Ultra Mage: The Weave Crashed Again at the Start – Chapter 95

Mouth-to-mouth Breath

Chapter 95: Mouth-to-mouth Breath

Elemental Essence is a very rare magical material, resembling a gemstone or colored crystal, originating from the Elemental Plane. Even its fragments are equivalent to rare quality magical items, let alone a complete Elemental Essence.

The main material of the Elemental Orb is Fire Elemental Essence. One alone dramatically boosts the power of Flame Spells, making it hard to imagine the effect of gathering all four Elemental Essences.

Tim took it very seriously. After a quick wash-up, he left with his guards and even arranged rooms for Anse and the others before departing.

Unfortunately, that Half-Dragon lingered persistently, repeatedly riding a Wyvern over the Villa’s airspace, acting extremely arrogant.

Anse decisively led his group away to avoid implicating Tim’s family.

‘Must kill him!’

He observed the surroundings, then led a few others to hide at the base of the South City Wall, pretending to be avoiding combat.

Blue Water City faces the sea to the west, with the dock crowded with Merfolk. The defenses here are the tightest, and Baron has been patrolling the City Wall.

In comparison, the South City Wall’s defenses are lax, with no Advanced Professionals, which could lull the Half-Dragon’s vigilance and perhaps trick him into flying lower.

Most crucially, this area is inland. Even if aerial combat occurs and something falls, it won’t land in the bay or among the Merfolk.

There are four Wyverns in the sky, two carrying Half-Dragons on their backs. They circle over the bay at low altitude but rarely descend below two hundred meters, mainly to intimidate.

They have a strong air of showing off their power.

Anse had already detected the information of the Half-Dragon overhead:

【Wyvern, Large Dragon, Challenge Rating 6】

【Half-Dragon, Medium Dragon, Challenge Rating 5】

‘Can take them.’

He sat cross-legged in the corner pretending to meditate, with Nolnos blocking in front of him. His hooves occasionally stomped, and every time a Wyvern flew by, he would neigh loudly at it.

‘Come down if you dare!’

Although only Anse could understand his words, Brat and the others could grasp the meaning.

We can’t fly, and our size is a bit lacking, but we can’t lose in momentum.

Anse smiled faintly, silently pulling up Nolnos’s Character Card. Experience at 715/900.

He hasn’t killed many enemies; mostly he’s coordinated with Anse in combat, gaining a bit of experience each time. Accumulating gradually, after several major battles, he’s not far from leveling up.

“There are Ballistae and Cannons on the City Wall; they don’t dare come down.” Brat observed for a moment and guessed.

“Those can’t threaten them; it’s not urgent enough.” Anse said with a light laugh.

He thought for a moment, closed his eyes slightly, and concentrated on spellcasting.

A hemispherical aura appeared, centered on him and spreading outward, growing larger. Everything it passed over was covered, soon forming a hemisphere about 4.5 meters in radius.

The light faded, the surface shifted, its color and texture mimicking the City Wall and ground, like a bunker, very inconspicuous.

Leomund’s Tiny Hut!

Brat stepped out a few paces, then retreated, discovering that inside the hut was transparent, allowing observation of the outside.

But from outside, the interior couldn’t be seen.

“This spell is great.” He said in surprise.

“So magical…” Giant Tail scratched his head.

“You can come and go freely. I’ll meditate for a bit; call me if something happens.” Anse closed his eyes, this time truly meditating.

He had consumed some mana last night; better to refill it fully for more security.

The more at ease he was, the more agitated the Half-Dragon overhead became.

“Ignoring” is the most infuriating!

About an hour later, Tim hurriedly arrived with Baron.

Baron looked at Leomund’s Tiny Hut in astonishment, his expression shifting. He had of course seen this Third Ring Spell before; a wizard friend cast it long ago, just not this large.

‘Isn’t this a spell only wizards can learn?’

He still remembered his wizard friend’s words and that clueless barbarian’s expression—subtle, yet perfectly noticeable.

Truly memorable.

Tim didn’t understand much; though surprised, he didn’t find it strange.

“Mr. Anse?”

“Here.” Anse ended his meditation, stepped out of the hut, his status basically refilled.

Baron composed his expression, took out a Metal Box and a contract, and handed them to Anse: “Mr. Anse, this is the Elemental Essence and Magic Contract you wanted. Take a look.”

Anse glanced at the contract’s content. It was brief: one Wind Elemental Essence in exchange for him defending the city for three months, with no penalty clauses for breach.

‘Three months, nice try.’

He casually tossed the contract to Brat, opened the Metal Box. Inside was a cyan-white gemstone, surrounded by faint swirling winds, automatically floating in the air.

After Dice appraisal, it was indeed a complete Wind Elemental Essence.

‘How to use it?’

He grabbed the Elemental Orb and slowly brought them close. When the Wind Elemental Essence touched the orb, the Mithril Orb trembled violently, shining brightly, instantly absorbing the Wind Elemental Essence inside.

After a hum, the orb returned to normal, now with two Elemental Essences floating inside, swirling in orbit yet never intersecting.

He re-appraised it and found the Elemental Orb had gained a new trait:

「Wind」: Your Flying Spells require no Concentration, and Flight Speed is increased.

When using the orb to cast Super Magic Spells, you can use Elemental Resonance to immediately enter Flight state. For a short time, it costs no mana and won’t provoke Opportunity Attacks.

“Great!” Anse grinned, eyes narrowing.

Baron raised an eyebrow, looking at the Magic Contract in Brat’s hand: “This…”

“One moment.” Anse activated the King Butterfly Cloak, flapping Butterfly Wings as he leisurely flew upward.

Tim was anxious: “Don’t be impulsive!”

“It’s fine.” Anse waved his hand.

The Half-Dragon seemed to sense his intent, waiting in the high altitude on his Wyvern, mouth agape revealing fangs.

Anse gave him the pinky finger from afar and shouted in Dragon Speech: “You trash, I’m embarrassed for you. Come down.”

“Ah, you crawler slower than a dung beetle! I’ve put up with you for a long time—”

The Half-Dragon roared in fury, diving on his Wyvern at extreme speed, spewing trash talk.

“You wingless fake, come on—whoever runs is a dog.”

Anse flew toward him, tilted his head back. His head transformed into a Dragon Head, Dragon Claws pointed at the Half-Dragon, in close-quarters combat stance.

The Wyvern’s massive size loomed larger, its Giant Tail swinging behind, tipped with a venomous stinger glinting coldly in the sunlight.

Distance closing, the Half-Dragon’s Single-edged Sword and the Wyvern’s tail stinger both raised.

Mana surged around Anse; the next moment, a mighty Dragon Speech erupted from his throat.

「Metamagic」+「Super Magic: Quick Cast, Escalate」+「Fear」!

The Wyvern hastily pulled up sharply, but this was a Quick Cast spell with no Omen, astonishingly fast.

A conical wave over ten meters long swept across.

The Half-Dragon and Wyvern’s expressions changed drastically, pupils dilating, eyes filled with terror, as if seeing something utterly horrifying, minds consumed with fleeing.

The Wyvern forcibly veered again, posture awkward, suddenly shedding its saddle and flinging the Half-Dragon off.

The Half-Dragon was terrified, none of his earlier arrogance left.

‘I’ve put up with you for a long time too!’

Anse retracted his Butterfly Wings; Elemental Resonance put him in Flight state, speed not inferior to the Wyvern’s, distance closing rapidly.

‘Kill the Wyvern first.’

Silver mist flashed on him, his body appearing before the Wyvern. His right claw seized its lower jaw’s flesh, hanging onto it, its saliva drenching him.

Fear still active, the Wyvern’s eyes full of panic, only thinking of escape, not counterattacking.

Anse had an idea, abandoned spellcasting, left claw gripping its nostrils, causing the Wyvern to open its mouth in pained cry.

He synchronized tilting his head back, opening his mouth, exhaling forcefully. Scorching Flame Dragon Breath burst from his mouth, pouring into the Wyvern’s maw without a drop wasted.

The Wyvern’s throat instantly reddened and heated, then burst open with large holes, wounds charred and festering, breathing like a bellows, air unable to reach its lungs.

【…Wyvern takes 82 (Critical Hit) Fire Damage, current Health 45/127】

It finally shook off Fear, but its grievous wounds made it more Alarmed, shaking its head violently to dislodge Anse.

Wary of its tail stinger, Anse let go, then endured throat strain to unleash Cold Breath. The conical Breath swept the sky, end hitting the Wyvern again.

The Wyvern panicked, stumbling erratically in the air.

Anse didn’t pursue; a frenzied Wyvern was impossible to catch.

No matter; its injuries were too severe. Its weakest spot was burned out, remaining Health steadily dropping.

Without treatment, it was doomed to die.
