Chapter 3: Picked Up The Wrong Cat
The masked man walked past Jiang Yuan and the short-haired girl calmly, taking out a dagger with a cold glint from his hoodie pocket.
Jiang Yuan saw it.
He was warning her.
Jiang Yuan frowned.
“Is something wrong?” Qiaoqiao asked uneasily.
Jiang Yuan turned her head and saw the masked man playing with the dagger by her car.
She pressed her lips together and shook her head, “It’s nothing.”
Qiaoqiao gasped.
Little K was extremely sad, “Why didn’t you save Qiaoqiao!”
Jiang Yuan met its disappointed dog eyes, squatted down, and rubbed its head, saying in a low voice, “Protect Qiaoqiao well.”
The quiet night was filled with the sound of high heels hitting the ground.
Jiang Yuan left, and contempt and triumph flashed in the masked man’s eyes as he continued to follow Qiaoqiao.
“Save Qiaoqiao!” Little K’s cries grew more frantic, “Qiaoqiao is in danger!”
About ten minutes later, Little K brought its owner to the downstairs of home.
It looked at the masked man warily.
Qiaoqiao smiled and asked, “Why did Little K stop, are you tired?”
The masked man squatted in front of Little K and patted its dog face with the dagger.
Little K was a guide dog that had undergone strict training. It would not attack people proactively, nor would it retaliate if attacked, only enduring silently.
When Jiang Yuan arrived, she saw the masked man gesturing with a sharp dagger in front of Little K and scolded coldly, “Don’t touch it.”
Qiaoqiao gripped the leash, a flustered expression appearing on her face.
What happened?
“You dare to come again!” Veins bulged on the masked man’s forehead, and he said menacingly, “I’ll kill you first! Remember in your next life not to meddle in other people’s business!”
He charged at Jiang Yuan with the dagger, seeming to want to stab her to death.
Jiang Yuan shouted, “Bite him.”
As the words fell, several dogs in corrective training darted out, and several dogs of black, white, and yellow colors bit the masked man’s hands and feet respectively.
These were the helpers Jiang Yuan had called, and the reward was ten cans of meat.
“Damn it, where did these mad dogs come from!” The masked man cursed in pain, “Let go of me!”
Qiaoqiao didn’t know what was happening and was trembling with fear, vaguely hearing the sound of police sirens.
Little K said excitedly, “Great, Qiaoqiao is saved!”
The police arrived at the scene and were incredulous to see five dogs attacking the masked man together.
What surprised them even more was that the young woman with long, black curly hair said, “Stop,” and the five dogs simultaneously released their bites, wagging their tails to the woman.
Jiang Yuan raised an eyebrow, “Don’t worry, I’ll definitely give you the canned meat I promised.”
The police stepped forward and subdued the masked man, their gazes flicking between the short-haired girl and Jiang Yuan before settling on the latter, “Did you call the police?”
Jiang Yuan nodded, “Yes.”
The other party looked at the five dogs beside her, “Are these your dogs?”
“No,” Jiang Yuan explained, “I called them over from the roadside to help.”
Police officer: “…”
It sounded absurd, yet they couldn’t forget the scene they had just witnessed.
The masked man was taken back to the police station, while Jiang Yuan and Qiaoqiao went to give their statements together.
It was verified that the masked man had repeatedly stalked lone women, threatened them with a knife, and committed indecent assault and rape.
Learning that she had almost been killed, Qiaoqiao was filled with lingering fear and choked up as she thanked Jiang Yuan, “Thank you, I’m so grateful. If it weren’t for you, I… I can’t imagine what the consequences would have been…”
“Little K saved you,” Jiang Yuan said softly, “It kept barking to remind you.”
Qiaoqiao said she would definitely be more careful in the future and wanted to pay a thank-you fee to express her token of appreciation.
Jiang Yuan politely declined, but as she was preparing to leave, she was called to a halt by a middle-aged police officer, “Miss Jiang, please stay.”
Seeing her confused expression, Officer Lin quickly explained, “I’m just very curious, I’d like to know how Miss Jiang got those dogs to help?”
“Perhaps I have a strong affinity with animals, so they agreed to help,” Jiang Yuan couldn’t say that she had been rewarded with an animal dictionary by the system.
Officer Lin: “…”
Jiang Yuan: “Is there anything else?”
Officer Lin shook his head, “No, no.”
“Then goodbye.”
Jiang Yuan got into the red BMW.

Jiang Yuan asked while driving, “What can points be used for?”

Jiang Yuan was driving, so she didn’t study it further.
When she returned home, Jiang’s father and mother had already gone to sleep. She also felt exhausted, so after a shower, she went to rest.
The next day, Jiang Yuan was woken up by her phone’s ringtone.
It was a call from Xie Yuchen.
All the money Jiang Yuan had tricked from Fu Jinxing was spent on him.
However, in her dream, when she was in a sorry state, Xie Yuchen hadn’t helped her at all.
Jiang Yuan answered the phone, and the other party immediately asked for money, “Jiang Yuan, transfer twenty thousand yuan to me.”
“Am I your mother?” she asked.
Xie Yuchen: “What did you say?”
“Am I your mother?” Jiang Yuan asked again.
“Are you crazy? How could you possibly be my mother!”
“I’m not your mother, so what right do you have to ask me for money?”
Xie Yuchen was extremely annoyed, “Are you really sick? What’s wrong with me asking you for money?”
“Get lost.” Jiang Yuan didn’t want to waste words with him and hung up the phone directly.
She pulled the quilt over her head, preparing to sleep more, but then threw it off the next second.
Xie Yuchen had bought quite a few luxury items with the money she had tricked him out of, so she needed to see which ones could be sold.
She wouldn’t let that bastard benefit.
Jiang Yuan got up, washed up, ate some of the breakfast her mother had left, and went out.
She drove to Xie Yuchen’s residential community’s underground garage. When she took the elevator upstairs, she encountered two old women. One of them was carrying a cat carrier, inside of which was a blue cat.
“What’s wrong with Nini? The doctor said she’s physically fine, but she refuses to acknowledge me lately,” the old woman said sadly.
Jiang Yuan took two more glances at the blue cat and the next second heard it complaining.
“Why should I acknowledge you when I don’t even know you! This cat is not your Nini! The cat’s name is Princess!”
“I already said I don’t want a bath, but that idiot still wants to take the cat, and even brought home the wrong cat, making this cat so angry!”
Jiang Yuan pressed her lips together and said softly, “Is it possible that this isn’t your Nini.”
Princess immediately became agitated, “Ahhh, you can understand what cats are saying! Quickly tell her to send the cat home!”
The old woman looked at Jiang Yuan in surprise, “How is that possible?”
Princess: “So stupid, how is it impossible!”
Jiang Yuan looked at the irritable blue cat and said, “Try to recall carefully, perhaps you picked up the wrong cat somewhere.”
After saying that, the elevator stopped at the 19th floor she was going to.
Jiang Yuan stepped out of the carriage, but at Xie Yuchen’s doorstep, she ran into someone she didn’t want to see even in her dreams – Fu Jinxing.
Her first reaction was to turn around and leave.
The man’s gentle voice came from behind her, “Jiang Yuan.”
Jiang Yuan’s steps stopped. She closed her eyes, her heart pounding violently in her throat.
She turned around and forced a smile that was uglier than crying, “What a… what a coincidence.”
