“Stop that!” Jiang Yuan frowned, scolding sternly, “Do you want to attract the villagers?”
He Yingying, illuminated by the dim light, saw Jiang Yuan’s face clearly and her eyes widened in shock, “It-it’s you…”
Jiang Yuan looked at her disheveled appearance and asked softly, “Do you want to leave here?”
He Yingying nodded vigorously.
Jiang Yuan: “Then follow us.”
He Yingying’s feet were so abraded they were bleeding, and she walked very slowly.
Si Heng glanced sideways at Chen Ziqi and said softly, “Help carry Miss He.”
“Okay.” Chen Ziqi walked to He Yingying’s side, “Miss He, your foot is injured, let me carry you.”
“No!” He Yingying was very resistant to his touch, her expression terrified, and she became agitated, “Don’t touch me!”

Jiang Yuan turned back to look at the center of the village, hesitated for a few seconds, and said, “He Yingying, I’ll carry you.”

He Yingying drank three cups of water in a row.
Just as Jiang Yuan was about to ask her if she felt unwell, Little Mo Yan, who had been waiting outside, suddenly flew in through the window, urgently calling out, “Yuan Yuan, humans are chasing us!”
Jiang Yuan’s gaze sharpened, “Villagers are chasing us!”

“Take her to the restroom.” Si Heng’s voice was deep, his expression serious, “Xiaokai and Xiao Xu, go in together.”
“Understood!” Meng Xiaokai and Xiao Xu responded simultaneously and took He Yingying upstairs.
He Lewei wiped away the bloodstains left by He Yingying, while Chen Ziqi rummaged through his bag and took out playing cards.
Jiang Yuan let the few snakes in the hall swim out, closed the door, and sat down at the round table to pretend to play cards.
Before long, the main door was knocked upon.
Si Heng got up to open the door. Village Chief Liu stood at the entrance with several men.
He glanced at them and asked casually, “Village Chief, what brings you here?”
Village Chief Liu’s gaze flickered inside the house and he explained with a chuckle, “It’s like this, a villager was bitten by a snake tonight, and I was worried there might be snakes here too, so I brought people to catch them.”
Hearing this, Si Heng raised an eyebrow and said, “Thank you for your concern, but we’ve kept the door closed. Not to mention snakes, not even a mosquito could fly in.”
Village Chief Liu chuckled again and said, “Well, since we’re all here, it’s better to take a look to be safe.”
“Alright.” Si Heng turned and sat back on the stool, “We’re still playing cards, so we won’t join the Village Chief in searching.”
“It’s okay, it’s okay, you guys be busy.” Village Chief Liu waved his hand. The moment he turned around, his eyes were tinged with a hint of sinister intent.
He led his men to search the first floor. With a grim expression, he stepped onto the stairs to the second floor.
There was no one they were looking for on the second floor either.
“Uncle!” A Cai called out, pointing at the closed bathroom door.
Village Chief Liu walked over and raised his hand to knock on the door.
“Who is it? Go to the restroom on the first floor, we won’t be that quick.” Meng Xiaokai responded from inside.
Village Chief Liu smiled and said, “It’s me. I heard there were snakes in here, so I brought people to catch them.”
Meng Xiaokai opened the door with his wet hair, “What’s wrong?”
Village Chief Liu’s eyes darted inside, “Is there anyone else in the restroom?”
“My girlfriend.” Meng Xiaokai frowned, “Stop looking, she’ll be shy.”
Xiao Xu poked half her head out from behind him, her tone tinged with dissatisfaction, “What’s going on? I’m taking a bath and you’re knocking on the door…”
“Don’t be angry, don’t be angry.” Meng Xiaokai coaxed him good-naturedly, then turned to face the Village Chief with a serious expression, “My girlfriend and I are taking a bath. What you’re doing is really inappropriate.”
After saying that, he closed the door.

Seeing them come downstairs, Chen Ziqi asked with a smile, “Village Chief, did you find any snakes?”

Si Heng’s phone rang.
He answered the call, and a hint of joy appeared in his deep dark eyes, “Good, keep in touch!”
After he hung up, He Lewei asked expectantly, “Are the people arranged by Tiannan Province arriving soon?”
Si Heng nodded, “They’ll be here in another hour.”
Hearing this, Jiang Yuan breathed a slight sigh of relief, stood up, and said, “I’ll go upstairs to check on He Yingying.”
An hour later, the newly established anti-trafficking special task force from the Tiannan Provincial Department of Public Security arrived at Yongshan Village and surrounded the entire village.
Police officers in uniform moved nimbly through the darkness, quietly rescuing kidnapped victims.
The guards near the watchtower saw this scene, their faces instantly changed, and they ran in a panic to notify others.
When Village Chief Liu learned of this, he was so angry he flipped the table.
He called the village’s main figures to the ancestral hall and gritted his teeth, “How did the cops find this place? Was it that bitch who escaped? Or is there a mole among us?”

He was handcuffed.

He shouldn’t have let these people stay in the village for such a small amount of money!
“You are the one who deserves to die.” Jiang Yuan said coldly, “You have harmed so many people, your sins are grave!”
“How have I harmed anyone?” Village Chief Liu’s gaze was sinister, “I was helping people! Without me, how many men would be unable to marry a wife!”
