Chapter 7: Debts Must Be Paid
“Go about your business, don’t mind me.” Xia Chenge’s attention was drawn to the prepared food, and she didn’t even look at her.
After filling her stomach, Xia Chenge carried the steaming porridge, preparing to go upstairs to feed the two elders.
As soon as she walked out of the kitchen, she saw Xia Minglan and Xu Jingyun, mother and daughter, returning from outside with large bags and small bags of spoils. The moment they saw Xia Chenge, the smiles on both their faces vanished.
“What are you doing?” Xu Jingyun dropped her things and angrily stepped forward, completely forgetting her fear of Xia Chenge while shopping. “Who let you touch my family’s things?”
“Your family?” Xia Chenge curved her lips slightly. “Call your dad and ask if he’s married into the family?”
Xu Jingyun was so angry her nose was crooked: “Xia Chenge, you shameless little bastard!”
Xia Chenge looked at Xia Minglan with a half-smile: “How did you give birth to a daughter who likes to scold herself? My dad is your brother, and your daughter calls me a bastard, so isn’t she one too!”
Xia Minglan’s complexion changed drastically, “Xia Chenge, do you have any manners?”
“Manners? My parents died so early, my grandparents have been lying in bed for ten years, and my aunt has been busy scheming to take everything from the Xia family, never treating me as family. Where would I get family to teach me?”
Hearing this, Xia Minglan instantly felt a fear of her deepest secrets being spied upon. She was still the same little waste, so why did she make people feel like she could kill without a trace while talking and laughing?
Xia Minglan grew up pampered, and even after getting married, she had never suffered any grievances, nor did she know what fear was. But Xia Chenge made her truly experience the taste of those two words!

“Shameless?” Xia Chenge softly repeated.
“You are a shameless waste, eating and drinking for free for so many years.” Xu Jingyun found the sense of superiority she used to have when bullying Xia Chenge. An idiot whose parents were dead still occupying the Xia family’s resources, why didn’t she die with them back then!
“People surnamed Xu forcibly living in the Xia family, isn’t that the act of a thief? And the thief shouting to catch the thief, who is more shameless?” Xia Chenge retorted unhurriedly.
Xu Jingyun was once again angered to the point of cursing: “My mother is also surnamed Xia, why do you say this is your home?”
Xia Chenge’s eyes turned cold, and she stared at Xu Jingyun: “When your mother got married, my grandparents already gave half of the Xia family as a dowry to your mother. What right do you have to be so bossy now?”
“Greed is insatiable, thinking that because my parents are dead, my share belongs to you?”
“Xia Minglan, I’m telling you, don’t have daydreams!”
“What doesn’t belong to you, you won’t get a single bit of it.”
“The debts you owe will be repaid one by one. I said this world is fair, you will lose what you gained!”
After speaking, Xia Chenge’s gaze swept coldly over Xia Minglan.
Xia Minglan immediately broke out in a cold sweat from Xia Chenge’s gaze. She didn’t know if she was hallucinating, but the moment Xia Chenge looked at her, she saw genuine killing intent in Xia Chenge’s eyes!
“We have plenty of time, the game has just begun, don’t rush.” Xia Chenge chuckled again, and after instilling enough fear into the mother and daughter, she gracefully went upstairs under their terrified gazes.
Xia Minglan looked at Xia Chenge’s retreating back, and a chill suddenly rose from the soles of her feet: Did Xia Chenge pretend all along? Does this mean she knows how her parents died?

To prevent Xia Minglan from harming the two elders, Xia Chenge removed a monitor from the courtyard and installed it in the elders’ room.
“Child, be careful, don’t fall!” After Xia Chenge finished installing it, she leaped down from the chair, making the two elders’ hearts leap into their throats.
“It’s okay.” Xia Chenge patted the dust off her hands and said to them with a smile, “If Xia Minglan dares to do anything to you in the future, we’ll release the video. I won’t let that beast abuse you anymore!”
“Grandfather, Grandmother, Xiao Ge only has you left. You must take good care of yourselves, okay?”
Hearing this, the two elders’ eyes welled up with tears again. If they could, they also wished they could stand up and shield their underage granddaughter. It was hateful that their bodies were not cooperating, and they could only watch helplessly as the Xia family became what it was today.
They hadn’t considered giving the entire Xia family to Xia Minglan, but thinking of their poor granddaughter, they endured all the pressure.
Even without getting the Xia family, they treated the child like this. If the entire Xia family was given to them, wouldn’t the child’s situation be even worse?

“And you?” Xia Chenge asked back.
The two elders exchanged glances. The old master said, “We are old and don’t have many years left to live. If you continue to stay here, you will be ruined sooner or later. Only by leaving here can you have a better future.”
“I won’t leave.” Xia Chenge looked at the two elders steadily. She always kept her word. Since she had already said she would help the original owner reclaim everything, there was no reason to leave.
Didn’t they say that fighting with people is endless fun?
