felt that this length was sufficient for the werewolf’s slim waist!
Moreover, the fabric at the collar was elastic.
After finishing the underwear for the werewolf, Su Ran began making her own underwear.
When she came out for this activity, she followed the advice of the girls in the team who had participated in this kind of activity several times before and brought a pack of disposable underwear.
A pack of disposable underwear has ten pieces, and because it wasn’t convenient to change frequently in the wild, she had two left by the end.
Now, counting the one she was wearing, she had three in total.
Although in the current situation, she couldn’t just wear out and discard these two pairs of underwear as disposable ones, but this kind of disposable fabric would wear out more easily if washed multiple times.
So she still needed to save one sturdier pair of underwear, so that when these few pairs were worn out later, she would still have something to wear.
After all, she was completely clueless about how to tan animal hide. And regarding wearing body-hugging clothes made from animal hide, she still had some psychological barriers.
After Su Ran finished making her own underwear, the sky gradually began to darken.
So she hurried, sewing the remaining scraps of fabric together with the remaining sleeve into four rectangular small bags that could be manually closed.
This counted as her own homemade simple sanitary napkin.
When her period came, she could fill the bag with clean plant ash, tie the bag mouth, and it would be the most primitive sanitary pad.
After sewing these things, Su Ran breathed a sigh of relief.
The problem of not having enough clothes to cover the body was half solved.
Of course, the other half was how to get the werewolf to wear his pair of underwear.
She put her things into the backpack and stored them away, then turned her head to glance outside the bird’s nest.
The werewolf didn’t know what he went to do and hadn’t returned yet.
Seeing the increasingly darkening sky outside, a worry that she herself hadn’t noticed welled up in Su Ran’s heart.
She sat on the grass mat silently waiting, and by the way, simply sorted today’s harvest.
The salt in her pocket was extremely precious; worried that it might get crushed and spilled if left in the clothes pocket, Su Ran took out the chewing gum box and stuffed it into the side pocket of the backpack.
Then she took out the cowhide of the four-eared ox from the basket.
This cowhide wasn’t small, and it felt a bit hard to the touch; Su Ran pondered whether she could process it in the next couple of days to make something useful.
After finishing these, there really wouldn’t be anything else to do.
Although she was actually a bit hungry, with it getting dark and things hard to see clearly, plus the worry about the werewolf growing more obvious as the sky darkened, Su Ran had no appetite to eat.
She just sat on the grass mat watching the sky outside gradually turn black, and at some point, she actually fell asleep.
And before falling asleep, the last thought in her mind was that if she hadn’t encountered the werewolf in this world, she would probably be at a complete loss.
