Chapter 283: All These Are Kiss Marks He Left Behind

Ice was added to the cold water. In this late autumn season, the icy feeling stimulated his body, making Lu Ziyi shiver.

He sprawled himself out, his body chilling in waves, yet the heat within him continued to surge.

His head was tilted back against the edge of the bathtub, forcing himself to lie in the ice-cold water.

His body gradually grew numb from the cold, his handsome face turned ashen, and all his nerves seemed to go silent as if extinguished.

And Lu Ziyi was almost completely drained.

He held onto the edge of the bathtub, slowly supporting himself to stand up, shivering uncontrollably from the cold.

He took the large bath towel from the rack, wiped his face, and walked back into the room, seeing Ye Chuxiao still asleep in the position he had left her in.

Lu Ziyi walked over. He pulled the quilt and covered her naked body.

His fingers, as if frozen, accidentally brushed against Ye Chuxiao’s skin. The sudden icy feeling made her instinctively flinch.

Lu Ziyi worried about waking her, so he just stood by her side. Seeing her quiet down again, he turned to the wardrobe, took off his soaked clothes, dried his body with the large bath towel, and changed into a loose tracksuit.

Lu Ziyi’s movements were still sluggish due to the cold. He walked to the bedside again, sat on the edge of the bed, and looked at Ye Chuxiao’s sleeping face.

She was sleeping soundly, but not with a relaxed expression. Her delicate brows were tightly furrowed, and her soft face held a look of panic.

Her lips, which he had roughly kissed and bitten, were not as moist and swollen as before; one could even see the marks of being bitten.

And her fair, long neck was covered with the deep red marks left by his excessive force.

When he covered Xiaoxiao with the quilt earlier, he saw the mottled kiss marks on her body, which were shocking.

If he hadn’t stopped himself in time, he would have charged at her body like a beast.

It was an action he himself detested.

However, he still couldn’t hold back, causing Xiaoxiao’s body to be harmed. How much pain must she have been in then? Yet, she still hugged him without hesitation, not even a single groan of pain.

“I’m sorry!” Lu Ziyi murmured guiltily. He really, really wanted to hold her, to give her the feeling of warmth and peace of mind as before.

But he didn’t. He was too cold now; the cold qi emanated from his body in waves, and he would chill her.

Lu Ziyi felt his body was heavy and cold, his head dizzy. He grabbed a blanket from the end of the bed and went to the Hall outside.

Lu Ziyi lay on the sofa, wrapped in the blanket, still shivering.

The exhaustion made his consciousness blur quickly, and he fell asleep.

However, he didn’t sleep well. He curled up, his dreams alternating between feeling burned and frozen, tormenting him.

As if he couldn’t wake up from such panic, a knocking sound appeared in his dream, accompanied by the urgent ringing of the doorbell.

Lu Ziyi’s consciousness was disturbed and he woke up.

The knocking and doorbell sounds became clearer, filled with anxiety, ringing chaotically.

Lu Ziyi finally woke up. He slowly sat up from the sofa, put on his slippers, and walked towards the noisy door.

Lu Ziyi frowned, his mind not entirely clear, feeling muddled and groggy.

He opened the door and was startled to see a tall, handsome Uncle. His chiseled face held an angry expression, and his eyes were as sharp as a falcon’s, glaring at him with a fiery intensity.

Under the Uncle’s powerful and fierce aura, Lu Ziyi’s heart tightened. He asked, “Excuse me, who are you looking for?”
