Chapter 269: Why Is The Lion Thunder Crying?
The giraffe’s words made Jiang Yuan not know whether to laugh or cry.
The antelope scattered everywhere, frightened by the giraffe, while the zebras strolled leisurely beside them.
After bullying the antelope, the giraffe returned to Jiang Yuan and chuckled, “That was fun.”
“Why do you only bully the antelope?” Jiang Yuan’s gaze fell on the zebra, and she raised an eyebrow to ask, “Aren’t zebras fun?”
The giraffe slowly turned its head to look at the zebra, its tone carrying a hint of disdain: “This guy has a bad temper.”
Jiang Yuan: “…”
Even animals know that those with good temperaments are easy to manipulate?
Poor antelope.
The bullied antelope dared not retaliate. They could only privately tell other antelopes that they must stay far away from giraffes, and those long-necked creatures were very wicked.
Jiang Yuan lectured the giraffe for a while, advising them to get along well with the antelopes and not bully them.
The giraffes agreed verbally, but the actual situation remained to be observed.
Jiang Yuan stayed for a while before going to see other animals.
A road sign’s arrow pointed to a lion enclosure nearby.
Jiang Yuan walked over. Before she could see the lion enclosure, she heard the roar of the king of the jungle.
Why is it crying?
A hint of confusion appeared in Jiang Yuan’s eyes, and she quickly walked towards the viewing platform.
The lion enclosure was also a popular check-in spot for tourists, and the viewing platform was crowded.
Jiang Yuan couldn’t squeeze in, so she could only stand on tiptoe and try her best to peer into the lion enclosure through the gaps between people’s heads.
Fortunately, she wasn’t nearsighted.
Jiang Yuan saw several lionesses surrounding a lion with a thick mane.
That crying sound had nothing to do with these lions.
Who is crying?
Jiang Yuan frowned slightly and carefully squeezed through the crowd, apologizing to tourists along the way.
She finally squeezed to the glass and carefully observed the situation inside the lion enclosure, finally spotting a tail near some scattered large rocks.
Jiang Yuan moved again, and a nearby tourist glared at her impatiently.
“Why are you pushing? Can’t you just stand there and watch?”
Jiang Yuan said “Sorry,” and moved a few more steps, finally seeing the lion sitting by a large rock and crying.
Some tourists nearby were discussing it.
“Why has Thunder been roaring? Why isn’t he playing with the other lions?”
“Yeah, it’s so strange.”
Jiang Yuan listened quietly to the lion Thunder’s cries.
“Wuwuwu, I’m angry, I’m really angry!”
“How could you treat me like this? This is too much!”
“You didn’t consider my feelings at all! Wuwuwu, your hearts are so wicked and cruel!”
Thunder cried as he spoke of his sad experiences.
After listening for a while, Jiang Yuan squeezed out of the crowd, found a relatively quiet spot, took out her phone, and dialed Wei Fangfei’s number.
“Yuan Yuan?” Wei Fangfei answered her call with a hint of surprise in her voice, “Why are you calling me?”
Jiang Yuan said softly, “Director Wei, I’m at the zoo now.”
“You came over?” Wei Fangfei said with a smile, “Where are you? Come to my office for tea.”
“I’m at the lion enclosure,” Jiang Yuan explained, “I think the male lion called Thunder is acting a bit strange.”
“Is that so?” Wei Fangfei’s voice became serious, “I’ll come to the lion enclosure to find you now.”
After hanging up, Jiang Yuan walked back towards the viewing platform, gazing at the male lion Thunder from a distance.
After a while, a gentle voice called from behind her, “Jiang Yuan.”
She turned her head and saw Wei Fangfei. She raised her hand and said, “Director Wei.”
Wei Fangfei walked towards her, accompanied by a young man with single eyelids wearing a black POLO shirt printed with the words “Yun Jing Wildlife Park.”
“Animal consultant, Jiang Yuan. I don’t need to introduce her, do I?” Wei Fangfei said to the young man beside her.
“Hello, Consultant Jiang,” the young man said quickly, “Director Gu has always praised Consultant Jiang’s abilities.”
Wei Fangfei looked at Jiang Yuan and said with a smile, “This is the deputy director of the lion enclosure, Mao Jiayan.”
“Hello,” Jiang Yuan nodded slightly, her expression serious, “I heard from tourists that Thunder has been roaring?”
“Yes,” Mao Jiayan nodded, “I thought he would stop on his own when he got tired of roaring.”
“I just heard Thunder say…” Jiang Yuan repeated what Thunder had said, “He’s actually crying.”
Mao Jiayan was instantly astonished, “Thunder is crying?”
“Yes,” Jiang Yuan frowned, her fair face showing confusion, “I don’t know what he went through or who he was talking about.”
Mao Jiayan couldn’t understand why Thunder would say these things either, “He seemed fine yesterday.”
He took out his phone and called the zookeeper to inquire about the situation, only to learn that Thunder hadn’t eaten breakfast.
“I was going to wait and see if he would eat lunch, and report it if he didn’t,” the zookeeper explained hastily, afraid of being blamed.
“Was everything normal yesterday?” Jiang Yuan asked.
The zookeeper immediately nodded, “Yes, he finished his dinner yesterday.”
“Then something happened at midnight that Thunder couldn’t accept?” Jiang Yuan analyzed.
Mao Jiayan looked at Thunder in the distance with concern, “He’s usually very enthusiastic and interacts with tourists. Hiding today is indeed very unusual.”
“Is there a tour bus?” Jiang Yuan asked, “I’ll go in and talk to him.”
She wasn’t familiar with lions, and this was her first time communicating with him. It would be more appropriate to take a tour bus in.
“Yes,” Mao Jiayan looked at Wei Fangfei, “Shall we arrange it now?”
Wei Fangfei: “Yes, go arrange it. I’ll go in with Consultant Jiang.”
After Mao Jiayan left, Wei Fangfei gratefully clasped Jiang Yuan’s hand, “You came at such a crucial time.”
“I had nothing to do today, so I wanted to come and see the tigers,” Jiang Yuan said, feeling a little flustered as she felt the woman’s smooth palm.
Wei Fangfei smiled broadly, “They must be very happy to see you.”
Jiang Yuan slightly raised her eyebrows, “I’m happy too.”
“Let’s go, to the tour bus entrance first,” Wei Fangfei affectionately pulled her hand.
Jiang Yuan was a little nervous at first when the beautiful older sister held her hand, but after slowly getting used to it, her fingers even tightened slightly.
The three of them boarded the tour bus and entered the lion enclosure. The tourists in the viewing area were in an uproar, shouting at the staff.
“Didn’t they say there were no tour buses this week? What is that then?”
“I want to ride the tour bus too!”
“Where do we line up for the tour bus?”
The staff quickly explained, “Everyone, please calm down. That’s the animal consultant going in to communicate with the lions.”
“Animal consultant? Is that the girl who dared to ride on a tiger?”
“If she dared to ride on a tiger, why does she need a tour bus to enter the lion enclosure?”
“There’s a female streamer online who can also communicate with animals. I wonder if she can communicate with lions and tigers?”
“…”
While the tourists in the viewing area were chattering and discussing, Jiang Yuan had already arrived near the male lion Thunder by tour bus. The lion’s roar continued, clear but tinged with a sense of world-weariness and powerlessness.
“No lion cares about a sad lion, wuwuwu.”
“This world is a huge scam…”
“It’s over…”
