Chapter 186: Gaining Control Of The Giant Rinnegan
Like sinking ten thousand meters into the deep sea and being abruptly pulled back to the surface, the sense of detachment mixed with heavy gravity tugged back the shell.
Menma suddenly opened his eyes.
The scarlet three-tomoe of his left eye and the crimson pupil of his right eye simultaneously focused.
In the Hamura Shrine hall, the shattered golden tracks’ debris floated in the air, every particle of metal dust frozen in its explosive trajectory.
Uzumaki Kushina maintained her pose with the Adamantine Sealing Chains surging, Uchiha Hikari’s extended Susanoo arm stiffened in place, Hizashi Hyuga’s eye sockets streamed with blood tears, his Byakugan pupils trembling slightly from excessive insight.
Even the dark red cracks pulsing on the surface of the Giant Tenseigan were paused.
The flow of time abruptly returned to normal.
The suspended metal debris rustled down.
The faint cracking sounds from the depths of the shrine reconnected into a continuous piece.
Uchiha Hikari instantly regained her senses, her extended Susanoo giant claw almost instinctively pulling forward, wanting to shield Menma’s figure in her palm.
“No need.”
Menma’s voice pierced through the energy wind howl, calm like dropping a stone into water.
He didn’t even turn his head, merely tilting his jaw back extremely slightly, almost imperceptibly.
Susanoo’s giant claw halted half a step behind Menma in the air, the boiling chakra slowly subsiding, the blood light of Uchiha Hikari’s Mangekyo condensing in her eyes, her gaze locking even tighter on Menma’s back, Susanoo’s outline still maintaining a half-coagulated state ready to unleash.
“What… was that just now?” Her voice carried a trace of tightly suppressed tension.
The residual energy vortex in the shrine hall still tore at space, that abrupt white light’s devouring sensation that descended and vanished, intense enough to brand a mark on the mental level.
That was a power she had never seen, not even heard of!
“Nothing.” Menma’s voice came through the mask, his gaze falling on the Giant Tenseigan where the core’s light flickered indeterminately, crawling with dark red cracks.
“Went to the Pure Land, chatted with Otsutsuki Hamura about some old matters.”
The air instantly froze.
Otsutsuki Sakuya, nailed dead to the metal pillar by Adamantine Sealing Chains and Black Rods, suddenly raised his head!
“Absurd… absurd!” Sakuya’s roar was eroded into a hoarse distortion by the Black Rod piercing his shoulder blade, his body struggling violently in the chains, the metal pillar emitting harsh friction sounds!
“The Pure Land resting place of Ancestor Hamura… how could someone like you…!”
Menma did not turn back. He merely raised the index finger of his right hand extremely casually toward Sakuya’s direction.
Buzz—!
An invisible terrifying repulsion instantly descended!
“Urgh—!” Sakuya’s mad roar was forcibly pressed back into his throat!
The space binding his body seemed to solidify in an instant into a cage harder than metal by a thousand times!
The Adamantine Sealing Chains instantly tightened to the extreme!
The Black Rod piercing his shoulder blade buzzed and vibrated, forcibly disrupting all remaining chakra flow in him!
Immense pressure crushed over his entire skeletal structure, all struggles, roars, and defiant will crushed dead before this finger’s mountain-shattering willpower!
“How is this possible… how could you master… this power…” Sakuya’s body convulsed uncontrollably, his chest heaving with bellows-like gasps from deep within.
“Twisted, fallen, utterly foolish.” Menma’s voice remained cold and steady, every word piercing clearly through the energy turbulence, nailing into Sakuya’s spirit core on the brink of collapse.
“The Otsutsuki on the Moon have only two bloodline missions: protect the Ninja World, protect the seal.” He paused slightly, his gaze under the mask piercing through the massive Tenseigan, as if seeing deeper secrets.
“Can’t even fulfill the minimum duty of guarding the Outer Path Demonic Statue! Yet arrogant enough to purify the Ninja World? With tainted bloodline enacting divine punishment, with this defective ‘eye’?” The icy sarcasm cut like a blade edge.
“Otsutsuki Sakuya, which of your and your twisted ancestor’s actions followed Hamura’s will? Which wasn’t defiling and trampling the beliefs he passed through bloodline?”
Sakuya’s body trembled violently.
‘He knows, how does he know everything!’
In that body confined by Adamantine Sealing Chains and Black Rods, the last pillar supporting his beliefs collapsed with a boom.
“Outer… Outer Path Demonic Statue…” Sakuya’s cracked lips moved silently, his hollow eye sockets “looking” toward Menma, only bewilderment left.
“It was lost for decades, I too secretly searched the Ninja World, but found nothing…” His voice grew lower, carrying a massive sense of void after a millennium-immersed illusion dream was utterly shattered.
“As for the legendary seal… I… didn’t…” The words of defense were pale and powerless.
Before Shura’s precise accusations against their clan’s secrets, the seal, the Outer Path Demonic Statue, all reasons seemed absurdly laughable.
“Of course you didn’t mean to.” Menma stepped forward, his boot stepping over the cold shattered metal tracks, emitting a crisp sound.
He approached the locked Sakuya, his voice like proclaiming final judgment: “You’re just incompetent. Incompetent enough to fail even the most basic mission ancestors bestowed via bloodline. Incompetent enough to be blinded by narrow arrogance, twisting protection into destruction. The Ninja World needs no purification, it only needs an ender.”
Menma stopped before Sakuya, looking down from above.
He did not touch Sakuya, but that immense pressure from Nine-Tails Chakra mixed with his own will, like an invisible giant mountain, heavily pressed toward every inch of Sakuya’s confined body.
“I will end the Ninja World’s pointless strife, erase the millennium chaos you bloodline descendants created with your own hands.” Menma’s voice held no emotional ripples, only a godlike indifference overlooking ant fates.
“This Ninja World and Moon’s future, whether you will it or not.”
He raised his right hand, five fingers spread, resonating with the Giant Tenseigan.
“Will all return to my grasp.”
Clang.
A light sound echoed in the deathly silent shrine.
Sakuya’s body slowly slid down, his knees finally slamming heavily onto the cold ground paved with crystal debris.
He made no further sound, his entire head limply drooping to his chest, pale white long hair scattered messily covering his hollow eye sockets.
The body pierced by chains and Black Rods merely maintained the kneeling pose, like a dilapidated stone statue stripped of all soul.
All struggles, roars, pride, scheming, ultimately turned to dust.
Silence, like cold tides, submerged Otsutsuki Sakuya.
And nearby, Otsutsuki Toneri looking at his helpless father, the branch family ideology instilled in him also collapsed.
The dark red cracks on the Giant Tenseigan’s surface still pulsed faintly, the pale golden halo flickering indeterminately.
Uchiha Shisui and Hizashi Hyuga stood at the positions closest to the light orb core, silently watching this Giant Tenseigan that had moments ago emanated world-ending divine might, now covered in cracks.
The air was filled with tailed beast chakra not yet fully dissipated.
Shisui’s three-tomoe Sharingan cautiously rotated, observing the six-petaled flower at the light orb core, each dimming and brightening flicker tightening his heartstrings.
The cracked edges silently told of the aftermath of Shura’s chakra clashing against the Giant Tenseigan.
In Hizashi Hyuga’s Byakugan vision, everything was even more microscopic and clear.
He could “see” the Giant Tenseigan’s internal complex energy network, the precise structure formed by pure Byakugan eye power, now like a forcibly torn spiderweb, vast pure eye power leaking and dissolving thread by thread from those fissures.
Each pulse seemed to widen the cracks a bit more.
A violent contradiction tore at his heart.
This was the ultimate evolution of Byakugan, “Tenseigan” power!
‘So Byakugan can evolve like Sharingan…’ Power beyond all imagination displayed before Hizashi!
And now, this eye was crumbling before their eyes!
“Lord Shura,” Hizashi Hyuga’s voice carried barely detectable dryness, he forced his gaze away from those dizzying cracks, turning to the black-robed figure.
“This Tenseigan… shall we… try to repair it?” His peripheral vision uncontrollably swept over nearby Kimimaro.
Those eyes transplanted from a Hyuga Main Family Elder, now faintly glowing with bulging veins sensing homologous power, a chill crept up Hizashi’s spine.
Menma’s gaze swept over the prostrate lifeless Sakuya, toward the God’s Eye standing atop the wreckage.
He slowly raised his right hand wrapped in dark red tailed beast chakra, this time, no longer aggressive extension.
Buzz…
After an extremely faint but clear resonance, strands of deep blue, starlight-like chakra threads began flowing reverse along the dark red glow dissipating from Menma’s fingertips, back into his body.
Not absorption, but some exchange and confirmation of information.
“Hagoromo and Hamura, both blood descendants of Otsutsuki Kaguya.” Menma stated calmly.
“Though bloodlines differ, they share the same source and flow.” The dark red chakra at his fingertips like living tendrils, gently wrapped around the edge of a tiny crack.
“My chakra is both foreign and fuel to this ‘eye’ refined from countless Byakugan of Hamura’s descendants.” His gaze fell to his fingertip, the faint blue starlight pulsing faintly in the dark red glow.
“Eye power is ultimately the ultimate manifestation of mental power, just as chakra is refined from physical and mental energy, eye power is refined the same way.”
“This Giant Tenseigan’s highest permission perhaps even has Hamura’s approval, who knows.”
Permission.
The word like silent thunder, exploding in Hizashi and Shisui’s hearts.
They abruptly looked toward the Tenseigan’s core depths, that originally extremely wilted six-petaled flower sigil!
Now, at the pale golden halo’s edge, an extremely faint pale red ripple quietly spread and covered!
Menma withdrew his hand, the starlight threads at his fingertip vanished.
His gaze turned to Hizashi, the mask’s eyeholes seeming to pierce straight through his inner struggles.
“Repairing this Giant Tenseigan is not unattainable.” Menma’s voice was not loud.
“Since its cornerstone is ‘countless Byakugan’, then…” He slowly raised his left hand, palm upward, as if cradling an invisible model.
“Then use new ‘cornerstones’ to mend the old cracks.”
An indifference toward life’s essence instantly enveloped Hizashi Hyuga!
‘Does he intend to…’ Hizashi recalled his earlier worry.
But the next sentence dispelled Hizashi’s concern.
“Cloning technology can already mass-produce Sharingan, Byakugan mass production also has breakthrough progress, repairing this Giant Tenseigan is just a matter of time.” Menma turned, back to Hizashi and Shisui.
Mass production… Byakugan?!
Hizashi seemed to see the scene outlined by those simple words.
Countless identical white eyeballs growing, peeled, then stuffed into this massive Tenseigan core in cold vessels!
“His eyes are cloned too.” Menma nodded toward Shisui’s direction.
Hizashi incredulously looked at Uchiha Shisui.
Shisui did not deny, only nodded heavily, deepening the shock in Hizashi’s heart.
“Kushina, Hikari.” Menma suddenly said to Uchiha Hikari and Kushina: “You take over the castle and Moon ecosystem’s central control room, Sakuya, Toneri, bring to the hub core, collect all intelligence on seals, control matrices, Otsutsuki Clan secret techniques.”
His gaze swept over Uzumaki Kushina: “After analysis, attempt to shift the main entrance anchor of the Moon space passage to within the Land of Stars.”
“Yes!” Uzumaki Kushina slightly bowed.
She released several chains binding Toneri and Sakuya.
At the same time, Menma spread his right hand’s five fingers, recalling the Black Rod nailed into Sakuya’s shoulder.
After losing Giant Tenseigan permissions, Sakuya without any defiant will posed no threat.
Uchiha Hikari said nothing, silently stepped forward, standing beside Kushina.
Her dark combat uniform under the shrine’s dim light made her face appear even paler, and colder.
She did not look at the captured Sakuya father and son, only gazed toward the open archway.
Soon, only four remained in the shattered Hamura Shrine center.
Menma stood alone in the faint light, the Giant Tenseigan’s vast swaying light and shadow enveloping him.
Flickering gold light flowed over his body-covering dark red tailed beast chakra cloak, projecting demonic frenzy distorted patterns on the black floor and walls.
“Let’s go, nothing here for now.” Repairing the Giant Tenseigan wasn’t a quick task, Menma prepared to leave the Hamura Shrine.
Buzz…!
Suddenly, an extremely faint resonant frequency suddenly spread from Menma’s left eye!
Thump—
The sudden odd pain made Menma raise his hand to press the mask, his left eye’s three-tomoe Sharingan pupil seeming to rotate.
The three scarlet tomoe gradually formed a ring like an ouroboros, in the pupil’s deepest depths, flashing and vanishing.
“My Lord!” Kimimaro first noticed Menma’s anomaly, hurried forward, while wary of Uchiha Shisui and Hizashi Hyuga.
“I’m fine.” Menma pressed the mask, raised his head again, already normal.
‘S strange, no intense emotional stimulus, yet Sharingan evolved? Could it be eye power influence?’ Feeling the left eye change, Menma guessed it might be due to mastering Yin-Yang Release technique advancing his mental power control and eye power refinement.
After all, by Hokage bloodline theory, as long as bloodline pure enough, strength to a certain level, directly awakening higher dojutsu seemed reasonable.
Like Uchiha Madara, gradually awakening Rinnegan after fusing Hashirama Cells.
Or like Otsutsuki Toneri, gradually awakening Tenseigan after transplanting Hanabi’s eyes.
Shisui and Hizashi halted, three-tomoe Sharingan and Byakugan all cast over, yet discovered under that White Three-Eyed Fox Mask, a vaster power brewing!
‘That’s… Mangekyo…’ Shisui showed shock, for this power, he was too familiar.
