Chapter 262: I’ve Been Awesome Since I Was Little
“Good, good, good!”
“Holy crap, amazing!”
“Damn, truly amazing. You actually dare to fuck a large snake, six, six, six.”
After the first contestant finished boasting, a round of applause erupted in the venue.
This story that Big Brother heard also felt quite comfortable, to speak frankly, it was truly impressive.
After thinking for a moment, I slowly raised a sign and gave him an eight.
Full marks were ten, and I intentionally left two points as space for him to continue growing.
Seeing this, the young man smiled, shrugged his shoulders, cupped his hands at me, and then retreated.
The second contestant automatically appeared. This second one was also a young man, handsome to a tee, only a tiny bit inferior to me, hahaha.
After he stood in the center, he also cupped his hands at me and then began his performance;
“I am an enlightener, the self-enlightened kind, and extremely ignorant. Once upon a time, I longed to search for my master connection in famous mountains and great rivers, and I also fantasized whether my master would find me one day and teach me all sorts of incredibly awesome things.
But things often don’t go as planned. After decades of wandering around, I was scammed out of a lot of money by those who claimed to have cultivation levels. In the end, I lost that spirit and was no longer willing to trust anyone, thinking I would read more classics myself, or perhaps gain comprehension of principles from certain literary works.
That summer, I accidentally encountered a book. The first few chapters of this book made my blood boil, as if some strength within me was activated. However, later, from around chapter forty to fifty, the content of the book made me very resistant, because the book no longer easily explained how to cultivate, but instead rambled on about a bunch of bizarre stories. This made me lose the patience to continue reading, and I even felt annoyed and bored.
After giving the book a mediocre rating, I stopped reading it.
Until one day, when I accidentally heard about this book again, I suddenly wanted to read it again, even curious about what was written later. I reread it from the beginning. This time, when I came to the stories I had been unwilling to read before, I was not repulsed, nor irritated, but patiently continued to read.
As I read, I cried, I really cried.
It turned out, it turned out that the person who wrote this book intentionally rambled on, all to grind down my ego and break my inertial thinking. I was still foolishly unaware.
I regretted it, regretting why I didn’t discover this at the very beginning. But I also understood that the “go with the flow” mentioned in the book was referring to my fate with this book. Simply put, no matter what I saw, if I could persevere in reading it, then I would be considered truly fated with this book, and I would see the author’s hidden principles in the stories, as well as insights on cultivation.
No wonder there was such a sentence in the book; Hahahaha, a big fool cannot see these things.
After letting go of my past prejudice, I began to read this book seriously, little by little. As I read, I suddenly realized that the things I thought I couldn’t get over before, I could now get over. Many things I didn’t understand before, I now inexplicably understood.
I became confident, truly confident from the bottom of my heart. I believe that this life, although I cannot control its length, I can control how my mind should operate during this process. Just like the sentence in the book, it’s not a wasted life if happiness is more than trouble.
In the face of life and death, no problem is a problem anymore, and I no longer fear life and death. When to live, I live; when to die, I die, breaking through the duality of life and death.
After this state, all problems in life are no longer problems, they have all become very interesting experiences. In my conduct, my job, my learning, in whatever I do, I am happy, even drinking water, urinating, eating, and sleeping, I find them all quite interesting.
It turns out that happiness is really that simple, it’s just one word: play! Yes, it’s play.
Play does not mean living muddle-headed, nor does it mean being cynical.
It means living seriously with a playful mindset, living each present moment of my life seriously, not dwelling on the past with annoyance, nor fearing the future with trouble.
Live only in the present, at this very moment, obtaining a comfortable and self-consistent life state from the inner heart. It’s like a flower; I know that when I am born, I am destined to fall, but I still bravely bloom without fear of wind and rain, resolutely and proudly, making my life in this lifetime ordinary yet magnificent.
Play, this word seems light, but it contains a great deal of knowledge. Since it’s play, then one will not argue about win or lose. Play itself is an enjoyment, a relaxation, a feeling of freedom.
And playing seriously, allowing oneself, this role, in this game of life, to live according to one’s most preferred state, that is truly, truly like one’s own god guiding everything.
After the initial misunderstanding of the book, and then persevering to understand it later. I stopped liking to define anything casually, not defining others, not defining objects, and even less defining myself. Without definition, there is every possibility. If I truly had to define it, I would become a king myself, as written in the book, and be my own god.
I deeply regret that I casually defined this book at the time, and even felt so foolish. I encountered such a book, such an author, and yet did not understand his intentions.
Alas, Eldest Brother said, regret is useless, change is useful. In other words, it is repentance, which is to change oneself.
From the bottom of my heart, I began to truly like this book, and I also apologized to the author, Big Brother. Guess what? He said, “It’s nothing, don’t rush, take your time.”
I fucking cried again. This Big Brother truly lived like a Bodhisattva. I slandered him, and he didn’t take it to heart at all. Instead, he comforted me. Even when people cursed him, he didn’t get angry. Later, when they knew they were wrong and came to apologize to him, he said, “Good child, it doesn’t matter. Knowing a mistake and correcting it is a great virtue. A prodigal son returning is more precious than gold. No matter how awesome what I say is, it’s not as awesome as you are. Being able to take something helpful from me is the greatest reward to me.”
My God! Such a person still exists in this world. I don’t know what he has experienced. Perhaps I can feel some of it from his words, but I feel it’s too shallow, too shallow. To what state must a person cultivate to treat people like this?
Is he foolish? No, I don’t feel he’s foolish at all. On the contrary, I find him so intelligent it’s unlike a human. Is he intelligent? Yet someone who acts this way makes one feel foolish. Perhaps using words like foolish or intelligent to evaluate him is somewhat stupid.
Regardless of whether he recognizes me or not, in my heart, I have already regarded him as a Master, and I have truly begun to respect him. Later, using the methods he taught me, I truly became awesome. I am in a very good mood in everything I do. In this state, even the worst things are nothing to me.
When encountering any matter, no matter whose it is, I no longer think about other things, but directly think about how to resolve the problem.
Over more than a decade, my career, family, and interpersonal relationships have all been adapted to be extremely harmonious. That day, I can proudly say to Eldest Brother, Big Brother, my Master: “Eldest Brother, Big Brother, Master, you’ve worked hard. I have truly lived as my own god, I have truly become the best version of myself.”
I know he will definitely laugh and say to me, “You little son of a bitch, make more money as tribute. If you’re ungrateful, I’ll feed you feces in your dreams, hahahaha.”
After saying this, the young man paused. He chuckled foolishly to himself for a long time, then said:
“Hahaha, I’ve finished my boasting, or you could say I’ve finished my story. Regardless of what you think, I feel it’s amazing, because I was born amazing, I’ve been accustomed to being amazing since childhood, yahahahaha.”
