Chapter 284: Father-in-law Arrives
“I’m looking for Ye Chuxiao!” the uncle with a cold and stern aura said, his voice deep.
Lu Ziyi pursed his thin lips. He didn’t know who this person was, and behind him stood several tall, burly men in black suits, who looked like bodyguards.
Would they be a threat to Xiaoxiao? Lu Ziyi calmed his inner turmoil and said calmly, “Ye Chuxiao is not here right now. She is my assistant. What is it you need her for? I can relay the message.”
“Lu Ziyi! You’re saying my daughter isn’t here?” Ye Chuxiao’s father, Ye Jiuli, stared directly at Lu Ziyi, his eyes filled with immense worry for his daughter.
As soon as he and his wife, Zhang Chenchen, and their eldest daughter, Ye Chujun, arrived at the airport on their international flight, they called their youngest daughter, Ye Chuxiao, but no one answered.
Thinking that perhaps the young girl was still asleep and hadn’t woken up yet, they got into the car sent by the family to pick them up and headed back to the Ye Family Main Residence.
However, as they neared home, Ye Jiuli called Xiaoxiao again, and still, there was no answer. He began to feel uneasy.
His eldest daughter guessed that perhaps Xiaoxiao had gone for a morning run or was busy and had forgotten her mobile phone.

Just as the several cars picking them up were about to enter the archway of the Ye Family Main Residence, Ye Jiuli stopped the driver.
He told the driver to take his wife and eldest daughter back, while he switched to another car and went to his daughter’s school.
Ye Jiuli looked for his daughter’s teacher, her dormitory mates, and Lin Chusheng, and finally found his way to Lu Ziyi!
When he heard the name Lu Ziyi from Xiaoxiao’s classmates and Lin Chusheng, he couldn’t imagine how shocked he was!
Ye Jiuli truly, damn it, hoped it was a case of a common name, that someone was foolish enough to have the same name as Lu Xuanyu’s son!

Ye Jiuli asked sternly once more, “Is my daughter Xiaoxiao here?”
“Yes, Xiaoxiao is here,” Lu Ziyi quickly replied politely. “Uncle Ye, please come in.”
Ye Jiuli’s expression was grim. With definite news of his daughter, he relaxed slightly, but he gritted out two words for Lu Ziyi, “Liar!”
Lu Ziyi felt ashamed. He hadn’t known Uncle Ye’s identity before and, fearing they might harm Xiaoxiao, had lied about her not being present.
Ye Jiuli walked into the hall of the design studio, followed by his bodyguards who entered in an orderly fashion.
The office area was clean and tidy, but there was a blanket on the sofa meant for guests.
Lu Ziyi quickly walked over, picked up the blanket, and said, “Uncle Ye, please have a seat!”
Ye Jiuli did not sit, only asking, “Where is my daughter?”
“Xiaoxiao… is in her room.”
Ye Jiuli slowly fixed his gaze on Lu Ziyi again. Suppressing his emotions, he started walking in the direction of the corridor.
Lu Ziyi knew this would make Uncle Ye even angrier, but he still stopped him and said apologetically, “I’m sorry, Uncle Ye, Xiaoxiao hasn’t woken up yet. She isn’t… dressed.”
