Chapter 207: Happiness Comes Too Quickly
The next day, Athena and Ji Xiangyu went out together. Sitting in the back seat, Ji Xiangyu said while looking at a financial newspaper, “Our wedding is set for October. I’ve already asked the planning company to arrange a wedding of the century for us. I want you to marry me with great fanfare and legitimately call you Mrs. Ji!”
Athena, who was eating breakfast, suddenly choked. Coughing and gasping for air, Ji Xiangyu quickly unscrewed a bottle of water for her and patted her back with concern, saying, “Are you that surprised?”
Athena looked at him with a mixture of laughter and tears. “Who talks about a wedding so casually first thing in the morning, like it’s just about the weather!”
Ji Xiangyu was taken aback. He smiled and kissed Athena’s face a few times. “I’m sorry, I was too eager and didn’t discuss it with you beforehand!” He then took her hand and looked at the ring. “I thought you’d already agreed, so I took the liberty of making those arrangements!”
Athena leaned into Ji Xiangyu’s embrace, her heart softening, and smiled happily. “I’ll forgive you this time, but there won’t be a next time!”
After speaking, she reached up and kissed him on the chin!
Upon arriving at the hotel, Athena and Ji Xiangyu appeared together. The incident at the restaurant yesterday had already spread like wildfire. Basically, every employee, even the uncle who took out the trash, already knew that Athena and the Chairman were together!!!
Seeing Athena and Ji Xiangyu appear together further validated the rumors. Everyone looked at Athena, standing beside Ji Xiangyu, with envy and jealousy. Their hearts instantly shattered; their dream lover had someone else, and they could no longer fantasize!
Another group of guys sighed, realizing they ultimately couldn’t compare to a rich and handsome man!
Back in Ji Xiangyu’s office, Athena tidied his suit and tie for him, saying gently, “Good luck with the vote meeting this afternoon!”
Ji Xiangyu gently kissed her on the cheek. “Wife, as you command!”
Athena’s face turned red at Ji Xiangyu’s address of “Wife.” Her shy, wifely demeanor made Ji Xiangyu laugh heartily!!
Athena gave Ji Xiangyu a glare and then returned to her workstation. Before she left, Ji Xiangyu pulled her hand back and said intimately, “Lunch together?”
Athena lowered her head, blushing, and said, “Mm-hmm!”
She then continued with her work.
While inspecting the VIP guest rooms, she encountered Shangguan Yunyan and Ji Weiwei. Ji Weiwei gave Athena a disdainful look and sarcastically said, “Oh, you’ve become the Chairman’s girlfriend and now you’re so arrogant, you don’t even bat an eye at important clients!”
Athena didn’t want to argue with her and walked away with a cold expression, saying nothing. If there were any further conflict, she would have slapped Ji Weiwei a few times or, rather, taught her a harsh lesson. However, she didn’t want to make Ji Xiangyu difficult, and at least she wanted to maintain a good relationship with him in the future!
Shangguan Yunyan added sarcastically, “Someone like her, wanting to be your sister-in-law? She’s dreaming!”
Ji Weiwei said dismissively, “Who said she’s a sister-in-law? She’s just a replacement!”
Athena’s face remained expressionless; she didn’t want to bother with these boring people! It was better to leave. She turned and walked away!
Situ Jingyi suddenly walked over and grabbed Athena’s arm, saying, “You’ve gotten so proud now that you’re the Chairman’s girlfriend? You’re practically broadcasting your relationship to the whole world in front of so many people. Don’t be foolish; he’s just playing around. When he gets tired of you, you’ll be kicked out!”
Athena shook off Situ Jingyi’s hand and said, “Then it’s not your place, as a spare, to remind me!”
She then waved the ring on her finger and said, “I’m not the Chairman’s girlfriend, but his fiancée!”
Ji Weiwei, Situ Jingyi, and Shangguan Yunyan all exclaimed in surprise at the same time: “What? Fiancée~~~”
Athena gave them a disdainful look and turned to leave. But in the next second, she was hit by a heavy object, her vision darkened, and she fainted!
