Chapter 212: Meeting
Several foreigners looked at Qin Wanwan in surprise.
Qin Wanwan sat high on the white wolf’s back. She was short, so the foreigners kneeling in front of her didn’t notice her at first.
They only noticed her when she spoke.
“Who are you? You’re actually sitting on the Wolf God’s back!”
Qin Wanwan tilted her head slightly: “The wolf is mine.”
If she wasn’t sitting on it, who would be?
“Why can we understand what you’re saying? And you can hear what I’m saying!”
Qin Wanwan slightly lifted her chin: “Because I’m powerful.”
She looked so proud, yet was exceptionally cute.
“Hurry and move aside, I need to go find Daddy.”
After speaking, she squeezed the white wolf beneath her with her short legs. Wolf Xiaofeng immediately understood her meaning and leaped lightly over the people kneeling on the ground.
The group turned and watched eagerly as the three white wolves led Qin Wanwan away.
“Da da da…”
The sound of hoofbeats reached their ears. When they looked up, they were dazzled by the beautiful red in front of them.
Shang Wuyang, dressed in red and riding a red horse, glanced down at them.
He had passionate peach blossom eyes, but his gaze was indifferent, like he was looking at ants.
Neither the red horse nor its rider stopped, and they slowly followed behind the three wolves.
They arrived at the military camp, and the guards at the entrance let them pass without any obstruction.
The white wolves, Wolf Xiaofeng and the others, seemed to know where Xie Chong was, and led Qin Wanwan directly to a large tent.
“General, several Grassland Tribes have come to inquire about forage grass seeds. However, there are definitely Tartar spies among them. Should we give them the seeds?”
“After the last wool transaction, we’ve established cooperative relationships with some of those tribes. It’s fine to give them the forage grass seeds, but I’m afraid the grass might fall into the hands of the Tartars, which would then fatten up their warhorses and turn them against us.”
“But if we don’t give it, how can we win over those Grassland Tribes?”
The people inside the tent were intensely discussing matters when a furry wolf head suddenly poked in.
“Awooo?”
It seemed to ask, is everyone busy?
The people in the tent looked over and were left speechless.
Xie Chong also looked over: “Wolf Xiaofeng, you…”
Before he could finish saying “get out,” another fluffy little head poked into the tent.
“Daddy!”
Her milky voice was clear and loud.
Seeing Xie Chong’s big, bright eyes, she impatiently wanted to slide down from the white wolf.
The white wolf proactively lowered itself, making it safer for her.
When Xie Chong heard “Daddy,” his heart seemed to tremble.
Immediately, he stood up with a whoosh and, moving with incredible speed, reached Wolf Xiaofeng and scooped up the little milk bun who was pouting her little butt as she slid down.
“Daddy, Father Xie~”
Qin Wanwan excitedly called “Daddy” repeatedly.
She hugged Xie Chong’s neck and planted several smacking kisses on his face.
Like a woodpecker.
Then she bit his beard.
“Ptooey… ptooey…”
“Daddy, your beard has grown so long.”
Xie Chong, holding his soft and small daughter, was beaming. He felt a little embarrassed hearing this.
They were all rough men in the army, so they didn’t pay much attention to grooming. They’d be too busy to shave for days.
“I’ll shave when we get back.”
His eyes were fixed on the little one, his deep gaze filled with nothing but his daughter, as if he could never see enough of her.
Qin Wanwan touched her daddy’s face, her small eyes showing concern.
“Daddy, you’ve lost weight.”
Xie Chong: …
His daughter was being a bit of a rebel.
He wanted to say his daughter had lost weight, but…
Looking at the little one’s chubby cheeks and her fair, rosy complexion.
He couldn’t bring himself to say it.
“Wanwan, you’re finally back.”
“You’ve been gone for so long, did you miss your uncle?”
“Wanwan, do you still recognize me?”
The others in the tent also gathered around, calling her “Wanwan” one after another.
Earlier, they had been arguing loudly in the tent, their voices so strong they could shatter the sky. But now, these rough men lowered their voices.
Qin Wanwan leaned obediently in her daddy’s arms and, in a childish voice, greeted each of them, saying she missed them too.
This made them feel elated, and they wished they could snatch her from the general’s arms.
But as soon as they extended their hands, they met the general’s dark, chilling gaze.
It was better to forget it; after all, she wasn’t their daughter.
She was the general’s daughter, not to be snatched.
Xie Chong pushed aside the people who had gathered: “Disperse. We’ll discuss this matter another day.”
He carried Qin Wanwan out of the tent with one arm and met Shang Wuyang.
Little Red’s head nudged over to nuzzle Qin Wanwan.
The two old fathers exchanged a glance and then tacitly turned their heads.
“Let’s go, home!”
Saying this, he mounted the horse with Qin Wanwan directly in his arms: “Giddy up!”
As expected of the Great General, his presence was both handsome and dominant.
But…
Shang Wuyang, left behind: ( Ò _ Ó )
“Xie Chong, you wait for me!”
He had ridden Little Red here, but now the horse had been taken.
Shang Wuyang, with a grim expression, went to find his horse.
Qin Wanwan, who had already run far away, nestled in Father Xie’s arms. She was a small, white, and soft bundle, appearing even smaller against Xie Chong’s large frame.
“Daddy, did we forget something?”
She was sitting facing Xie Chong, her two chubby hands gripping his clothes, her little face tilted up as she looked at him.
Xie Chong looked down: “Hm? We didn’t forget anything.”
He had the cub with him, what else could he forget?
They soon arrived at the General’s Mansion. As Xie Chong dismounted, he expertly got off the horse with Qin Wanwan cradled in one arm.
Qin Wanwan sat in his arm.
Father Xie’s arm was hard and muscular, very sturdy and giving a sense of security.
As soon as they reached the doorway, a head dangled down from a large tree by the entrance.
“Hiss…”
Qin Wanwan felt a dark shadow flash before her eyes, and then her small body was coiled.
Her body was coiled and lifted slightly into the air. Xie Chong grabbed the large black snake.
“Get down!”
He coldly commanded, exerting a slight force with his arm. Accompanied by rustling sounds from the tree, the black snake, as thick as an adult’s leg, was pulled down a distance.
When a snake coils around something, it’s very strong, but Xie Chong could pull such a thick snake down a distance with just one hand.
In fact, if he hadn’t been afraid of breaking the tree, he could have pulled the black snake down completely.
“Hiss~”
“Xiao Hei!”
Qin Wanwan looked at the thing coiled around her waist, her eyes curved into a smile.
It was such a large snake, capable of swallowing a child in one bite, but Qin Wanwan didn’t feel scared at all.
This was the snake she had raised, from a tiny thing to this large creature.
Although Xiao Hei vied with Xie Chong for the child, it was still mindful. The force with which it coiled around Qin Wanwan was not strong.
After being scolded by Xie Chong, it slowly let go of the little Qilin.
Qin Wanwan looked at the black snake, her beautiful eyes filled with amazement.
Even though it was a snake, Xiao Hei was truly good-looking.
Just its head looked refined and beautiful, completely unlike the ferocious heads of other snakes.
Although its body was thick, it wasn’t fat; instead, it was full of smoothly flowing strength.
Its scales were much larger than ordinary snakes’, arranged neatly and emitting a sharp gleam in the sunlight, making it very beautiful.
