An Unorthodox Cultivation Insight – Chapter 160

A Single Thought, A Flower Blooms

Chapter 160: A Single Thought, A Flower Blooms

After explaining these two problems to the child, the boy reviewed his past, specifically his application of Qi before his enlightenment.

One time, the boy took Wang Fei and Gouzi to eat. On the way back, the boy and Wang Fei walked side-by-side on the sidewalk, while Gouzi was by the side of the road.

Six bare-chested young men from across the street, arranged in two rows, were walking towards the boy.

The boy had just finished drinking and had had quite a bit. His inherent rascally demeanor leaked out, and he walked like a rogue, not like a good person.

As the six men approached, Wang Fei was scared and let out a shout, then ran off instantly onto the road.

The boy frowned slightly, “Hmm?”

He glanced at Wang Fei but said nothing, arrogantly and domineeringly tilting his head slightly, exuding a fierce aura that seemed to say he’d devour anyone who dared to show off.

He directly walked towards the six men aggressively. As they approached, the men looked at him. He glared back, and seeing this, the six men quickly made way and dodged away.

Afterwards, the boy asked Wang Fei, “What were you afraid of? I’m here, what are you afraid of? Who would dare touch you, what then?”

Wang Fei said, “It was just too scary, there were six of them, and they were all bare-chested.”

“More people are scary? Bare chests are scary? Didn’t he still have to make way for me?”

Although he said it so lightly, at that time, an ordinary person would have been genuinely intimidated. Furthermore, under normal circumstances, the boy disliked conflict and wouldn’t casually reveal such fierceness. It was only seeing Wang Fei scared that made him a little unhappy.

It was like when the boy and Wang Fei were walking on the road, and a drunk man was sitting by the roadside yelling, “Hey~! Hey! Where are you going?”

The boy glanced at him and paid him no attention. The man, not giving up, looked at Wang Fei and continued yelling, “Hey~! Where are you going? Come back~!”

The boy looked back; it was just him and Wang Fei on the road. There was no one else. A sense of unhappiness washed over him. He frowned and walked directly up to the drunk man, his voice cold and questioning, “Who are you calling?”

The drunk man glanced at the boy, then at Wang Fei.

Seeing the man didn’t speak and still dared to look at Wang Fei, the boy asked again, “I’m asking you, who are you calling?”

The drunk man saw the fierce glint in the boy’s eyes and immediately backed down, saying, “Sorry, buddy, I, I mistook you for someone else.”

Hearing this, the boy said lightly, “It’s nothing.” He then stopped bothering with him.

After these two incidents, one day the boy and two buddies went drinking and planned to go karaoke.

On the way, they had to pass through a very narrow alley. A group of bare-chested guys with dragon and tiger tattoos were sitting at a large table. Two were standing in the middle of the alley, blocking the boy’s path.

The boy placed his hand on Wang Fei’s shoulder, put his arm around her, and smiled sinisterly. His gaze swept over everyone, finally landing on the two men in front. A fierce glint flashed in his eyes as he looked at them, and the two men consciously moved aside.

After arriving at the KTV room, the boy asked Wang Fei, “Why weren’t you startled this time?”

Wang Fei giggled, “Because you were here, I wasn’t scared.”

Hearing this, the boy smiled.

These were just a few incidents after he and Wang Fei got together. The boy had done many similar things before.

He remembered when he and Seventy-Six rented a place. They didn’t do much; after dinner, they just lay on the bed and browsed their phones. The neighbors downstairs kept coming up, saying they felt it was very noisy. The boy was always polite, saying he would try to be careful. However, after thinking about it, he couldn’t figure out how they were disturbing the downstairs neighbors without jumping around. Nevertheless, he was very careful, trying not to make too much noise at night.

Later, when they came again, the boy even brought the Elder Sister from downstairs into the room to look, but there was simply nothing that could have made such a loud noise.

Seeing that the boy was kind but hadn’t solved the problem, the Elder Sister, along with her husband, came to find him again, shouting at the doorway about this and that. The boy remained happy and cheerful.

However, Seventy-Six and another girl sharing the apartment started arguing with the Elder Sister.

The Big Brother from downstairs, seeing his Wife couldn’t win the argument, menacingly confronted Seventy-Six and the other girl.

The boy’s smile instantly vanished. He frowned, looking at the Big Brother, his tone laced with coldness, “Big Brother, can you speak properly?”

This scene startled the Big Brother and his wife. The Big Brother immediately retracted his fierce demeanor and apologized to the boy, “Sorry, brother, uh, I, I got a little excited.”

Seeing that the man had become compliant, the boy dropped his cold expression and said with a smile, “Oh dear, it’s nothing. I didn’t mean anything else. We’re all neighbors here. If there’s something, let’s talk about it and solve the problem, right?”

“That’s right, that’s right, Younger Brother, you’re right.”

There were many more such incidents, not just with people. Once, when the boy and Wang Fei were walking at night, a large dog from a house started barking furiously. The boy suddenly unleashed his Qi and reprimanded it a couple of times, and the dog instantly stopped barking. Wang Fei saw this with her own eyes.

Some dogs are also not okay; stupid dogs are not okay. For example, when the boy’s father wanted a dog, it would bark non-stop every time the boy came home, and the dog got beaten by the boy many times. Hahahaha.

For the boy later on, these incidents didn’t make him think about how powerful he was. Instead, he would smile wryly at his past self.

However, it was precisely because of those experiences that he learned to project and retract his Qi.

Now, he tries to be accommodating to others and doesn’t engage in pointless quarrels.

But if the need arises, hehehe, he can instantly transform into an angry Vajra form.

For example, if someone is unreasonable and tries to force their subjective will onto the boy, the boy will either ignore them or give them a “little Vajra.”

If he encounters someone reasonable who realizes they might have spoken too much and becomes polite, the boy won’t argue. He will still treat them with courtesy and won’t dwell on past matters.

Because such people can immediately perceive and shift, rather than stubbornly sticking to their self-righteousness, this demonstrates the principle that correcting mistakes leads to great virtue. It is also the ability to resist being controlled by one’s ego or habitual thinking. Isn’t this sowing a kind of good affinity for oneself?

As the saying goes, “Heavy rain does not nourish rootless grass; Daoist methods do not save those without affinity.”

Whether there is affinity is simple to see. First, it depends on whether one can understand. If one can understand, it is a form of affinity. This is called hearing Buddhist Dharma. It’s not about listening to someone recite sutras, making noise without understanding and thinking it’s magical. That’s like listening to the Golden Fillet spell, isn’t it? Hahahaha.

Buddhist Dharma is about understanding principles; it is also called the method of enlightenment and understanding.

The deeper the affinity, the more one can grasp one’s own principles in various matters. Grasping them means achieving enlightenment.

If the affinity is shallower and understanding is slower, but due to persistent listening and comprehension, this perseverance will also deepen over time.

There is only one type of person who has no affinity with Buddhist Dharma. These people see principles but don’t recognize them, see the Dharma but don’t recognize the Dharma, see the Buddha but don’t know the Buddha. They are only trapped by the fantastical stories they’ve heard in the past that they believe to be true.

Buddhist Dharma harmonizes all laws, returning to the present moment, the present thought. When a single thought blooms, Bodhi naturally arrives.

“Emerging from mud unstained, dwelling in clear water without seduction” refers to the mind, not a person falling into mud and not being soiled, nor transforming into a monster by dwelling in clear water.

It means the mind is not contaminated, and no matter what happens, the mind remains pure, clear, uninhibited, and at ease.

People are inherently Buddhas. Yet, they always talk about thirty-eight heavens, seventy-nine layers, hell, heaven, that Sky-Howling Dog is a god, so-and-so is fierce. These are all descriptions of your own state of mind, you little idiot.

If the mind is unclear, then the celestial dog eats the moon. If the mind is clear, then it’s always bright. Not only can it not eat your moon, but you can even stew it yourself.

( I’m just using a metaphor~! Don’t tell me Big Brother told you to stew the dog~! I like puppies, but I’m not sure about those who dare to bite me. Hahaha.)
