Chapter 261: Taking Advantage Of Lunch Break To Make A Move On A Colleague
Jiang Yuan didn’t expect Lan Mei to actually be willing to let Ba Wang and it share a den.
“Lan Mei, you’ve really made me see you in a new light.” She leaned down, held the cat in her arms, and said with a smile, “There will be a reward later.”
Lan Mei said happily, “Thank you, Yuan Yuan!”
Jiang Yuan saw that Ba Wang had already mingled with the other dogs, a hint of relief appearing in her eyes.
“Let’s go, I’ll take you to eat cat treats.” She held Lan Mei and walked into the villa, “What flavor do you want?”
Lan Mei thought for a moment and replied, “Salmon!”
“Okay.” Jiang Yuan pulled open the coffee table drawer, took out a salmon-flavored cat treat, tore open the packaging, and fed it to her.
The phone ringtone on the side rang abruptly.
Jiang Yuan glanced sideways at the screen and freed one hand to answer the phone, “Si Heng.”
In the earpiece, the man said softly, “Xiaokai and the others are going to the hospital to pick someone up and bring them to the station. Do you want to come?”
“I’ll come,” Jiang Yuan said, “I’ll get ready and head over.”
Seeing her put down the phone, Lan Mei, who was eating cat treats, stopped and asked curiously, “Yuan Yuan, are you going out?”
“Yes.” Jiang Yuan touched its head, “Guard the house.”
Lan Mei’s little expression immediately became serious, “I guarantee the mission will be completed.”
“That’s great.” Jiang Yuan fed it the cat treats, went back to her room to change, “Mom, I’m going out, I won’t be home for lunch.”
“Okay.” Deng Rui, who was engrossed in a live shopping stream, responded.
When Jiang Yuan arrived at the police station, she happened to see the white-dressed girl, Su Ruoxiang, Xiao Xu, and Chen Ziqi had just picked her up from the hospital.
Su Ruoxiang’s eyes were red, and the tip of her nose was also slightly flushed, clearly having just cried.
“Miss Su, let me introduce you.” Xiao Xu took Jiang Yuan’s hand, “This is Consultant Jiang, who was the first to discover you were targeted by human traffickers last night and rushed upstairs alone to save you. Without Consultant Jiang, the consequences are unimaginable.”
“Consultant Jiang.” Su Ruoxiang looked at Jiang Yuan and solemnly bowed to her, “Thank you so much for saving my life!”
“You’re welcome,” Jiang Yuan smiled faintly, “As long as you’re alright.”
Su Ruoxiang straightened up and said with a serious expression, “Consultant Jiang, you are my benefactor!”
“It’s not that dramatic,” Jiang Yuan shook her head with a smile, “Let’s go do the record first.”
“Let’s go.” Xiao Xu led Su Ruoxiang towards the interrogation room.
Jiang Yuan went to the office to find Si Heng; a colleague said he was in the archives. She turned to go to the interrogation room to watch Su Ruoxiang give her statement.
The situation Su Ruoxiang described was exactly the same as what Little Mo Yan had said last night.
Suddenly, there was a sound of a door opening from behind her. Jiang Yuan turned her head and saw Si Heng’s distinguished face.
“Why didn’t you come to the archives to call me?” he asked.
The corner of Jiang Yuan’s lips curved into a faint smile, “Has Li He arrived?”
“Not yet, he should be here soon.”
“Okay.”
“Shall we go to my office for a cup of coffee first?”
“That works too.”
Jiang Yuan recalled that the last time she drank coffee made by Si Heng was when Xixi’s previous owner had an accident, which was more than half a year ago.
After drinking coffee, Meng Xiaokai happened to arrive at Si Heng’s office, “Boss, oh, Jiang Yuan is here too. Li He is already in the interrogation room.”
“Xiaokai,” Jiang Yuan greeted with a smile, “I came to watch you interrogate Li He.”
“Then let’s go.” Meng Xiaokai beckoned.
“Coming.” Jiang Yuan stood up, threw the disposable coffee cup into the trash can, and turned to look at Si Heng, “Let’s go.”
Meng Xiaokai and Si Heng entered the interrogation room, while Jiang Yuan and the others stayed outside, watching the situation inside through the one-way glass.
“Li He, what did you do to the victim last night at your home?” Si Heng asked.
Li He’s face was covered in gauze, and his eyes were calm, “Aren’t I the victim?”
“Why did you have your mother, Li Cuiying, help you contact human traffickers and repeatedly drug innocent girls to bring them to your home?” Si Heng’s voice deepened slightly, “What did you do to them?”
Li He sneered, “I didn’t do any of these things. Do you have any evidence?”
Si Heng stared at him, his dark eyes narrowing slightly, “Why did you draw those strange patterns on the victim?”
“Did I?” Li He tilted his head and smiled, “How would I know?”
“Li He, you’d better cooperate with the interrogation!” Meng Xiaokai warned him, dissatisfied.
A sinister look flashed in Li He’s eyes, and he growled, “I’m here with my body covered in wounds, isn’t that enough cooperation?”
Si Heng’s expression was indifferent, and he slowly said, “You registered an account on an online platform called DevilFood.”
“I didn’t!” Li He immediately denied it.
Si Heng: “Then take a look at this.”
Meng Xiaokai stood up and handed the document to him, “Open your eyes and look carefully.”
Li He glanced at the contents of the document, and his face suddenly changed, “How do you have this?”
It contained Li He’s account information and homepage content on DF, as well as the details of his overseas bank account.
“No more quibbling?” Si Heng’s tone was laced with sarcasm, “As long as you’ve done something, there will inevitably be traces left behind.”
At first, they thought this was a typical human trafficking case.
After Jiang Yuan left in the early morning, Si Heng stayed in the office. The more he analyzed, the more suspicious he found it. His intuition told him that things were not that simple, so he contacted colleagues from the technical department overnight to crack Li He’s computer and camera.
Zhang Qunxiong’s statement mentioned that Li He had an accident due to work two years ago; the real situation was that he was discovered secretly filming his colleagues.
He often took advantage of his lunch break to make a move on his colleagues, drugging them, undressing them, and taking photos to post on DF.
Initially, Li He did these things due to being a pervert, but later he was fired by the company. In an instant, he went from earning fifty thousand a month to being unemployed and unable to pay his mortgage.
Due to the missed payments, his house was forcibly repossessed by the bank, and his wife also filed for divorce because of this. Li He had to move back to the dilapidated urban village to live with Li Cuiying.
Later, Li He accidentally discovered that his account on DF had become popular, and a large number of people rewarded him, urging him to update.
Having tasted the benefits, Li He harbored a certain idea in his heart…
He used the excuse that it was too painful to vent his frustrations without a woman, and asked Li Cuiying to help him find some young girls.
DF is a website where perverts gather, with many twisted individuals who would pay Li He large sums of money to draw specific content on those young girls.
Li He was silent for a long time and said hesitantly, “I posted it online, it’s not illegal, right?”
“You are truly frighteningly ignorant,” Meng Xiaokai’s eyes were full of disgust, “Do you think that’s your only crime?”
“What other crimes do I have?” Li He frowned and retorted, “I only wrote and drew on them, I didn’t rape them! They weren’t harmed!”
Jiang Yuan listened and was speechless, muttering, “Crazy.”
She turned and walked out of the interrogation room, suddenly hearing someone call her.
“Consultant Jiang!”
Jiang Yuan saw Su Ruoxiang standing in the hall and walked towards her, saying gently, “Didn’t you finish your statement? Why haven’t you left yet?”
