Li Mei put away the check and looked at Athena with a cold laugh, saying, “Affection? How long do you think a man can love a woman?”
Athena tried her best to remain calm and composed. “Madam Ji, are you saying this because you lack confidence in your son, or in me? Love, when it ends, naturally has things that will compensate. Please do not project your failed marriage onto the next generation; everyone’s life is different!”
Hearing Athena’s words, Li Mei became enraged. She suppressed the urge to slap Athena, her fingers twitching. “Miss Qing, you seem to know a lot? And you think you know my marriage was a failure?!”
