Chapter 45: The Wonders Of The Book Of Crimson Moon
Unsure how many times she had woken up, Izumi once again returned to the Naka Riverbank.
The sunset dyed the sky red, wild geese skimmed across the twilight, and a flock of ducks played in the river, letting out bursts of quacking.
Having been “killed” countless times, Izumi’s eyes had gradually become numb.
Under the continuous impact of illusion techniques, she could no longer distinguish whether this was reality or an illusion.
On the first Night of the Uchiha Clan Downfall, she was killed by Itachi Uchiha’s Tsukuyomi inside the Uchiha Compound;
On the second Night of the Uchiha Clan Downfall, she tried to seek help from the Konoha Military Police Force, only to discover that the Military Police Force had also been attacked, and she was ultimately killed by the Tiger Masked Man.
On the third Night of the Uchiha Clan Downfall, she tried to seek aid from the village but was intercepted and killed by a group of masked ninjas before she could even leave the clan’s territory.
Next, Izumi Uchiha entered an endless cycle on the Night of the Uchiha Clan Downfall. No matter how she struggled, she couldn’t escape the clan territory or this infinite loop of the Night of the Uchiha Clan Downfall.
Thus, Izumi decided to seek help within the clan territory and uncover the truth.
She ran to every corner of the clan territory, even going to the clan head’s residence, but time and again she witnessed the nightmare of Itachi Uchiha slaughtering clan members, sparing neither the elderly, weak, women, nor children.
She also tried to rush to the Konoha Military Police Force ahead of time to find more people for help, but no matter how she hurried, she could never arrive at the Military Police Force before the clan downfall occurred.
Either the Tiger Masked Man bloodbathed the Military Police Force, or Itachi Uchiha slaughtered the entire clan territory.
No matter who it was, no one could escape; the shackles of fate seemed predetermined long ago.
Even her own mother…
The only thing that left Izumi somewhat bewildered was that mysterious person wearing the White Three-Eyed Fox Mask. After first appearing in her illusion world, he never appeared again.
Instead, Itachi Uchiha and that mysterious person who bloodbathed the Konoha Military Police Force appeared every time.
“That guy… who exactly is he…” After experiencing the endless loops of the Night of the Uchiha Clan Downfall countless times, Izumi Uchiha finally realized that the key to this illusion world was likely created by that mysterious person she first encountered.
“What is his purpose in giving me this illusion world? Will the Uchiha… really face clan downfall?” Unbeknownst to her, deep in Izumi’s heart, the inevitability of the “Night of the Uchiha Clan Downfall” had been implanted.
She just couldn’t understand why it would be Itachi! How could it possibly be Itachi!
Unable to figure it out, Izumi mustered her courage once more and walked toward the clan territory with a solemn expression.
She was determined to investigate the truth of the Night of the Uchiha Clan Downfall and find a way to break the illusion world.
However, when she cautiously arrived at the Uchiha Compound, she discovered that the sun had only just set.
“Hey, isn’t this Izumi? You’re back.” Grandma Kuna, leading her grandson Kiki, walked over from a distance, smiling and waving to her.
“Older Sister Izumi!” Little Kiki bounced and jumped toward her.
“Good evening, Grandma Kuna, little Kiki…” Izumi’s voice choked up slightly, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes.
After her father died, she moved to the Uchiha Compound with her mother and changed her surname to Uchiha.
Over the three years, she was accepted by the Uchiha Clan, who valued bloodlines and family ties, and the clan members treated her like their own.
Although her grades at the ninja academy weren’t good and she had no intention of advancing to chunin in the future, as an eye-awakened ninja of the Uchiha Clan, she received all the clan’s standard treatment and allowances.
“Izumi, why are your eyes red?” Grandma Kuna stepped forward and affectionately placed a hand on her shoulder. “Is it because you’re just starting your ninja career and finding it hard to adjust? Come to Granny’s house for dinner tonight. Granny will make you something delicious to celebrate you becoming a ninja!”
“Yay! Older Sister Izumi, come too!” Kiki excitedly circled around Izumi.
“Thank you, Grandma Kuna. I just…” Izumi wiped the tears from her eyes, feeling this warmth of family affection, yet terrified that this time it was also an endless loop of the Night of the Uchiha Clan Downfall.
Trembling with fear, Izumi followed Grandma Kuna and Kiki to their home as a guest.
She stayed alert, fully focused and on guard.
But from the moment Aunt Kuna prepared a bountiful meal, to finishing dinner and playing games with Kiki for a while, to bidding farewell to Grandma Kuna and Kiki, nothing happened.
As she hurried back home, the streets of the clan territory were dotted with lights. In the neighborhoods and alleys, children played happily, their laughter carried on the wind, while strolling adults chatted in small groups.
Returning home, Izumi nervously and bewilderedly opened the door.
“Izumi, you’re back.” Her mother, Uchiha Hazuki, walked out from the kitchen.
“Mom…” Seeing her mother still alive, Izumi could no longer hold back her emotions and threw herself into her arms, sobbing.
“You silly child.” Uchiha Hazuki simply thought her child had encountered some grievance during a mission. She gently stroked her daughter’s long hair and softly comforted her.

“The Book of Crimson Moon is truly useful.” Under the night sky, on the rooftop of a house in the Uchiha Clan territory, Menma leaned obliquely against the ridge, quietly watching Izumi Uchiha not far away.
Moonlight plated a layer of cold glow on his White Three-Eyed Fox Mask, and the night breeze lifted his fur collar.
The Little Nine-Tails poked its head out from the fur collar, holding an opened bamboo scroll in its hands, looking here and there.
“Menma, there’s nothing in this scroll?” The Little Nine-Tails flipped through it puzzledly for a long time, unable to find even a single character on the bamboo slips.
“Because it’s the Book of Crimson Moon.” Menma chuckled lightly and took the bamboo scroll from the Little Nine-Tails’ hands.
After the Little Nine-Tails revived in Menma’s spirit world, Menma arranged an environment for it in his spirit world, giving it a better living space in his own spirit world.
By chance, he discovered the Book of Crimson Moon deep in the spirit world.
Through exploration, Menma found that this blank bamboo scroll, the “Book of Crimson Moon,” condensed the essence of the Limited Tsukuyomi World. It could be used as a ninja tool to cast illusions comparable to Tsukuyomi, and holding the Book of Crimson Moon allowed various adjustments to the illusion world, immersing people in multiple layers of illusions.
Menma had yet to fully explore the limits of the Book of Crimson Moon.
Moreover, the Book of Crimson Moon came with illusion resistance effects, allowing Menma to become immune to some illusions and resist Sharingan illusions.
With the enhancement of the Book of Crimson Moon, it compensated for Menma’s weakness in the field of illusions, making it easier for him to deal with Itachi Uchiha in the future.
“You seem very interested in this girl, huh? Menma.” The Little Nine-Tails tilted its head, feeling some curiosity toward this Uchiha clansman it had never seen before.
“I’m just seeing if she has any value for me to use.” Menma indeed hadn’t seen her in the Limited Tsukuyomi World.
If viewed inversely as the Limited Tsukuyomi World, Izumi’s father likely hadn’t died on the Night of the Nine-Tails, so he probably hadn’t awakened the Sharingan, wouldn’t have moved back to the clan territory with her mother, and wouldn’t have known Itachi Uchiha.
There were still several years until the Night of the Uchiha Clan Downfall. In Menma’s plans, three Uchihas could potentially be used by him.
Izumi was just one of them.
“Her Sharingan is indeed very beautiful.” Menma recalled Obito’s evaluation of Izumi and felt anticipation for her Sharingan as well.
