Chapter 45: Rotten Inside
Xu Jingyi’s complexion changed slightly, but he quickly returned to normal.
He said with a smile, “Isn’t this what a child should do? Parents are long ill, serving by their bedside is filial piety.”
“Let’s be direct. If you want to use this opportunity to return to the Xia family, I can tell you clearly, that is impossible.” Xia Chenge had no intention of beating around the bush with them. “After finally driving you out, do you think I would easily let the wolf back in?”

“Xiao Ge!” The Old Master and Old Madam called her softly at the same time.
“I’m fine, don’t worry.” Xia Chenge turned back and smiled.
“Xiao Ge, I know that when I wasn’t home before, your aunt and your sister both did things wrong. I’ll have them apologize to you, okay? We’re all family, there’s no need to make such a scene, don’t you think?” Xu Jingyi tried his best to control his emotions and spoke to Xia Chenge as calmly as possible.

“Does Grandpa think that if Xu Jingyi and the others return to the Xia family, our lives will be better than they are now? No, he must have realized that you gave me the things. No matter what I do today, Xu Jingyi won’t let us have peace,” Xia Chenge said calmly.
She already knew Xu Jingyi’s true intentions and was very clear about what she wanted to do.
