Chapter 157: Countering the Move
Director Bai’s assistant pushed the door open and looked at Director Bai, who was sitting in his boss chair, saying, “Reporting, Director, President Shi says he will report you for bribing him to participate in this event and reduce his sentence!”
Director Bai indifferently smoked a cigar and snorted, “He’ll fall sooner or later for what he’s done, he deserves it! But why did this loophole appear? It was supposed to be foolproof!”
Assistant Wu also said with a troubled expression, “This news was supposed to be very secure. The police station said it was an anonymous report. The General Manager thinks you, Director Bai, deliberately framed the Chairman and is now looking for a way to save him!”

Director Bai knew what Andrei meant: “Are you talking about Situ Haonan?!”
Andrei neither confirmed nor denied. “Director Bai, since you’ve gotten the answer you wanted, if there’s nothing else, you can leave!”
Andrei’s disrespect angered Director Bai, but Director Bai dared not act out. He endured it, at least, and left with a flick of his hand.
Athena stood outside the door, calming her inner excitement and anger. It was Situ Haonan, who always claimed to support Ji Xiangyu the most, who did this. It was unbelievable. What Andrei said was very true: often, the closest people are the most dangerous enemies. It seemed Situ Haonan had already started taking action to seize the position of Chairman.

When Bruce entered, he saw Athena standing at the doorway and asked with concern, “Athena, are you looking for the General Manager? Why aren’t you going in!”

Bruce explained what had just happened. This made Andrei uneasy. Could it be that Athena had overheard them!?
