Chapter 160: My Love, Please Look At My Heart
Just as Zeus was troubled over how to coax his beloved goddesses, Metis had already composed her mood and took the initiative to come find Zeus.
A streamer filled with the aura of wisdom quietly descended before Zeus’s Divine Palace.
Zeus looked up and immediately felt some guilt.
He thought Metis had come to hold him accountable, his mind racing to think of what sweet talk to use to resolve the knot in this goddess’s heart.
But what he didn’t expect was that after seeing him, Metis directly threw herself into his embrace.
Zeus instinctively held the goddess in his embrace tightly, slightly astonished in his heart.
In the end, he saw that this Goddess of Wisdom simply silently clung tightly to his embrace.
There was no noise at all, nor any crying, just quietly embracing him like that.
After a long time, the Goddess of Wisdom slowly raised her head. Her eyes were red, but she hadn’t let her tears fall.
Even though she could clearly see on her beloved’s forehead that extra touch of black that didn’t belong to her, it hurt her heart so much.
Those emotions of jealousy, unwillingness, and even hatred were like countless invisible venomous insects madly biting at her heart.
She merely said in a voice gentle to the extreme, “My love, although my heart is now enduring immense pain, I don’t want to bring you any trouble, much less make you feel troubled because of this.”
“My love, you are so great and radiant. I was attracted to you and thus deeply fell in love with you. So, for other goddesses to be attracted to you like me and deeply fall in love with you is the most natural thing.”
“If no other goddesses loved you to the point of no return, that would instead prove that my choice was wrong.”
“I also know that you are the incarnation of the sky, the great father of all gods and all spirits, and you are so merciful and soft-hearted.”
“When other goddesses take the initiative to embrace you, how could you bear to watch them suffer and go mad for you?”
“My beloved, so I don’t blame you. Nor do I blame them. Because I love you.”
The Goddess of Wisdom ultimately couldn’t fully hold back, and the crystal-clear tears belonging to the Daughter of the Ocean finally quietly slid down.
She gently stroked Zeus’s heroic cheek, saying in a soft voice filled with holy radiance, “I am fortunate to receive your love; this is my luck. But there are more unfortunate goddesses.”
“I can understand that pain of deeply loving you yet unable to fully have you. Just like I can’t imagine at all what kind of doomsday scene it would be if I completely lost you.”
“So, my love, my Zeus. I don’t blame you, nor do I blame them.”
“Even though my heart is in such pain. Because no goddess can truly open her heart to share her beloved with other goddesses.”
“But I am willing to fulfill you, and fulfill them.”
The wisdom gone mad for love used all her strength to hold Zeus tightly, saying in a tone nearly pleading, “My love, I only ask one thing of you: that you never, never, never abandon me. I would rather share you with other goddesses than completely lose you.”
Zeus, who had been quietly listening to his beloved goddess’s words, was already deeply moved in his heart.
He could clearly feel Metis’s unrestrained pure love for him, as well as the insecurity and fear deeply hidden beneath that love.
For this, this Goddess of Wisdom would rather deeply wrong herself than let Zeus feel the slightest displeasure.
She was both afraid that other goddesses would completely take Zeus away, and genuinely didn’t want Zeus to feel troubled because of this.
In love, whoever loves more deeply is always more humble.
Even supreme wisdom is no exception.
The noble Goddess of Wisdom had already become humble as dust.
Zeus tightly held Metis in his embrace; now he had no thought at all for sweet talk.
When facing a goddess who loved him so deeply that she was even willing to tear her own heart to shreds for it, how could he still say those frivolous sweet words?
Zeus gently stroked his beloved goddess’s soft purple beautiful hair, softly saying with utmost determination, “My Metis, my silly beloved goddess.”
“I, Zeus, hereby swear an eternal supreme oath to you: I will never, ever leave you. Because your love is the most sacred treasure I can never abandon.”
With that, Zeus gently released the silently crying Metis.
He abruptly tore open his collar, then raised his hand, and the scepter symbolizing the Supreme God King’s authority on the Divine Palace’s table instantly fell into his palm, transforming into a golden sharp dagger.
Without hesitation, he decisively slashed open his chest, revealing that slowly and powerfully beating sacred heart.
Amid that brilliant sacred radiance composed of myriad rosy clouds, his deep and firm love for Metis was fully revealed.
“My love, please don’t worry anymore. Before me, you never need to act so humble; it makes me feel such pain and sadness.”
“What I love is that bright and brilliant, confident and wise you, so I don’t need you to torment your noble self.”
“Please look carefully: you are forever in my heart; in my heart, my love for you is firm and brilliant.”
Zeus’s action was too swift and decisive; Metis, immersed in sadness, couldn’t react at all.
She was completely shocked by this resolute and tragic scene; through that open chest, she clearly saw in Zeus’s surging divine origin a clear, unmasked love for her.
Although this love was not the sole one, mingled with several other equally fervent emotions, that was already enough.
What Zeus had done for her was already enough.
In her heart at this moment was indescribable emotion, as well as heart-wrenching heartache.
The tears that had just somewhat subsided not only didn’t stop but surged out even more fiercely.
For a moment, she was panicked and at a loss, her clear divinity in chaos, wanting to rush forward and embrace Zeus but afraid to touch his terrifying wound.
She could only urgently say with heavy sobbing, “My love, I know, I know it all! Please don’t harm yourself anymore; quickly restore your divine body!”
A golden light flashed, and the wound on the God King’s body instantly healed.
Zeus tossed the scepter back onto the table inside the hall, then smiled faintly and once again took this tearful goddess into his embrace.
He lightly sniffed the goddess’s soft beautiful hair, rubbed his cheek against hers, and gently wiped away her seemingly endless tears for his beloved goddess.
While saying in the gentlest voice, “My love, please never doubt my love for you again, and never let such random thoughts plague you.”
Metis nodded repeatedly while still achingly stroking Zeus’s now perfectly restored chest, but her tears wouldn’t stop; only now, they were all tears of heartache.
She said in a tone full of distress, “My love, I never doubted your love for me! I only beg you never to harm yourself like this again. Seeing you hurt hurts me far more than my own pain, a million times over.”
Zeus had no doubt about the sincerity of his beloved goddess’s words.
He clearly knew that if he opened Metis’s heart at this moment, her heart would reflect only his image completely.
It would absolutely not be like his own heart, already colorful and filled with many beautiful figures.
He lovingly kissed Metis’s smooth dainty face, swallowing all the Daughter of the Ocean’s tears, and softly said, “My love, please don’t be sad anymore, and don’t overthink it.”
“I absolutely don’t want you to lose your bright self. We have eternal and infinite time; we will enjoy this infinitely wonderful universe together. As long as we are forever together, living happily, that is enough.”
Metis nodded repeatedly in His embrace, obedient beyond measure.
Nothing else mattered; Zeus was the most important.
Zeus then lightly coughed twice and whispered by Metis’s ear, “My love, so what you said earlier is still true?”
Upon hearing this, Metis also wanted to quickly dispel this oppressive atmosphere. Her beautiful eyes turned, and she gave Zeus an annoyed glare, but still said in a doting tone with feigned reproach, “Hmph! I mean what I say! Didn’t you say it yourself? Gods cannot break oaths or promises.”
Zeus immediately nodded vigorously, saying solemnly, “Naturally, gods should keep their word.”
The Goddess of Wisdom glared at him reproachfully again, saying with a hint of grievance, “I really don’t know when you got entangled with my new sister.”
“And you haven’t even had a child with me yet, but you’ve already had a child with my sister!”
Even Zeus at this moment felt slightly embarrassed.
He could only keep rubbing his cheek against this bright-eyed goddess’s flawless face, saying in an extremely small voice, “Th-this has a reason, and the situation was really special.”
Metis proactively covered Zeus’s mouth, letting Zeus taste the Daughter of the Ocean’s sweet nectar again before softly saying, “My love, if it’s not convenient to say for now, then don’t. I understand.”
With that, she gave her beloved God King another glare, helplessly saying, “Anyway, she is my sister too. Since I am hopelessly in love with you, it is only natural for my sister to fall in love with you.”
