Chapter 106: The Best Gift
The man’s body was strong and powerful, hovering above her like a ferocious beast, completely enveloping her.
Lian Li lay flat on the bed, already understanding he was doing it on purpose, and stated in a matter-of-fact tone, “You’re blind.”
“Blind, does that mean I need a miracle drug to cure it?”
A smile played on Jin Shi Yue’s lips. His warm, broad palm rested on her waist, gently caressing her, making Lian Li’s entire body feel hot.
She shifted to the side, but his hand followed, continuing to caress her.
Lian Li, with a slightly flushed face, tried to keep her voice steady, “It’s an incurable disease, nothing will work.”
“Whether it works or not, we’ll know after trying,” Jin Shi Yue’s voice was deep, with a hint of a smile.
The bath towel around his waist was a bit small for him, barely covering the crucial parts that needed to be covered.
Lian Li’s gaze inadvertently swept downwards, her eyes felt as if they had been scalded, and she quickly averted her gaze.
Jin Shi Yue caught her flustered glance and tempted her, “Do you want to see?”
If Lian Li were drunk, she would definitely have rolled over and pinned him beneath her, lifted his bath towel with her fingers, and said, “Yes.”
But she was extremely clear-headed now. She turned her head away, avoiding his gaze, “All men look the same, there’s nothing to see.”
Jin Shi Yue’s thumb and forefinger gripped her chin, turning her face back. His dark eyes stared at her intently, “Whose have you seen?”
Lian Li didn’t know who the exhibitionist was.
Lian Li also didn’t know who the owner of that thing was from the biology textbook and the instructional videos Xue Shufan had shared with her.
She studied and understood related knowledge only to protect herself when necessary; she never expected it to be taken so literally.
Seeing Lian Li genuinely racking her brain, Jin Shi Yue couldn’t help but smile.
He gently pinched the soft flesh on her cheek with his long fingers and said coldly, “Who are you lost in thought about?”
Lian Li snapped back to attention, “No one.”
Jin Shi Yue hooked his arm around her waist, pulling her into his embrace. He tugged at the quilt, covering them both.
Lian Li looked up at him from his chest, her eyes filled with confused bewilderment, “What are you doing?”
“Sleeping,” Jin Shi Yue said concisely.
Lian Li pushed herself up with her arms, “I’ll sleep in the next room.”
Jin Shi Yue’s large hand grabbed her, pulling her back with a meaning in his eyes that was unclear, “You only want to sleep with me, but not sleep *with* me?”
She never said that!
Lian Li’s cheeks flushed, and she explained, “I’m just not used to sleeping with someone.”
Jin Shi Yue stated clearly, “I’m your boyfriend, not someone else.”
Lian Li corrected herself, “I’m not used to lying in the same bed with someone.”
“You’ll get used to it starting now,” Jin Shi Yue said domineeringly, pulling her closer. Under the quilt, his long legs entwined with hers. As Lian Li was about to struggle, she suddenly felt an undeniable weight, and she immediately quieted down.
He was only wearing a bath towel, no different from being naked.
Lian Li let out a sigh of relief and obediently closed her eyes.
She had thought she would have trouble falling asleep, especially since his presence was so strong everywhere on his body, but in reality, she fell asleep in no time.
Her sleep quality was good that night; she slept soundly without dreams until dawn.
In the early morning, Lian Li was awakened by an unusual, peculiar sensation.
Just waking up, her mind was hazy, her eyes still sleepy. She opened them to find the bedroom curtains tightly drawn, with faint light visible outside through the fabric.
She didn’t know what time it was.
Lian Li tried to stretch, but her waist felt a bit heavy. Her guard went up, and she suddenly looked down, her vision filled with a strong, muscular arm with smooth lines.
The memories from last night slowly resurfaced, and she finally relaxed.
The man was holding her from behind, embracing her, and a constant warmth was transferring through the area where their chests and backs were in contact.
The temperature was scorching, and the touch was firm and hard.
Lian Li struggled slightly, preparing to get up.
Jin Shi Yue rested his chin on her hair, his arm around her waist, pulling her back into his embrace.
His voice, hoarse from the morning, sounded alluring and seductive, “Wait, it’ll be over soon.”
Lian Li was stunned, then suddenly understood where the unusual, peculiar sensation was coming from.
The feeling of contact was distinct. She pursed her lips, her face from cheek to ear turning completely hot.
Last night, there was at least fabric between them, but now her pajamas were thin, and he was completely unclothed… their skin was almost touching.
The man held her tightly from behind, his controlled breaths slightly heavy, brushing against the skin of her neck like flames burning her.
After a long, agonizing wait, it finally ended.
Lian Li breathed a sigh of relief and climbed out of bed. Without even looking at the man still dozing under the quilt, she went straight to the next room.
Back in her room, Lian Li took a few deep breaths first. Then, she reached out and touched her lower back; the hot, firm sensation seemed to linger.
Thinking of the sexy breathing she had heard by her ear earlier, she became even more convinced that Jin Shi Yue was a beautiful disaster.
What kind of person was he, not even being discreet with her so early in the morning.
Lian Li usually handled tasks with high efficiency, but today, her morning routine took much longer than usual.
By the time she came out, Jin Shi Yue had already changed his clothes and was sitting lazily at the dining table, waiting for her.
He was wearing a dark shirt and black pants, creating a distinct layered look. His collar was slightly open, exuding a casual confidence and an air of unattainable nobility.
It wasn’t the same clothes from last night.
There was also fresh, steaming food on the dining table.
It seemed someone had delivered food earlier.
Lian Li walked over, pulled out a chair, and sat opposite him.
Jin Shi Yue was typing on his mobile phone with one hand. When he saw her, he put the phone down on the table.
They ate breakfast in silence.
After breakfast, Jin Shi Yue placed a beautifully wrapped gift bag with his well-defined fingers in front of Lian Li.
Seeing this, Lian Li asked in confusion, “Didn’t you give me one last night?”
“That was for your birthday,” Jin Shi Yue said lazily, crossing his arms, “This is for New Year’s.”
Lian Li understood, “But I didn’t prepare a New Year’s gift for you.”
Jin Shi Yue met her gaze, a meaningful smile curving his lips.
“Aren’t you the best gift?”
Girlfriend = New Year’s gift?
Lian Li hadn’t expected him to be so easily satisfied; a girlfriend for half a year was equivalent to a New Year’s gift that only came once a year.
Not cost-effective.
She opened the gift bag and took out a gilded blue box with the Manolo Blahnik logo printed on it.
Lian Li opened the box to find a pair of silver high heels inlaid with diamonds. The luxurious diamonds refracted a brilliant light, showcasing their unique nobility.
They were the shoes he had let her try on last time in New York.
Lian Li stared at the beautiful and expensive shoes for a moment before looking up at the man on the sofa.
Jin Shi Yue had been watching her the entire time.
As their eyes met, he lifted the corner of his lips and said lazily, “What, are you so moved you want to pounce on me?”
Lian Li dared not be moved. Her eyes flickered for a moment before she said, “Wait a moment.”
With that, she slipped into the bedroom and soon reappeared, holding a red envelope for him.
Jin Shi Yue’s gaze swept over her slender, fair fingers, then moved up, settling on her bright, clear almond-shaped eyes.
Lian Li looked at him, puzzled, “?”
Jin Shi Yue’s tone was chilling, “What gift did you give Jin Yan Ting?”
