Chapter 201: Everything Simple and Beautiful ⑥
The classmates in the class looked at each other for a while. Zhang Haiyang chased after her, “Bai Ya!”
Bai Ya, who had reached the doorway of the classroom, stopped and turned to look at Zhang Haiyang, “Is there something you need?”
“What did that look of yours just mean? Explain it to me clearly!” Zhang Haiyang wasn’t exactly a handsome guy, but he wasn’t ugly. Because he was quite outgoing, he had many friends, and there were girls who liked him. Such boys usually couldn’t stand being looked at with scorn or mockery. Bai Ya’s glance had angered him.
“Nothing, what do you think it would be?” Bai Ya said indifferently and turned to leave.
Zhang Haiyang grabbed Bai Ya’s wrist. “I’m telling you, Bai Ya, last time at our art festival, our whole class went up to sing, but you were the only one who didn’t. Do you know what the other classes said about our class? Our class values unity, we want to prove to others that our effort is useful. Because you didn’t go up, others started talking nonsense about us! We won’t hold this against you, but do you think we wanted you to go with us? We don’t want you to go either! If it weren’t for fear of what other classes would say, do you think I would want you to go with us?”
“If you don’t want me to go, I won’t go. Is there something wrong with that? I already said I wouldn’t go, what more do you want?” Bai Ya shook off Zhang Haiyang’s hand and turned to leave.
“Stop!” Zhang Haiyang shouted. “I said, we won’t hold the last incident against you. Not everything can be done as you please. This is a group activity, you must participate!”
“Are you crazy? Since you don’t welcome me, why should I go?” Bai Ya turned and cursed.
“If you don’t participate, you’re not part of our class!” Huang Yan walked out and said to Bai Ya, “Our class had a great impression at the last art festival, but some people said we left you out. Everyone in our class knows that you didn’t participate in group activities with us!”
“If I’m not part of this class, then I’m not part of this class. Do you think I really want to stay in this class?” Bai Ya roared. “You people only know how to put on a show for others. If you have the ability, show me some real results!”
“Whether we get real results or not, we’ll know when the report cards come out,” Zhao Bao Cui also walked out and said. “No matter what, I believe every classmate in this class will get better grades than you. We’ve been studying hard!” Luo Xu looked at Bai Ya. “If you drag our class down by yourself and lower our class’s average score, we’ll feel ashamed just thinking about it.”
“Others mock our class’s efforts as useless, so we work hard to prove them wrong. Because of you alone, like one rotten apple spoiling the barrel,” Ma Xin said angrily. He did have friends in other classes. After three years of studying at school, it was impossible not to know anyone from other classes. At the last art festival choir, Bai Ya hadn’t gone on stage to sing, and he knew some of what other classes had said. Hearing their words, it felt as if all their efforts were being ignored.
“I already said I wouldn’t go, what more do you want?” Bai Ya was on the verge of tears. “You said you didn’t want me to go, so I won’t go! But then you want me to go. If I go, who will play with me? You guys…” Before she could finish, Bai Ya’s tears fell.
“Alright, everyone, stop talking,” Luo Xu stepped forward. He glanced at Bai Ya and said to the classmates, “If Bai Ya doesn’t want to go, then so be it. Let’s all have fun together!”
“But…” If they all left Bai Ya out again, who knew what the other classes would say about them!
“Luo Xu is right. If Bai Ya doesn’t want to participate in this activity, then let it be!” Nie Qiu also stood up and squeezed to the doorway of the classroom. “Everyone pack up and go home! As for the specific arrangements for the excursion and study, we’ll discuss them after we get our report cards.”
“Nie Qiu, don’t pretend to be kind!” Bai Ya pointed at all the classmates. “Do you see? This is how the classmates treat me now, just like they used to treat you. Do you think I need your fake sympathy? Don’t worry, I, Bai Ya, will not participate in your activities because I, Bai Ya, am not part of your class.” After saying that, Bai Ya wiped away her tears and turned to leave.
Nie Qiu looked at Bai Ya’s back in surprise. Although she felt that Bai Ya not participating in their class’s group activities was a bit unsociable, and their class had indeed been spoken ill of by other classes because Bai Ya didn’t go on stage to sing with them at the last art festival, seeing Bai Ya become the target of everyone’s criticism, Nie Qiu couldn’t help but speak up to defend her. However, she didn’t expect Bai Ya to see it as fake.
Luo Xu glanced at Nie Qiu and turned to chase after Bai Ya.
What was supposed to be a fun organized activity, with everyone excited, had turned somber due to this small farce.
“Alright, alright, we’ll discuss the excursion when we get our report cards. Everyone go home for now!” Li Kai clapped his hands. The classmates returned to their seats and started packing their things.
Nie Qiu breathed a sigh of relief, turned back to her seat, and began packing her stationery and draft notebooks.
“Nie Qiu? Is Nie Qiu here?” A boy from the same exam room as Nie Qiu entered Class 10’s classroom. After looking around for a while, he spotted Nie Qiu, smiled, and walked towards her.
Nie Qiu didn’t expect this boy to come to their class alone. After all, Class 5 and Class 10 had been at odds since that incident.
Ye Haifei didn’t even bother to look at the students of Class 10. After entering the classroom, he walked straight towards Nie Qiu. The students who had already packed their things and were about to leave school stopped what they were doing and watched the boy, observing his every move. They had been in this school for three years, and they could recognize anyone with a bit of distinction in the entire grade. This boy was indeed the class hunk, but he was Class 5’s class hunk. What did Class 5 represent? They were Class 10’s enemies! They were constantly on guard, and they saw him heading straight for Nie Qiu.
Nie Qiu was also a bit confused. This boy had indeed told her yesterday to wait for him, but she thought he would probably find someone to beat her up. So today, she had planned to leave with Peng Yu Yang and the others. But she didn’t expect him to come to their class alone to find her. At this moment, she didn’t know what he was up to. When Ye Haifei reached her desk, Nie Qiu, who was packing her stationery, could only stare at him blankly.
