Chapter 190: You’re my boyfriend, it’s different
Her words, like a meteorite falling, crashed into Jin Shi Yue’s heart with unstoppable force.
Bang!
A violent sound, creating a huge indentation in his heart, and due to inertia, intense friction ignited an inextinguishable flame.
She had confessed to Jin Yan Ting before, saying, “I like him.”
He thought that was powerful enough, but “I like you” was clearly more so.
Jin Shi Yue, usually eloquent, was suddenly speechless at this moment. He held her even tighter, as if wanting to meld her into his bones.
The two were pressed so closely that Lian Li could clearly hear his strong, powerful heartbeat.
His pounding heart, like their first embrace, sent ripples that wrapped around her layer by layer, leaving her nowhere to escape.
Clearly, both of them were the type to have shallow emotions, with little perception of the world, yet they always ignited a prairie fire in each other.
Lian Li was happy dating Jin Shi Yue because he perfectly hit all her sweet spots, precisely targeting her physically and mentally.
Lian Li had seen many people date; she couldn’t control their dating styles, but she knew she didn’t like that kind of dating.
Men, in front of others, would talk about their girlfriends’ bad tempers, their delicate nature, calling them pigs, and other faults, using such belittling to show their doting and love.
This was like giving a slap and then a candy, elevating oneself by demeaning others, and then offering help.
Jin Shi Yue held a prominent status, yet he had never elevated himself in front of her, nor had he belittled her in front of others.
They were in a relationship of extreme equality.
Equality of personhood, equality of emotions.
Jin Shi Yue was occasionally sharp-tongued, but it was never harmful, and Lian Li had never been hurt by him.
He knew her mother had abandoned her, and he knew she had liked Jin Yan Ting before.
He knew many things about her and possessed power that was difficult for others to attain, yet he never used these things to hurt or coerce her.
Instead, he relentlessly demanded responsibility from her, and then slowly taught her how to date, asking for hugs and kisses when parting, holding hands when walking side-by-side, and expecting her to welcome him back when he returned… Lian Li didn’t understand dating and couldn’t immediately perceive his emotional needs, but he didn’t get angry with her, patiently and calmly stating his needs.
To many, having power and status was a form of charm.
But in Lian Li’s eyes, having power and status was a flaw; those kinds of people even said they would bow their heads for love. They lowered their high heads, displaying hidden alms and pity, fundamentally still believing you weren’t worthy of equality with them.
Lian Li was perceptive and had strong self-esteem, detesting unequal relationships.
She liked Jin Shi Yue directly stating his needs and enjoyed every moment with him.
He made her feel like she was a very good person.
“I know,” Jin Shi Yue said hoarsely.
“You know?” Lian Li asked softly, lying on him. “Okay, then you know.”
Jin Shi Yue smiled: “Do you like me more than you liked Jin Yan Ting before?”
Lian Li thought for a moment and said, “You are my boyfriend, it’s different.”
“How is it different?” Jin Shi Yue asked knowingly, wanting to hear the answer from her.
Lian Li liked Jin Yan Ting, but they didn’t end up together; that liking remained a superficial fondness and girlish thoughts.
But her current liking for Jin Shi Yue was integrated into her life, etched into her heart, an indelible affection.
Lian Li said, “I heard a saying before that a person can develop a fondness for many people of the opposite sex in their lifetime.”
There was another part, ‘but there is only one person you truly love,’ which she didn’t say.
Jin Shi Yue cupped the back of her neck with his palm, pulling them apart, his dark eyes looking directly at her: “Who else do you have a fondness for?”
“I don’t remember, many people,” Lian Li said.
Jin Shi Yue was amused by her again, his tone firm: “From now on, you are only allowed to look at me.”
“You ask too much,” Lian Li said, lowering her eyes, her fingers deftly unbuttoning and then re-buttoning his shirt, repeating the action.
Jin Shi Yue’s narrow eyes narrowed, and he said meaningfully, “Wasn’t it satisfying enough just now?”
Lian Li’s buttoning motion paused, and she looked up at him.
The man’s expression was extremely casual, openly being a rogue.
Lian Li sat on his firm thighs, her eyelashes fluttering, and she lowered her gaze to his narrow waist, her voice gentle: “It was very satisfying.”
The air suddenly froze, everything magnified infinitely, the man’s restrained breathing and his sharp, frozen handsome face were incredibly clear.
When Lian Li was sober, her reason far outweighed her wild nature; only when drunk would she recklessly lift his bathrobe and demand to see.
Don’t let her demure appearance fool you; she was like a well-behaved, harmless younger sister, but when she got wild, she was formidable.
She wanted to see, to touch, to poke, to pinch, not letting him touch her, tormenting him like a little devil.
Jin Shi Yue’s full Adam’s apple bobbed, his gaze fixed deeply on her: “Want to do it again?”
Lian Li shook her head: “No, my back hurts.”
As Jin Shi Yue stared intently at her, Lian Li shifted her body forward, sitting below his waist. Jin Shi Yue was about to push into her when she stopped him: “Don’t move.”
She had started the fire, and now she was done.
Lian Li was only wearing a camisole nightgown, completely bare underneath, as he had removed her clothes earlier and hadn’t put them back on.
Jin Shi Yue realized this, his muscles tensing further, and her telling him not to move felt like a punishment.
Lian Li raised her left hand, showing him the bracelet: “This is an item left by my mother. Senior Sister said Brother Qingji’s mother has a good understanding of jewelry. I’m looking for Brother Qingji to find out the origin of the Red Jade Pendant.”
“The information Brother Qingji found indicates that the Red Jade Pendant originally belonged to the Old Madam of the Zhong Family, and was later given to the Fourth Miss Zhong, Zhong Yingyi. Zhong Yingyi might be my mother, and she is now married with children and has a complete family, meaning I might be her illegitimate daughter from outside.”
Because of the uncertainty, and because Lian Li had already felt the pain and processed her negative emotions, she was now calm and composed, her words clear and concise.
“I’ve finished talking about my matters,” Lian Li said, meeting Jin Shi Yue’s gaze and asking him, “Do you have a bad relationship with your mother?”
Jin Shi Yue’s heart burned from her words, and he lowered his head to kiss her: “Neither good nor bad.”
Lian Li pondered for a moment, opened her mouth slightly, and kissed him slowly.
The kiss was pure, yet something was quietly growing.
“What are you doing?” Lian Li complained, “Don’t keep poking me.”
Jin Shi Yue was amused by her all day; he pinched her waist: “Heartless, you’re done enjoying yourself and then you ignore me.”
Lian Li held grudges; she had just been pressed against the office desk by him and her back still hurt, so she didn’t care about him.
“Help me,” Jin Shi Yue tempted her by her ear, “I’ll show you some information later.”
“What information?”
“You’ll know later,” Jin Shi Yue teased.
“Mrs. Jin said I’m not good enough for you,” Lian Li said reluctantly, rubbing against him. “Not good enough usually implies a species issue; I’m human, so if we two are incompatible, it means you’re not human. She didn’t tell me what species you are.”
He touched somewhere, and Lian Li whimpered, asking him, “What species are you?”
