In less than a minute, Peng Mama drove the car out of the garage and parked it at the main entrance of the Purple Gold Pavilion. She then got out and opened the rear passenger door.
Peng Yu Yang said nothing, holding Nie Qiu as he got into Peng Mama’s car.
Peng Mama glanced at her son and the girl in his arms, sighed inwardly, then turned and got into the driver’s seat, driving away.
Ye Haifei hailed a taxi. His mouth was bloody, and due to his swollen cheeks and a missing tooth, his speech was somewhat slurred. “Follow… the red car in front.”
The driver glanced at Ye Haifei and, as instructed, drove after them.
It wasn’t the rush hour for commuting, so Peng Mama drove smoothly all the way to the Provincial Second Hospital. Peng Yu Yang carried Nie Qiu into the hospital. Peng Mama didn’t bother with registration; instead, she pressed the emergency bell at the service desk.
Soon, a doctor and a nurse came from the direction of the office. The nurse pushed a mobile hospital bed, and the doctor’s white coat seemed to have just been buttoned. Without looking at anything, they saw Nie Qiu in Peng Yu Yang’s arms and told him to place her on the mobile hospital bed.
