Chapter 114: Encountering Misfortune
The Russian land spread out clearly, the village’s pointed single-unit buildings were neat and distinct, the forests were dense and solid, and the rivers flowed like oil, seeming more viscous and substantial than any other river. All of this felt like life growing from the roots, deeply planted in the heart.
The moment the airplane broke through the clouds and landed in the charming Moscow, Qing Tian reached out and held Xia Yang’s hand, saying, “Hello, Mr. Andrei!”
A faint smile spread across Xia Yang’s lips as he returned Qing Tian’s handshake and said, “Hello, Tajiana!”
These were the new identities Situ Jingyi had given them. Both were ethnic Chinese with Russian citizenship, and even their family backgrounds were arranged. Their parents had been doing business in Russia for years, and they had grown up in Moscow, making them half Russian. However, their appearance and accents couldn’t fool everyone.
As soon as they disembarked, a plump Russian woman greeted them. They got into a taxi, and raindrops flowed silently down the car window. Qing Tian sat in the front passenger seat, constantly gazing at the brand-new sky. Even in the rain, it still presented dancing cloud formations and patches of deep blue, evoking the source of Russian oil painting palettes and the foundation of musical melodies. The middle-aged local driver steadily drove into the city of Moscow; his demeanor perfectly matched the sky.
They arrived at a house located somewhat on the outskirts. The woman chattered away in a language Qing Tian couldn’t understand at all, but surprisingly, Xia Yang could communicate with her.
Qing Tian looked at Xia Yang with curiosity.
Xia Yang explained to Qing Tian, “This auntie said if we need anything else, we can call her!”
Qing Tian let out an “oh” of realization. So she was just a warm-hearted lady. Looking around, she sighed, “Is this going to be our home from now on?”
The twilight-colored chandelier, the intricately carved curtains—everything was unrealistically beautiful.
It was unclear when the rain had stopped. Looking out the window at the sky, the blue revealed was very unreal. It was rare to see such a blue sky in China.
The woman left quickly. Xia Yang led Qing Tian to the attic, where there was a room that looked very tidy and cozy. Qing Tian smiled and said, “I really like it here!”
Xia Yang reached out and gently touched Qing Tian’s hair, saying, “As long as you like it, that’s good. If you want to go out, just tell me!”
Qing Tian nodded, then looked at Xia Yang with surprise and asked, “Do you know Russian?”
Xia Yang looked into the distance and said, “My mother is of mixed Russian and Chinese heritage. When I was with my mother before, she taught me Russian, saying that if I ever met my maternal grandmother, I wouldn’t have any language barriers!”
Qing Tian nodded blankly, feeling a bit down. She then went into the room to unpack her luggage. Although it was called unpacking, she hadn’t brought anything with her.
Before long, the two of them walked to a store to buy household items. Just halfway there, they encountered a group of people surrounding them.
Xia Yang shielded Qing Tian behind him and spoke to the group in a language Qing Tian couldn’t understand. Then, in the next moment, several people started fighting with Xia Yang. Qing Tian hadn’t expected that on their first day in Russia, Xia Yang would be back to his old fighting ways. How could this happen?
Watching Xia Yang wrestle with those men, Qing Tian’s heart sank halfway. She shouted from the side, “Stop fighting, stop it, stop!”
They exchanged punches, and Xia Yang didn’t back down. Even though they were burly white Russians, he was determined to take them down.
In less than half an hour, everyone was on the ground, with only Xia Yang left standing.
Qing Tian, filled with worry, ran up to him and asked, “Are you okay?”
Xia Yang had a bad feeling and said, “We need to leave here immediately. Situ Jingyi won’t let us go!”
Qing Tian was stunned, not yet understanding the reason. “Situ Jingyi? What’s going on?”
Xia Yang pulled Qing Tian back towards their temporary residence. As they reached the main road, a black sedan was speeding towards them from a distance.
Qing Tian’s eyes widened, and she grabbed Xia Yang’s hand, shouting, “Be careful~~~”
But before she could finish speaking, the car directly hit them. Holding hands, they were both sent flying. As they landed, Xia Yang tightly shielded Qing Tian in his arms!
Qing Tian could only hear the sound of breathing in her ears, very slow and steady. Xia Yang’s head was covered in blood, and she was bleeding from multiple places on her body.
Xia Yang spoke with difficulty, asking, “Qing Tian, are you alright?”
Qing Tian didn’t know how to answer. She was not alright, not at all. It hurt so much, so much that she could barely breathe. But she couldn’t say it. Not now. She pretended to be fine and asked Xia Yang, “You seem to be seriously injured! Are you okay~~~”
Being in Xia Yang’s embrace, for a moment, felt secure. But the sensation of hot blood flowing down was truly dizzying!!!
While they were still worrying about each other, a Russian man in black, holding a pistol, pulled the trigger and aimed at the back of Xia Yang’s head, preparing to fire!
Qing Tian’s eyes widened in terror. With a bang, she cried out loudly, “No~~~”
【 Cough, cough, cough~~~ This is the end of the first part. However, the second part will be written immediately, and it will no longer be about campus life. We, Yu and Xia Yang, will directly confront each other for Qing Tian’s sake!!! Wahaha, please collect and leave comments!! Mwah~~~~】
