Zhang Haiyang pulled Huang Yan over and quietly asked, “Are we still going to ask Li Kai and Nie Qiu to go to the amusement park?”
Huang Yan glanced at Bai Ya and shook her head. If they were to invite Li Kai and Nie Qiu, they would definitely have to invite Luo Xu and Bai Ya as well, because Luo Xu was a good brother to Zhang Haiyang. Huang Yan would not do anything that could be seen as favoring one over the other.
Zhang Haiyang said again, “Then shall we go together?” There were still seven days before they would get their report cards. If they were going to have a study tour after the winter holiday, combining travel and study, then they absolutely had to have enough fun before getting their report cards.
Huang Yan thought for a moment, “Then I want to invite Nie Qiu.”
After the six of them said a few words, they separated and went home.
Because today was an exam day, Nie Aifang had said in the morning that she didn’t need to help at the market, so she didn’t go. She returned home, put down her stationery, and felt as if a weight had been lifted. She lay down on the bed.
Just as Zhang Haiyang had said, now that it was a holiday, it was less fun year by year. However, after intense study and exams, the feeling of being on holiday was one of relaxation.
She took out the gold inlaid jade necklace from her purse, kissed it, and then closed her eyes, entering the space. A rabbit lying in the haystack twitched its ears. Hearing the movement, it knew Nie Qiu had arrived. It didn’t move, just lay there.
Nie Qiu looked around and walked towards the rabbit. There were other rabbits in the haystack, but Nie Qiu precisely reached out, her palm passing under the rabbit’s armpits, and picked it up.
“Doudou, it’s been so long, have you missed me?” Nie Qiu asked with a smile. Because of her studies and sleeping with Nie Aifang every night, Nie Qiu hadn’t entered the space for a long time.
“Hmph, you actually know to come in,” Doudou turned its head. “You learned to get things from outside and don’t come in anymore, right? I knew it, all you humans are so ungrateful.”
“But I’m here to see you! You know, I moved, and because of the final exams, my studies were very intense every day. And I slept with my mom every night, so I didn’t have time to enter the space?” Nie Qiu smiled and put Doudou down. Doudou kicked its hind legs, glared at Nie Qiu a few times, and then ran into the woods.
Nie Qiu was helpless. Dressed, she turned and stepped into the pool.
Doudou ran a few steps and saw that Nie Qiu wasn’t chasing after it. It felt a little annoyed and retracted its feet, hiding under a tree to watch Nie Qiu.
The little rabbits that were basking in the sun opened their eyes in a daze. Seeing Nie Qiu step into the water, they quickly hopped out of the haystack and jumped into the water as if they were having fun. The water spray lifted the rabbits. The rabbits couldn’t stand steadily but happily paddled their feet, moving in Nie Qiu’s direction.
Ever since she could retrieve things from outside, Nie Qiu noticed that her skin had become smoother and smoother. Although not fair, it was a standard Chinese complexion. She liked the air in here. Sitting in the water spray, Nie Qiu was drenched. She slowly stood up and began to absorb the spiritual energy in the space as before. Her clothes dried at a visible speed, and her white clothes, soaked by the water here, looked as good as new.
Doudou watched for a while, then walked out from behind the tree, stepping on the water surface step by step towards Nie Qiu. It looked up, wrinkled its nose, sniffed hard, and then sat down in the water spray, letting the water wet its fur.
After absorbing the spiritual energy in the space for a while, Nie Qiu returned to the shore. Doudou naturally followed behind Nie Qiu.
Nie Qiu lay on the grass, looking at the blue sky. Doudou lay quietly beside Nie Qiu, yawning.
