Chapter 55: Find The Murderer
Jiang Yuan looked at Mrs. Liao’s eyes filled with resentment and sighed softly in her heart.
She was silent for a few seconds, then continued, “Mr. Liao discovered your ambiguous relationship with your cousin and asked for a divorce, also demanding you leave with nothing, so you colluded with your cousin to push Mr. Liao off the cliff, is that right?”
Mrs. Liao’s face showed intense unwillingness, and she said hysterically, “Yes! It was clearly him who wronged me first, what right did he have to ask me for a divorce? Why should he? If anyone should ask for a divorce, it should be me!”
Jiang Yuan gazed at her calmly, her expression serene, and said slowly, “Do you regret it?”
“Regret…” Mrs. Liao murmured softly, stunned for a few seconds, then her eyes instantly became sharp, and her voice resolute, “I don’t regret it! I only regret having loved him…”
By the end, her voice was tinged with sadness.
After a moment, Xiao Xu printed out the confession.

Xiao Xu pushed the paper in front of Mrs. Liao and said softly, “Mrs. Liao, please confirm, if there are no issues, sign it.”
Mrs. Liao lowered her eyes to look at the paper, her gaze shifting several times, as if seeing the years of entanglement between her and Liao Xingyuan through this thin sheet of paper.
She sobbed at times and giggled foolishly at others, her emotions breaking down. With trembling hands, she grasped the pen and slowly wrote her name.
Liao Xingyuan, I hope we never meet again in the next life!
Jiang Yuan left the police station and hailed a taxi to the pet hospital.
She tilted her head slightly, her gaze falling on the people outside the car window, quietly watching the pedestrians on the street. The matter of Mr. and Mrs. Liao kept swirling in her mind, and she couldn’t help but sigh with emotion.
It’s all because relationships play tricks on people.
Mrs. Liao, in her disappointment of unrequited love, turned to hatred and personally destroyed her husband, and in doing so, destroyed herself. It was truly not worth it.
This incident added a bit more psychological shadow to Jiang Yuan, and the thought of not looking for a partner or getting married surfaced in her mind.
“Miss, we’ve arrived.” The driver reminded her.
The taxi stopped at the entrance of the pet hospital. Jiang Yuan cast aside these matters that had nothing to do with her and paid the fare before getting out.
She had come to visit Mary and another little sparrow, Shasha.
Mary and Shasha’s injuries had mostly recovered, and they could fly short distances.
Jiang Yuan held the two little ones in her palms, looking at them with a smile in her eyes, “The nurse just told me you’ll be able to leave the hospital in two more days.”
“Ah?” Mary seemed a little disappointed. “You’re leaving the hospital so soon?”
“Soon?” Jiang Yuan raised her eyebrows slightly, surprised, “You don’t want to leave the hospital?”
“It’s too much fun here, and the food is good, we want to stay a few more days.” After speaking, Mary rubbed her head against her palm, with a hint of acting cute.
Shasha also nodded her little head, “There’s also TV to watch here, and that canary is so handsome, Sparrow wants to play with him.”
Jiang Yuan’s eyes overflowed with amusement, and her tone was a little doting, “Okay, since you like it, then stay a few more days.”
It’s not like we don’t have the family means.
Mary had fallen in love with binge-watching dramas at the pet hospital, engrossed in watching TV, while Shasha was having a lively conversation with the handsome canary.
Jiang Yuan found it both funny and helpless. She went to the front desk, prepaid a week’s fees, and then took a taxi home.
The next morning.
Mrs. Lou Qinglin added Jiang Yuan on WeChat, asking her to come to her house to check on the kitten.
Mrs. Lou’s house was about six kilometers from Fuze Garden. The wind was a bit strong in the afternoon, so Jiang Yuan drove the second-hand BMW out.
She reported the license plate number to Mrs. Lou. Having made a reservation at the community parking lot in advance, the red BMW entered the community smoothly.
Ding—
The elevator arrived at the sixteenth floor. It was a one-unit per floor apartment, and as she stepped out of the carriage, she saw the room door wide open.
Jiang Yuan stood at the door and asked, “Mrs. Lou?”
As soon as she spoke, a little girl carrying a Transformer ran out.
She looked even younger than Zhan Zhan and Momo, with fair skin and a pair of black grape-like eyes filled with curiosity.
Bureau Chief Lou had said yesterday that his daughter was only three years old.
“Are you Xixi?” Jiang Yuan asked.
The little round ball nodded, then wiggled her little backside and ran off, shouting in a baby voice, “Daddy’s pretty sister is here!”
The next second, a middle-aged woman with shoulder-length short hair walked to the door, smiling brightly, “Miss Jiang is here!”
Jiang Yuan smiled and asked, “Are you Mrs. Lou?”
“Miss Jiang can just call me Ayue.” Rong Yue took a pair of new slippers from the shoe cabinet and placed them at Jiang Yuan’s feet with a lean down, apologizing, “I’m really sorry to trouble you, Miss Jiang, to make a special trip.”
Originally, she meant to ask for help and should have gone to their door, so there was no reason to ask Jiang Yuan to come over. But the kitten was uncooperative, hiding as soon as it was touched, making it impossible to catch.
“It’s no problem.” Jiang Yuan said while changing her slippers, “Then I’ll call you Sister Yueyue.”
“I’m glad Miss Jiang doesn’t mind.” Rong Yue beckoned her inside. Fruit and desserts were already laid out on the coffee table, “Miss Jiang, please have something to eat first.”
Xixi stood aside holding her toy, her round eyes occasionally glancing at Jiang Yuan.
Jiang Yuan smiled and said, “Sister Yueyue, just call me Jiang Yuan.”
Mrs. Lou rubbed her daughter’s little head, “Xixi, say hello to Sister Yuan Yuan.”
Xixi called out in her little baby voice, “Hello Sister Yuan Yuan!”
“Hello Xixi too.” Jiang Yuan took a cat figurine out of her pocket, “This is for you.”
Momo had reminded her to bring it before they left.
Xixi’s eyes suddenly lit up, and she exclaimed in surprise, “Wow, what a cute cat! Thank you, sister!”
She extended her chubby little hands and grabbed the cat figurine from Jiang Yuan’s palm.
“You’re welcome.” Jiang Yuan’s eyes curved as she looked at the little ball’s delighted expression.
Fortunately, she had gained a little experience from spending more time with her two little nephews recently, so she wasn’t so helpless when facing human cubs.
“Yuan Yuan is too polite, bringing a gift for Xixi too.” Rong Yue smiled, her good impression of her growing significantly.
Jiang Yuan smiled and asked, “By the way, where is the kitten?”
Hearing this, Xixi quickly said, “Sister, are you talking about King Kong?”
Jiang Yuan blinked, “The kitten Xixi is raising is called King Kong?”
“Yes!” Xixi nodded like a little chick pecking at rice, “Brother helped me name it! It’s cool like a Transformer!”
“So where is King Kong now?” Jiang Yuan asked.
Xixi sighed with distress, “Sister, King Kong is always hiding under the bed and won’t come out! Does it hate me?”
“Xixi is so cute, who would hate you?” Jiang Yuan gently touched the little ball’s fluffy head, “Take me to find King Kong, and I’ll help you ask it why it’s always hiding.”
Xixi proactively took her hand, “Sister, King Kong is hiding here…”
Jiang Yuan followed the little ball into the guest room.
Xixi lay on the floor, looking under the bed, and said in a baby voice, “King Kong, I brought Pretty Sister to see you, come out quickly, okay!”
The kitten immediately let out a whimper, “Ahhh, you hateful two-legged beast cub, don’t call out!”
