Late at night, Jiang Yuan sat on the living room sofa hugging her knees, frowning as she recalled the content of the dream she had earlier.

Jiang Yuan got into the police car and went to Huaiyang Road.
Qiu Ailin lived on the thirteenth floor, room 1303.
Meng Xiaokai raised his hand and rang the doorbell.
Qiu Ailin had a roommate, and she hadn’t returned when the incident happened yesterday because she was on the night shift.
The door opened from the inside, and a woman with short hair saw Jiang Yuan, surprise flashing in her eyes.

Before Jiang Yuan could answer, Meng Xiaokai asked with surprise, “Do you know each other?”
Dai Ruofei only then realized that Jiang Yuan had come with the police. Her eyes flickered slightly, and then she exclaimed in surprise, “Is the murderer Jiang Yuan?”

Jiang Yuan looked around the entire house, her gaze finally landing on the ecological turtle tank in the corner of the wall.
As she squatted down, she asked, “Who raised this Red-eared Slider?”
“It’s Qiu Ailin’s.” Hearing her ask such a baffling question, Dai Ruofei thought she wasn’t professional at all.
She was probably hooking up with some powerful man and got a bogus consultant title to get paid for nothing.
“Okay,” Jiang Yuan nodded and picked up the turtle tank, “Let’s go.”
“You’re leaving already?” Dai Ruofei looked incredulous.
Watching Jiang Yuan and her group leave, Dai Ruofei became even more convinced that she was just a nominal consultant getting paid for nothing, and a hint of jealousy arose in her heart.
Back in the car, Jiang Yuan frowned and asked, “Can I see Dai Ruofei’s statement?”
“Wait a moment,” Xiao Xu pulled it up and handed her the phone, “Here.”
“Thank you,” Jiang Yuan took the phone and began to read it seriously.
Dai Ruofei had just finished her shift and was on her way home when Qiu Ailin fell, providing her with a solid alibi.
She mentioned that Qiu Ailin had been in a bad mood recently, seemingly because she owed a lot of credit card debt and had no money to repay it. She often cried in her room and would often lose her temper and break things.

Back at the station, Meng Xiaokai helped Jiang Yuan carry the turtle tank to the conference room and then took out his notebook and sat down.

Meng Xiaokai chuckled and explained, “Director Lou said that the animals’ statements also need to be recorded.”
Jiang Yuan raised an eyebrow slightly, her gaze falling on the palm-sized Red-eared Slider in the turtle tank.
It was lying on the pebbles, looking lazy.
Just as Jiang Yuan was about to speak to it, she suddenly heard a sigh.
“Alas, life is hard, the turtle sighs—”
She sat on a stool, looking at the Red-eared Slider at eye level, and said with a smile, “Why is life hard for you, turtle?”
As if hearing her voice, the Red-eared Slider slowly turned its head to look at her, somewhat surprised, “Two-legged beast? You can understand the turtle’s language?”
Jiang Yuan nodded, “I can understand, but you can’t call me a two-legged beast.”
Red-eared Slider: “Then what should I call you?”
“My name is Jiang Yuan, what’s your name?”

“Then I’ll call you Turtle,” Jiang Yuan thought for a moment and asked, “Do you know Qiu Ailin?”
