Chapter 261: Easily Handling Iron Captain!
The next day.
Over twenty warriors from the Special Operations Platoon gathered. Chen Jun got a canvas truck from the Support Company and loaded everyone onto it in one go, taking them all to the Army Aviation Brigade.
The Army Aviation Company had received the order yesterday, and the helicopters were all ready after inspections.
Chen Jun led the group straight to the heliport. The Army Aviation Company commander was already waiting nearby. The handover was seamless, and they started boarding as soon as they got off the truck.
Chen Jun was deliberately showing off this time, flaunting it in front of A Brigade.
So he deployed three helicopters!
Chen Jun himself rode in a Z-9 utility helicopter, while Tuo Yonggang and the other Special Operations Platoon warriors split between two Z-8 transport helicopters.
Because he had communicated with A Brigade in advance and handled all the relevant procedures.
The Army Aviation Company’s helicopters had A Brigade base coordinates and had already obtained clearance. As soon as personnel were in place, they could take off immediately.
Over 600 kilometers by car would take half a day or more—departing in the morning meant arriving at night.
Helicopters were much faster.
They arrived at the Army Aviation Brigade around 9 a.m. and reached A Brigade base airspace just ten minutes shy of noon—the three helicopters were overhead.
When ground guidance directed them to the heliport, Yuan Lang had already heard the news and come to greet them at the heliport.
Seeing Chen Jun arrive with three helicopters at once, he was still very surprised. A battalion-level unit equipped with helicopters—and several at once.
This was indeed rare!
He also guessed Chen Jun’s intention, and the corners of his mouth couldn’t help but curl up.
Yuan Lang and Chen Jun had become acquainted through conflict, and it had been nearly two years since they met. He had some understanding of Chen Jun by now.
Plus his demonic-level IQ made it no surprise that he could figure it out.
“This kid, coming here to show off.”
Yuan Lang murmured with a smile, but then he saw the people disembarking—not just Chen Jun, but over twenty others.
The smile on Yuan Lang’s face immediately changed to a helpless bitter laugh.
He realized he’d been roped in by Chen Jun again.
But even knowing he’d been played by Chen Jun, thinking of what Chen Jun had that he wanted most, he could only grit his teeth and bear it.
Chen Jun, stepping off the helicopter, strode toward Yuan Lang with smug confidence.
From three or four meters away, he called out: “Captain Yuan, you personally coming to greet us is truly my honor. It makes me feel so proud.”
“Proud my ass. You’re just thrilled, kid—hitting me with such a big surprise right off the bat.” Yuan Lang laughed and cursed.
“I’m just trying to save trouble. Anyway, once we settle things, they’ll have to come too. Coming in two trips would be too much hassle.”
Chen Jun’s acting skills were top-notch—he lied straight-faced without batting an eye.
“You should be a lawyer.”
Yuan Lang knew he couldn’t outtalk Chen Jun, so he dropped it and changed the subject: “You show up unannounced with this many people—if I can’t host you properly, don’t blame me.”
This was obviously a jab at Chen Jun, salvaging a bit of face after falling for his trick.
“Hey, no problem. My Special Operations Platoon has the strongest adaptability—they’re tough and durable. If you can’t accommodate us, the nearby grass is fine; we can sleep there no problem.”
No one could handle Chen Jun playing rogue; he didn’t buy Yuan Lang’s ploy at all.
Up close, he even pointed at the helicopters with a boastful tone: “How about it? These helicopters from Steel Seventh Battalion—pretty awesome, right?”
“Awesome? What does that mean?” Yuan Lang asked, puzzled.
“It means great, badass—dialect from the Minnan region.” Chen Jun explained.
“Steel Seventh Battalion is just a battalion, and they equipped you with three helicopters? As transport—looks like… the superiors really value you.” Yuan Lang said.
“Transport? No way—we in Steel Seventh Battalion even have an Army Aviation Company. Super badass, with attack helicopters too.” Chen Jun said proudly.
He had personally set up Steel Seventh Battalion, and it was the only one in the entire army with a helicopter company.
Chen Jun had every right to be proud!
“Army Aviation Company? Does that establishment even exist? I’ve never heard of it.” Yuan Lang’s eyes widened; it was genuinely the first time he’d heard.
In these times, domestic attack helicopters were scarce—even regiment-level units rarely got them.
Even division-level might only possibly get them.
So units starting with attack helicopters were at least brigade-level, or Air Force battalion-level. Yuan Lang had never seen a company-level establishment with them.
“Absolutely—it has an official designation and everything.” Chen Jun said confidently.
“Impressive, kid—you really have the skills.”
Yuan Lang was genuinely convinced by Chen Jun. Every meeting brought a surprise, as if Chen Jun had endless potential.
Just then.
Tuo Yonggang led the Special Operations Platoon in neat formation, trotting over.
Normally, with Chen Jun negotiating with Yuan Lang, subordinate Tuo Yonggang didn’t need to bring everyone, but he deliberately did.
Strong-willed and face-conscious Tuo Yonggang wouldn’t miss such a golden opportunity.
Upon arrival, he saluted and reported loudly: “Report, Comrade Commander! Platoon Leader Tuo Yonggang of the Special Operations Platoon, Special Reconnaissance Seventh Company, Steel Seventh Battalion, Seventh Zero Two Regiment, Combined Arms Division, reporting with 28 Special Operations Platoon members. Awaiting your orders.”
Chen Jun knew what Tuo Yonggang was up to and smiled, stepping aside.
Seeing the spirited Tuo Yonggang standing tall before him, Yuan Lang didn’t need to think—he knew exactly what was going on.
He had been the one to eliminate Tuo Yonggang back then, and now he was back.
The intent was obvious!
Yuan Lang acknowledged Tuo Yonggang’s excellence. The situation had been special then; Tuo Yonggang was too stubborn, and he had no other choice.
Now seeing Tuo Yonggang thriving under Chen Jun, full of success.
Yuan Lang was actually pleased inside.
But he had to save face, so his expression darkened.
Qi Huan, Yuan Lang’s top sidekick standing behind him, saw Tuo Yonggang and the other eliminated cadets all back, not a single one missing.
His eyes showed a clear change.
No anger or resentment—instead, a complex mix of emotions, even obvious delight.
That was Qi Huan.
Outwardly fierce, talking and acting like a butcher, but inwardly soft—a classic case of sharp tongue, soft heart.
“You’re here to show off to me?”
Yuan Lang wasn’t one to back down; he confronted him directly without flinching.
“No, Commander.”
Tuo Yonggang replied resolutely: “I’m just reporting to you. We’ll train hard here to become excellent special forces soldiers.”
Tuo Yonggang’s words were loaded, but Yuan Lang didn’t call him out, letting him have his little moment.
Then he ordered: “Qi Huan.”
“Here!”
Qi Huan, off to the side, responded and stepped forward two paces.
“Take them to the old spot. It’s empty right now—let them stay there. We’ll see about the rest later.” Yuan Lang ordered.
“Yes!”
Qi Huan saluted, walked to the front of the Special Operations Platoon, and said loudly: “This isn’t your first time here, so I won’t repeat the rules. Once you’re in A Brigade, you follow our rules.
I hope you know why you’re here—don’t waste this precious opportunity.
No more chit-chat. All present, right face, double time—move!”
Qi Huan was as straightforward as ever—a few crisp words, no dawdling, and he marched them off.
From Yuan Lang’s arrangement.
Though he hadn’t said it outright, he had accepted Chen Jun’s terms in his heart and was already planning for their training.
Otherwise, no need to take them to the dormitory building—just find any spot to sit and rest.
Chen Jun was very satisfied with Yuan Lang’s arrangement, so he stayed silent throughout.
In a blink, only the two of them remained by the parade ground. Yuan Lang then said to Chen Jun: “Come with me. The Captain’s been waiting for you.”
“Got it.”
Chen Jun nodded.
They got into the nearby jeep, with Yuan Lang driving to the Cadre Building.
Once Chen Jun and Yuan Lang left, the three helicopters, mission complete, slowly took off and returned the same way to the Combined Arms Division’s Army Aviation Brigade.
This was pre-arranged by Chen Jun; no need to wait here.
Soon.
They arrived at the office, where Captain Tie had been waiting.
Captain Tie always gave the impression of calm composure laced with arrogance, exuding extreme dominance.
He never showed other emotions—not even when the Vanguard Squad had captured him alive.
But today, Chen Jun rarely saw a different emotion in his eyes: an urgency born of extreme craving.
It lasted only a few seconds.
The moment Chen Jun entered, he adjusted it back instantly.
“You’re quick. Sit.”
Captain Tie reined in his emotions, back to his dominant self. He stayed seated behind the desk and gestured for Chen Jun to sit opposite.
“Yes!”
Chen Jun didn’t waste words and sat down.
Chen Jun and Captain Tie faced each other across the desk, with Yuan Lang seated at the right diagonal, forming a sharp triangular setup.
“Yuan Lang told me—you want to cooperate with A Brigade again. I’m a bit interested, but as you know, not just anyone can come to A Brigade.”
Captain Tie was a master negotiator, starting by inflating his position.
“Of course I know.”
Chen Jun didn’t argue, saying confidently: “That’s why I came with sincerity and plenty of chips. I’m sure you’ll be satisfied.”
“Oh? That confident?”
Captain Tie was eager inside but kept a poker face, smiling faintly: “Talk is cheap. Did you bring the goods? Let me check them.”
“Sure.”
Chen Jun wasn’t there for small talk. He opened the briefcase he’d brought.
He pulled out a thick stack of manuscripts he’d written himself—complete with hand-drawn diagrams, over fifty pages, covering more than ten special warfare techniques.
Handing them over, he said: “These are the originals—eleven items I developed myself, plus analyses from foreign cases, on counter-terrorism and riot control and special operations techniques.”
“Eleven?”
Captain Tie had expected three to five at most—that would have satisfied him greatly, since each special warfare technique was top secret. Hearing eleven, his eyebrows twitched uncontrollably several times.
The forced calm nearly cracked.
His face held steady, but his hands betrayed him with obvious eagerness, moving several times faster than usual.
The originals hadn’t even hit the desk before Captain Tie snatched them from the air.
He couldn’t even talk to Chen Jun anymore, eagerly flipping them open, fully immersed in the content.
One look and he was hooked, completely drawn in.
CAR midline retention system, TOB rifle hold, dynamic approach rapid fire, British CQS close-quarters shooting, PEEL tactics, stripping tactics, HRST techniques, Mozambique drill, full-spectrum assault formation…
Seeing these special techniques one by one left Captain Tie more and more shocked, more and more stunned.
The inner impact was like a tsunami!
He’d heard of a few, but most were unheard of—techniques he’d never encountered.
Never mind how Chen Jun came up with them or sourced them.
After seeing them, Captain Tie was utterly captivated. Their value couldn’t be measured in money.
Forget training twenty-plus people—even trading for twenty-plus veteran A Brigade members, he’d consider it a steal!
Even if it hurt!
But that didn’t conflict.
As Captain Tie pored over the manuscript, his expression grew increasingly odd, evolving into utter disbelief and shock.
Yuan Lang couldn’t sit still anymore. He got up and leaned over to look.
And…
He got sucked in too, unable to pull away.
Yuan Lang was even more expert in tactics and combat than Captain Tie, understanding their value better—and thus more immersed, more captivated.
Seeing Yuan Lang and Captain Tie’s entranced, spellbound expressions, Chen Jun’s smile widened.
Just showing the tip of the iceberg had these two big shots firmly in his grasp.
It was destined—A Brigade’s two big shots would become his “ultimate tools” in building the strongest Combined Arms Division. No escape now.
With them fully hooked, Chen Jun wasn’t rushed.
He sat calmly watching.
After half an hour, when Captain Tie and Yuan Lang had skimmed the originals and were deeply shocked but reluctant to stop, they finally looked up.
Chen Jun then asked leisurely: “So? Are these worth it? If not, I’ll have to look elsewhere.
I hear there’s a unit in the southwest called Wolf Fang Special Operations Brigade—maybe talk to them. They’d probably be interested.”
Chen Jun said this deliberately to tighten the grip.
“Enough—more than enough.”
Captain Tie wanted them too badly—his IQ dropped momentarily, missing the ploy. He quickly spoke up to stop him.
Then he realized.
“Hahaha, you sly fox.”
Thinking how, after half a lifetime—and as A Brigade’s captain—he’d been so easily played by this junior.
He burst out laughing, loudly.
“Haha.”
Chen Jun laughed along: “So, Captain, you agree? These for my people training here half a year?”
“Deal. These are treasures—totally worth it.”
Captain Tie agreed readily, but then added a condition: “But since you’re here, stay a few extra days.
We have something going on—need your help. No problem, right?”
“No problem at all. Can’t stay long, but a week or two is fine.” Chen Jun agreed just as readily, no dawdling.
“Alright, happy cooperation.”
Captain Tie stood and extended his right hand.
“Happy cooperation.”
Chen Jun shook Captain Tie’s hand, his smile exceptionally bright.
Another big thing accomplished!
