Chapter 239: Amon And The Sea
“Who are you?!”
The man wearing the black pointed soft hat still had a smile on his face. Hearing the Death Emissary’s scream, he touched his monocle, his voice very soft.
“You don’t need to be confused.”
“Soon you’ll know who I am.”
The Death Emissary was just about to lash out and refine this idiot who dared to block him into a corpse slave when he suddenly felt his spirit blur.
He fearfully discovered his body was trembling uncontrollably, something crawling on his soul, and his sea of consciousness gradually losing contact with him bit by bit.
“You, what did you do?!”
“You’re an evil soul master too!”
Amon shook his head upon hearing this, his tone carrying a hint of pleasure.
“That’s not something to say.”
“If I became an evil soul master, my father and brother might break my legs.”
“Honestly, I really admire you. With your own strength, you can wipe out the entire Shrek Seven Devils.”
“This kind of record is enough to make you part of me.”
The Death Emissary desperately wanted to pray to the god of death he believed in, to chant the great god of death’s name once more before dying, but he found he couldn’t utter a single word.
Or rather, even his own thoughts no longer belonged to him. He clearly felt himself gradually turning into another person.
And at this moment, he surprisingly felt no fear at all, his heart instead calm like clear lake water.
“L-Leader, what’s wrong with you?”
“What did he do to you?”
“Damn it! We’ve got dozens of men, and we’re afraid of just him alone!”
“Even dozens of pigs, he couldn’t catch them all at once!”
The bandit group members behind the Death Emissary saw their boss seemingly affected by the opponent, and they all became furious, ready to fight Amon to the death.
A bandit closest to the Death Emissary gripped his broken long saber tightly and charged straight at Amon.
Suddenly, an arm blocked in front of him. The bandit hurriedly stopped and looked at the arm’s owner, which was his boss, the Death Emissary.
“Leader?”
The Death Emissary removed his black hood, turned to look at these bandit group members, and showed a smile identical to Amon’s on his face.
The eerie scene made everyone feel as if their souls had been frozen. The bandit closest to the Death Emissary had his legs shaking, his lips trembling, but he couldn’t speak.
“He didn’t do anything to me.”
“I feel great right now.”
The Death Emissary’s voice no longer had its former sharpness, but was instead frivolous and teasing.
Amon walked to the Death Emissary’s side and said:
“Just now, that group from Shrek Academy cleared out a batch of Amons.”
“These ones here can just make up for it perfectly.”
“Anyway, we’re not picky eaters.”
In the terrified gazes of all the bandits, the Death Emissary reached his hand into the air, somehow pulling out a monocle and putting it on his right eye, saying:
“Of course.”
“Just right to have them find some fun with me inside the Holy Spirit Cult.”
“Father doesn’t allow us to act against ordinary people, but these evil soul masters aren’t even considered people in Father’s eyes.”
“They’re a group of nice toys.”
Amon and the Death Emissary chatted as if no one else was there. All the bandits’ bodies shuddered violently, then they quickly showed smiles, pulling monocles out of the air, putting them on their right eyes while saying:
“Find some fun?”
“Haha, that’s awesome.”
“Take me with you.”
Amon, wearing the black pointed soft hat, looked at the air beside him and said:
“My dear brother, since you’re here, why not come out and meet?”
Amon adjusted his monocle and looked at a very common tree in the Ming Dou Mountain Range nearby.
Beneath the dense green canopy, a figure slowly emerged without making a sound, not even disturbing the airflow, like a ghost.
The figure wore a white robe, with golden short hair and clear golden eyes—it was none other than his brother Adam.
“It’s been a long time, my dear brother.”
“Since we parted in Xilu City, it’s been a while since we sat down together for a good chat.”
Adam’s gaze showed no ripples, his tone still mild.
“Your main body is still at sea?”
“How have things been lately?”
“That kirin, you should have found it by now.”
Amon’s smile unchanged, he said softly:
“Of course.”
“My main body is still at sea acting as a pirate, having a blast.”
“Poor me, these sub-Amons can only find fun with evil soul masters.”
“As for the kirin, as long as I know it exists, hunting it down is easy.”
Adam nodded slightly and said:
“Mm.”
“Soul spirit technology has been developed.”
“But I think you probably won’t accept this technology.”
“So why did you conflict with Bai E and the others?”
Amon’s smile grew even brighter as his black eyes met Adam’s golden eyes.
“Because I wanted to see just how the person Father favors most really is.”
“And why he can bear so many of Father’s expectations.”
“Of course, my dear brother, I didn’t go heavy-handed.”
“I just played a game with them.”
“Our little sister wasn’t hurt at all.”
Adam looked at his troublesome younger brother and didn’t continue the topic with him.
“Has anything happened at sea lately?”
Hearing Adam’s words, Amon shrugged and straightened the black pointed soft hat on his head.
“The ocean has been quite unsettled lately.”
“Many sea regions have suffered crazy slaughters by unknown large soul beasts.”
“From what I know, the real culprit should be a deep sea demon whale.”
“The sea soul beasts’ scarlet blood has nearly dyed the West Sea Region red.”
“That thing’s next target is the South Sea.”
“The South Sea’s sea soul beasts have formed a coalition army and launched a punitive war against that maddened deep sea demon whale.”
“A total of forty hundred thousand year level sea soul beasts, large numbers of ten thousand year sea soul beasts, countless thousand year and hundred year ones.”
“Heh, the ocean’s resources are truly abundant. Just the hundred thousand year soul beasts in a single sea region already exceed those in the Star Dou Great Forest.”
Adam’s gaze shifted slightly as he said faintly:
“The South Sea probably won’t end well.”
“That’s a Deep Sea Demon Whale King, the wife of the one from ten thousand years ago.”
“Its strength should be about the same, but due to anger and hatred, it’s acting even more madly.”
Amon’s mouth curved up slightly as he said:
“You knew it after all.”
“As expected of Father’s right-hand man.”
“Pretty much what you think.”
“Those guys can’t stop a maddened Deep Sea Demon Whale King at all.”
“Sea soul beasts below hundred thousand year are no different from blood bags in front of it.”
“It slaughters and devours nonstop, like a tireless machine.”
“I totally parasitized twenty thousand year sea soul beasts on the seabed to watch the battle. Before these fish Amons all died, the forty hundred thousand year sea soul beasts were down to twenty-eight.”
“That Deep Sea Demon Whale King thus greatly increased its cultivation.”
“The fall of twelve hundred thousand year sea soul beasts, plus countless low-level sea soul beast deaths, directly collapsed the coalition’s morale.”
“All the soul beasts scattered and fled, unable to mount any proper offense anymore.”
“These South Sea soul beasts are relying on the South Sea’s complex seabed tunnels and deep sea canyons to play hide-and-seek with the Deep Sea Demon Whale King.”
“Heh, this method really has succeeded in holding back that Deep Sea Demon Whale King.”
Adam nodded slightly. His keen interest in the ocean situation was because Huo Yuhao would soon set out to sea in search of other continents.
The turbulent ocean would undoubtedly add much uncertainty to this voyage.
Although relying on Huo Yuhao’s beautiful stats and captivating mechanics made casualties basically impossible, the Seer couldn’t withstand too strong an impact.
Prolonged turbulence would also wear down the crew’s spirits and weaken their bodies, extending the voyage time.
Douluo Continent’s nautical knowledge was extremely backward; so-called sea charts were no different from myth stories.
Many Enthusiasm researchers saw the sea charts drawn by Douluo Continent and thought someone had ported a novel from the Magic Net.
From sea chart drawing to maritime positioning, Enthusiasm researchers had to start from scratch.
Fortunately, while Douluo Continent lacked satellite technology, it had high-altitude detection tech. Huo Yuhao poached a large group of talents in this field from Mingde Hall.
Sun Moon Empire’s top expert in monitoring, Xuan Ziwen, had also arrived in Xilu City.
Xilu City truly didn’t mistreat these Mingde Hall talents; advanced laboratories and high-end research equipment were all arranged, even the latest computing equipment provided.
Computing speed roughly comparable to a level sixty spirit system soul master’s calculation speed.
Not particularly fast, but convenient enough. This computing equipment opened the eyes of Xuan Ziwen and the others; it was their first time seeing this kind of soul tool system.
From design concept to production method, it completely exceeded their imagination. Xuan Ziwen thus became obsessed with this auto-computing soul tool, frantically studying related knowledge and learning Xilu City’s soul tool concepts.
Adam looked at Amon again, his tone uncharacteristically carrying a hint of concern.
“So, what do you plan to do next?”
Amon glanced at the distant mountain range and said with a smile:
“Of course, continue being a pirate at sea.”
“The ocean is so lively; we won’t be absent.”
“The Holy Spirit Cult is also a group of interesting people.”
“Of course, the Continental Advanced Soul Master Tournament interests us too.”
Adam glanced at Amon, nodded, then vanished from reality, leaving only his voice echoing in the air.
“Mm.”
“Don’t do anything unnecessary.”
“Otherwise Father might get angry.”
Amon took off his monocle, carefully wiped it, and put it back on.
“Of course.”
