Chapter 144: Ye Chuxiao, Don’t Force Yourself!
“This is the Advanced Mathematics test paper for first-year students at the Polytechnic University, isn’t it?” Lu Ziyi calmly emphasized the origin of the test paper again. “I wonder if student Shui has done it beforehand? How many points did you score yourself?”
“Of course… I got a perfect score!” Shui Birong looked righteous, but her voice was a little shaky.
Shui Birong attended the College of Journalism and Communication. The major she studied could be applied to by students from both liberal arts and science streams in high school. She came from a science background, so her foundation was better than others. In university, she studied the liberal arts version of Advanced Mathematics, which was easier for her to accept than other students.
However, Lu Ziyi only pointed out that the test paper Shui Birong had found was slightly more difficult for liberal arts students. He did not bother with Shui Birong’s intention to deliberately make things difficult for Ye Chuxiao.
Lu Ziyi handed the test paper to Ye Chuxiao and said, “Xiaoxiao, start solving the problems. Just write on the back page. The front page is not challenging enough for you, and writing it would be a waste of time.”
Shui Birong had no objection to what Lu Ziyi said. She had seen this test paper before. It was probably arranged from easy to difficult. It would be good if Ye Chuxiao could write half of the back page.
“Okay.” Ye Chuxiao took out a notebook and a gel pen from her shoulder bag. She folded the test paper into a quarter, used the notebook as a support, and began to solve the problems amidst the large crowd of onlookers.
Out of curiosity, the students quieted down and watched Ye Chuxiao solve the problems.
Shui Birong stared intently at Lu Ziyi, guarding against him giving any hints to Ye Chuxiao.
Ye Chuxiao solved the problems smoothly, writing them down one by one. She lowered her head slightly, and from Lu Ziyi’s perspective, she looked like a shy girl.
Her half-drooping eyelids made her curled eyelashes appear even longer. As she pondered, they trembled slightly, like the wings of a dragonfly skimming the water’s surface, gently creating a ripple on Lu Ziyi’s heart.
Lu Ziyi gazed at Ye Chuxiao as if no one else were present. The usually aloof School Hunk was now full of gentleness. In his eyes, his heart, and his world, there was only this girl.
Lu Ziyi and Ye Chuxiao did nothing and said nothing, yet the destructive power of their public display of affection was more damaging than hidden weapons!
School Hunk Lu, Ye Chuxiao is just doing a few problems, and you’re acting like she’s some kind of genius!
As for Ye Chuxiao, her attention was entirely on the test paper, appearing innocent and unaware of being showered with affection, while the surrounding single people howled like dogs, the sound of dripping blood filling the air.
Shui Birong was filled with extreme anger. She clenched her fists tightly, her meticulously manicured long fingernails digging deeply into her palms. The beautifully made-up face was becoming increasingly unable to maintain its composure, twisting with jealousy and hatred.
“Rongrong…” Chen Ke leaned beside Shui Birong and called out ingratiatingly.
He only received one word in response from Shui Birong: “Scram!”
When Ye Chuxiao reached the last two problems, she paused. Shui Birong sneered contemptuously, “What? Can’t write them anymore? No need to force yourself, you just can’t write them!”
“Xiaoxiao, think slowly,” Lu Ziyi said softly. “According to a formal exam, there is still plenty of time.”
Finally, Ye Chuxiao took half an hour to complete the back side of the test paper.
Lu Ziyi looked it over in front of everyone. Then, he tossed the test paper towards Shui Birong, a smile playing on his lips, and said, “Take a look at Xiaoxiao’s solutions. How do they compare to yours?”
