Chapter 183: Do Not Close The Window Tonight
The elevator doors slowly opened from both sides.
Jiang Yuan walked out of the carriage holding the cow cat Xixi and saw the tall figure of Fugui Lai Cai.
“Streamer!” Although Fugui Lai Cai was a handsome guy who was 1.9 meters tall, he was very shy. “Thank you for being willing to help.”
“You’re welcome,” Jiang Yuan said lightly, “Where do you live?”
Fugui Lai Cai didn’t expect her to come over, so he quickly led the way, “Streamer, it’s this way.”
Jiang Yuan entered the living room and asked again, “Where is your room?”
Fugui Lai Cai continued to lead the way. His room was at the very back, very close to the toilet.
Jiang Yuan came to his room door and handed the cow cat in her arms over, “Hold her.”
Hearing this, Fugui Lai Cai immediately reached out and took the cow cat.
Jiang Yuan looked at him, and a hint of seriousness appeared between her delicate brows. “It’s like this, to protect my cat, I need to record a video to prove that I have indeed handed the cat over to you. Do you mind?”
“I don’t mind,” Fugui Lai Cai quickly shook his head.
“Okay.” Jiang Yuan took out her phone and recorded a video. She then walked to the window, peeked outside, and warned, “Don’t close the window tonight.”
Fugui Lai Cai nodded quickly, “Okay, streamer, I’ll remember.”
Jiang Yuan then looked at Xixi, a gentle smile spreading in her eyes, and said softly, “Xixi, I’m going home. Are you sure you want to stay here and help Brother Fugui?”
“Yuan Yuan, I’m sure,” Xixi nodded his fluffy head and meowed a guarantee, “Xixi guarantees to complete the mission!”
“Okay,” Jiang Yuan smiled and stroked his head, “Then I’ll be going. I’ll pick you up tomorrow.”
She placed a small bag of cat food on the table. “Later, when Xixi is hungry, he’ll bring the cat food for you to feed him. You just need to give him a bowl of water.”
Fugui Lai Cai said seriously, “Okay, streamer, I understand.”
Jiang Yuan said, “Then I’ll leave first.”
“Streamer, I’ll walk you out.” Fugui Lai Cai followed behind her.
Jiang Yuan walked a few steps and stopped, turning to look at him, “By the way, if Xixi scratches at the door, it means he wants to go to the toilet. Take him to the restroom to make do.”
“Understood,” Fugui Lai Cai nodded forcefully, and said with a flushed face, “Sorry, streamer, for causing you trouble.”
Jiang Yuan saw his face instantly turn red and slightly raised her eyebrows, “It’s not trouble.”
She remembered that yesterday a friend had sent a bullet comment saying that Fugui Lai Cai looked good when he blushed.
Now, seeing him blush face-to-face, Jiang Yuan couldn’t help but sigh inwardly: Indeed, he looks good.
Jiang Yuan took the elevator downstairs. As soon as she walked out of the apartment building, the little sparrow Mary immediately flew to her side.
“Yuan Yuan.”
“Mary, follow me.” Jiang Yuan led it to the side of Fugui Lai Cai’s room and pointed at the fifth-floor window, “Xixi is there.”
Mary said excitedly, “Then Sparrow will go find him now~”
Jiang Yuan smiled and nodded, “Mary, be careful.”
Mary dropped a “Don’t worry” and flapped her wings to rush up.
Until she could no longer see its figure, Jiang Yuan walked towards the ground parking lot.
Pei Lu drove to her older brother’s house.
“Lu Lu is here,” Fang Mengyuan opened the door for her, wearing an apron.
“Sister-in-law,” Pei Lu greeted with a smile.
Fang Mengyuan glanced at the gift box in her hand and said helplessly, “Lu Lu, I’ve told you many times, your presence is enough, you don’t need to bring gifts every time.”
Pei Lu sat on the sofa and placed the gift box on the coffee table, “My friend is traveling abroad, so she brought two sets of skincare products for us, one for each of us.”
“Then I won’t be polite,” Fang Mengyuan smiled, “Sit for a while, I’ll wash some fruit for you. My brother sent a lot of blueberries.”
“It’s okay, sister-in-law, no need to rush.”
“You sit down. If you’re polite to me, I’ll get angry!”
Pei Lu quickly sat properly.
She looked at Fang Mengyuan’s back and thought that perhaps Jiang Yuan and Cai Cai had a communication error.
Cai Cai was an animal after all, and Jiang Yuan couldn’t accurately interpret animal language every time.
People sometimes made mistakes translating English, let alone animal languages.
Thinking of this, Pei Lu suddenly felt a sense of relief.
Fang Mengyuan washed the fruit and sat on the sofa to chat with Pei Lu about family matters.
It was all about the sacrifices she made as a housewife and how difficult her days were at home.
“Sister-in-law, I know, you’ve worked hard all these years,” Pei Lu patted her hand and comforted her, “We always thought it was lucky for my brother to marry such a good woman like you.”
Fang Mengyuan sighed, “It’s a pity your brother doesn’t think so.”
“What’s wrong?” Pei Lu asked worriedly, “Did you quarrel again?”
Fang Mengyuan opened her mouth as if to speak, but her phone ringtone suddenly rang.
She glanced at the caller ID, her expression changed slightly, and she pressed reject.
Meeting Pei Lu’s gaze, Fang Mengyuan explained with an awkward smile, “A while ago I signed Xiao Xin up for two trial dance classes, and now there are a lot of spam calls.”
Hearing this, Pei Lu smiled and asked, “Is Xiao Xin going to learn to dance?”
“She’s a little interested.” Fang Mengyuan’s phone rang again, still from the same number.
After rejecting the call, she picked up her phone and stood up, “Lu Lu, you sit here, I’m going to be busy in the kitchen for a while.”
“Okay.” Pei Lu watched her walk into the kitchen, then looked down at her phone and found that a friend had sent several WeChat messages.
【 Lu Lu, the more I think about it, the more I feel you should take what that streamer said seriously. 】
【 I cram-watched a lot of her live stream videos this afternoon, and she has never made a mistake. 】
【 Also, actually, I’ve always felt that your sister-in-law is a bit strange, but I never dared to tell you, for fear that you wouldn’t like to hear it. 】
【 No matter what, it’s always good to be cautious. 】
Pei Lu stared intently at her phone screen, her eyebrows unconsciously furrowing. The calm in her heart was once again disturbed as if a huge rock had been thrown into it, and the confused and uneasy emotions surged back.
“Lu Lu,” Fang Mengyuan took off her apron and came into the living room, “I have an urgent matter to go out for.”
Pei Lu nodded, “Okay, sister-in-law, you go.”
After Fang Mengyuan left, Pei Lu hesitated for a long time, and finally got up from the sofa.
She slowly walked to the door of her brother and sister-in-law’s bedroom, her fingers grasping the ice-cold metal door handle, and then immediately let go.
Pei Lu closed her eyes and, with a burst of courage, opened the door.
Rather than being so conflicted and suspicious, it was better to find out.
Pei Lu entered the bedroom and looked around the walk-in closet but found nothing unusual.
As she was about to leave, she casually pushed open the wardrobe door, and her peripheral vision suddenly caught sight of an inconspicuous canvas bag in the corner.
Pei Lu opened the canvas bag, and her gaze suddenly sank. Inside was a small Chanel briefcase.
She had bought one of these bags last year when she traveled abroad with a friend.
Pei Lu frowned, and a thought flashed through her mind.
She restored the canvas bag to its original state and returned to the living room, preoccupied.
Based on her understanding of Fang Mengyuan, she would not buy a Chanel briefcase.
Moreover, even if she had bought it, she wouldn’t casually put it in a canvas bag and stuff it in the corner of the wardrobe. The only explanation was…
