Chapter 144: Burying His Head in Her Neck, Biting Her
…
Lian Li caught sight of his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down, a sexy and alluring sight.
She looked up, her vision filled with the man’s thin lips, his straight nose bridge, his thick, dark, and sharp eyebrows, and those deep, dark, and burning black eyes.
Their eyes met. Jin Shi Yue’s gaze was heavy with desire, while Lian Li’s apricot eyes were clear and bright. Their gazes intertwined in the air, breeding a damp and sticky ambiguous atmosphere.
His large hand went behind her neck, gripping tightly, pulling them closer, and his thin lips captured her cherry lips.
Their lips and tongues kissed, their breaths intertwined.
His other large hand covered hers, guiding her hand by hand, just as he had patiently and meticulously taught her skiing before.
Silence surrounded them, with only the sounds of their kiss, their gasps, and soft moans, and even the thumping of their hearts.
The intertwined kiss seemed endless. Lian Li’s heart trembled and shook, her mind spinning as if falling from the clouds.
Jin Shi Yue’s kisses grew more fierce, savagely taking her. His long fingers moved with the heat of the kiss, as agile as falling snowflakes.
A subtle tingling sensation spread across Lian Li’s palms. The red jade bracelet on her fair wrist clinked, creating a crisp sound.
After a long while, he released her lips, which were now bright and full from the kiss. He lowered his head and bit her side neck with his sharp teeth, not too hard.
The sudden slight pain caused Lian Li to let out a soft hum from her nose. Following that, Jin Shi Yue’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and a low, muffled groan fell by her ear.
Damp, hot, his breath, belonging only to him.
That heat made her heart tremble and burn.
Lian Li gasped, a sense of panic she couldn’t explain filling her. She reached out to push the man on top of her away, but Jin Shi Yue held her tighter, burying his head in her shoulder, his voice hoarse, “Move again and I’ll bite you.”
Lian Li: “…”
She had just helped him, and he was still threatening her. And he had already bitten her once.
Forget it, it wasn’t the first time the Eldest Young Master had been unreasonable.
Lian Li had something on her hands and didn’t dare to move, letting Jin Shi Yue hold her tightly.
Jin Shi Yue turned his face, burying it in her shoulder and neck, smelling the clean citrus scent on her. His palm pressed harder against her back, pulling her closer.
“Jin Shi Yue,” Lian Li coughed lightly, “I can’t breathe.”
Jin Shi Yue eased his grip slightly. “With such little lung capacity, how can you kiss me?”
Lian Li: “…” Who wants to kiss you.
After hugging for a while, Jin Shi Yue released Lian Li. His bony, slender fingers held a pocket square, his eyelashes lowered, and he slowly and meticulously wiped her hands.
He wiped them carefully, one by one, not missing a single trace.
Lian Li looked at the germaphobic Eldest Young Master and couldn’t help but smile, pursing her lips.
She shifted her gaze, staring intently at the disheveled man. His body was partially revealed, his abdominal muscles clearly visible, exuding an impactful, handsome, and sexy aura.
Lian Li’s cheeks flushed. She looked away and gazed at the night view outside the window, asking, “Do you want to take a bath first?”
Jin Shi Yue tossed the handkerchief into the trash can, his voice casual, “You first.”
Lian Li didn’t refuse. She got up and walked directly into the bathroom.
When she came out after her shower, she saw him again. He had already resumed his roguish noble young master demeanor.
That night, after they had both finished their evening routines and were lying in the same bed, Lian Li said, “I’m returning to the capital tomorrow after visiting Mrs. Lu. If you have business that requires you to stay in Shanghai, you’ll have to stay at a hotel by yourself.”
Jin Shi Yue lightly pulled at his thin lips, a lazy smile curving. “Okay.”
Every time he agreed so readily, Lian Li felt a sense of foreboding.
As expected, the next day, when she and Jin Yan Ting visited Mrs. Lu, they unexpectedly “ran into” Jin Shi Yue.
Mrs. Lu had been observing a vegetarian diet and chanting Buddhist scriptures at a temple recently, so Lian Li took Jin Yan Ting’s car to the temple.
Nanhua Temple, built during the Three Kingdoms period, is one of the oldest temples in the metropolis. It usually has abundant incense offerings, but today it was closed to visitors.
A golden-red plaque above the mountain gate bore the two large characters “Nanhua,” grand and ancient, solemn and profound.
The temple was filled with a faint scent of sandalwood. The ancient temple bells chimed melodiously. Ginkgo leaves covered the ground, and a sweeping monk was using a bamboo broom to clear the fallen leaves.
Along the central axis of Nanhua Temple, from south to north, were the Maitreya Hall, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Great Hero Hall, and the Three Sages Hall.
Jin Yan Ting glanced at the quiet young girl beside him. She wasn’t the type of girl who looked around everywhere she went; her upbringing was impeccable, and her heart was steady.
“Have you thought about what you want to do after graduation?” he asked calmly.
Lian Li pondered for two seconds and replied, “I’ll probably go to Princeton.”
If there were no accidents.
“Changed your mind?” Jin Yan Ting asked.
The last time he asked her, she had said she wanted to work and not pursue further studies. Now, when he mentioned it again, her answer had changed.
Lian Li hummed in agreement. “Professor Lu and Senior Sister gave me a lot of advice. They have experience, and I’ve learned a lot from them.”
Jin Yan Ting’s eyes glinted with a smile. He asked her, “What reward do you want?”
A reward… like a parent giving a child a prize for getting into a good school.
Lian Li gently refused, “No need, brother. You’ve already given me so much.”
Jin Yan Ting looked at her face, about to say something, when an old monk in a sea-blue robe walked towards them.
“Mr. Jin, please.”
Lian Li glanced back at the tall and imposing group of bodyguards, then at the thin old monk, and felt a sense of temporal displacement.
She slightly curved her lips and smiled silently.
Mrs. Lu was by the side of the green lamp and ancient Buddha, accompanied by her children, Lu Hansheng and Lu Yan Ying, who were also observing the vegetarian diet and chanting scriptures with her.
The old monk led the way, guiding them to see Mrs. Lu.
Nanhua Temple was usually full of cats, but today, they saw none on the way in. Passing by a white magnolia, Lian Li spotted Lu Hansheng from afar in front of an antique yellow wall, one hand on his hip and the other holding a broom.
Lu Hansheng heard the commotion, turned around, saw them, immediately dropped the broom, and walked over with a playful expression.
“Brother Ting, Sister, you’re here quite early today.”
Jin Yan Ting calmly adjusted his cuffs. “Indeed, early.”
Lu Hansheng wore a kind smile, but his mind was calculating. “Are you both returning to the capital today?”
Jin Yan Ting: “Do you want to come along?”
“I’d like to, but the ground isn’t swept yet,” Lu Hansheng pointed to a large area of fallen leaves in the courtyard. “Why don’t you let Sister stay and help me sweep?”
“If you can’t finish sweeping, you can choose to eat the leaves,” Jin Yan Ting said unhurriedly.
Lu Hansheng openly tattled, “Sister, your brother is too cruel.”
Lian Li smiled faintly, offering no comment.
The main hall of the temple was a majestic three-story structure with flying eaves. The interior space was vast and open, with neatly arranged prayer mats. Monks in wide robes were chanting scriptures.
Mrs. Lu was inside, dressed in simple attire, sitting cross-legged before the Buddha statue, her jade hands twisting rosewood prayer beads, murmuring with closed eyes. The colossal Buddha statue had lowered brows, eyes filled with compassion, solemn and majestic.
The abbot offered Lian Li three sticks of incense. Lian Li accepted them and thanked him with a smile.
Lu Hansheng stood by with his arms crossed. “Incense of precepts, incense of concentration, incense of wisdom. After burning these three sticks, Sister, you’ll truly become a robot.”
Mrs. Lu was focused on her prayers and was not influenced by the younger generation.
Lian Li ignored Lu Hansheng and gazed reverently at the golden body of the Buddha statue.
Jin Yan Ting asked calmly, “Where’s your sister?”
Lu Hansheng replied, “Yan Ying went to the backyard to see Aunt.”
Jin Yan Ting, Lu Hansheng, and Jin Shi Yue, all from prominent backgrounds, were arrogant and proud at heart, not believing in gods or Buddhas. They glanced at Mrs. Lu, then at Lian Li.
Lian Li understood and a faint smile bloomed on her face.
Seeing this, Jin Yan Ting and Lu Hansheng strode out of the hall to discuss important matters.
It was already a great act of filial piety for the family’s person in power to accompany them for incense offerings; lingering was not expected.
After offering incense, Lian Li circled around and sat on a prayer mat next to Mrs. Lu.
Her gaze inadvertently swept over the items on the altar. She looked away for three seconds, then, thinking of something, turned her eyes back.
Wasn’t that the coin she had given to Lu Hansheng?
