One Hundred Sixty-Seventh: Out of Control
Ji Xiangyu returned to China, dusty and travel-worn, without notifying anyone. Now, filled with intense anger, he strode towards the General Manager’s office. Everyone who saw Ji Xiangyu was stunned in place, watching his retreating figure and respectfully greeting him, “Chairman.”
But all that remained for the employees was his magnificent receding back, like a gust of wind that swept through with a whoosh!
Upon reaching the General Manager’s office, Andrei’s secretary stepped forward to try and stop Ji Xiangyu. But she had only just stood up, and before she could even utter a word, Ji Xiangyu had already violently flung the door open and charged in. His speed was so great that her half-spoken greeting, “Chairman!”
Accompanied by that greeting, Ji Xiangyu had already delivered a powerful punch to Andrei inside the office. Ji Xiangyu’s punch was incredibly strong, and blood was already flowing from Andrei’s lips. Was this enough?
Ji Xiangyu suppressed the anger within him, his eyes fixed on Andrei with a bloodthirsty gaze, as if he could see through him. This selfish man had managed to disguise himself so well.
Still not satisfied, he leaned in, grabbed Andrei’s collar, and spoke word by word as if making a vow: “Xia, Yang, are, you, alright?” He roared each word with all his might.
The secretary stood at the doorway, flustered and unsure whether to call security. It was the first time she had ever seen the Chairman shouting like this, the first time she had seen Ji Xiangyu so furious!
Before Andrei could understand the situation, he wouldn’t allow Ji Xiangyu to be so rough with him. With a surge of strength, he flung Ji Xiangyu away, touching his bleeding lip with his hand and licking it with his tongue, his expression one of wanting to beat Ji Xiangyu severely.
“Chairman, before you start hitting people, shouldn’t you explain the reason? If I’m beaten for no reason, I won’t hold back just because you’re my superior!”
As soon as Andrei finished speaking, he immediately threw a punch. Ji Xiangyu’s left cheek took the blow. After regaining his balance, he glared at Andrei and furiously yelled at the secretary, “Get out!”
The secretary trembled with fear, nervously shuffling her feet and closing the door behind her. It was too terrifying; the Chairman was too terrifying. When he lost his temper, he was like a provoked leopard!
Ji Xiangyu grabbed the document bag and slammed it in front of Andrei, saying in a cold tone, “Take a good look at what’s inside. I’m waiting for an explanation from you, Xia, Yang!” The last two words were practically spat out through gritted teeth.
Hearing the tone in Ji Xiangyu’s voice, Andrei had already guessed some of the situation. However, he couldn’t help but take out the documents and quickly scan them. Finally, he let out a cold laugh, which escalated into loud, continuous laughter.
The secretary outside the door felt a mix of confusion and bewilderment. The situation had just been one of wanting to kill each other, so why had it suddenly become so cheerful? Yet, this laughter seemed a bit sinister.
Andrei casually tossed the document bag onto the desk. “I didn’t expect the Chairman to have so much free time to investigate these matters. Congratulations on finally finding out who Qing Tian is! But what does that change? The facts remain the same, and Qing Tian won’t remember who you are!”
This was precisely what Ji Xiangyu hated. Knowing the person he loved was right in front of him, wanting to ask why, yet the other person couldn’t remember the past. It was so painful, so helpless.
Ji Xiangyu’s fingers were clenched so tightly they were almost white, his knuckles prominent. His face was a mask of suppressed anger. “As long as you tell me everything that happened, I won’t pursue this matter further. You certainly don’t want me to question Qing Tian, do you? As for Qing Tian being Athena, I need a full explanation. Five years ago, it wasn’t Qing Tian’s intention to leave with you, was it? Since you left, why did you come back? And after returning, why did you come to the Ji Family? Must it be like this?”
Andrei’s expression was grim. “I have nothing to say about this matter. However, I do have something to warn the Chairman about. Athena has never known that she is Qing Tian. If you were to reveal this or ask Athena herself, it would only cause her psychological pressure. You know why Athena is undergoing hypnotherapy, right? Do you want to personally drive Athena to her death?”
Andrei’s words were sharp and to the point. It was true; Ji Xiangyu merely wanted an explanation, an explanation for why Athena had suffered such a blow.
“Why? What kind of stimulation did Qing Tian experience? Why were she and Qing Haifeng imprisoned? Was your accident caused by Qing Haifeng?”
Andrei hadn’t expected Ji Xiangyu to investigate this matter. Some things didn’t need to be hidden. “If knowing will help you protect Qing Tian better, I will tell you. What Qing Tian experienced back then is not as simple as you see it now. If your closest relative pointed a gun at your head, could you still live with a smile? That’s all I have to say. Chairman, you may leave now!”

As he opened the door, his hand paused. Athena was standing at the doorway. Her expression looked very pained. Ji Xiangyu hesitantly called out, “Qing~~~~Athena, why are you here?”
Hearing Ji Xiangyu’s words, Andrei abruptly stood up from the sofa, looking uneasily towards the silent figure at the doorway.
