Chapter 259: Meeting Again
Laugh at your sister!
Yue Linhai resisted the urge to hold his forehead, almost forgetting that this guy wasn’t a normal Ghost Controller at all, just a big lump of supernatural polymer.
To be honest, even if Zhang Qian one day discarded this body, it wouldn’t count as anything strange.
“Unfortunately, I’m still too weak now…”
The wound on his hand fully recovered, Zhang Qian clenched his fist, then circulated True Qi through it, but found nothing wrong.
Even so, he couldn’t help sighing: “The ancient greats had methods like rebirth from a drop of blood or even creating something from nothing. My little trick is completely inadequate…”
“Stop, let’s talk about the main issue.” Yue Linhai didn’t want to chat idly anymore with a certain Fierce Ghost whose mental state was strange.
Although time wasn’t urgent now, that didn’t mean Yue Linhai was willing to listen to Zhang Qian boasting about his ability.
His recovery ability was just a bit stronger, nothing to brag about…
“Hmm… where were we?”
Hearing Yue Linhai say this, Zhang Qian retracted his thoughts, “You just said your father met the Captain ahead of time, so he had to separate you out and run to the Ghost Ship to find me?”
Yue Linhai nodded, “Yes, his situation isn’t optimistic, so we’d better hurry over to find him.”
“Moreover, my current state isn’t as good as before. Even if the Captain’s attention is temporarily on my father, I don’t have the ability to protect us for too long.”
Hearing this, Zhang Qian finally noticed that Yue Linhai’s condition looked abnormal.
His entire figure had a somewhat illusory, existent-yet-nonexistent feeling, and the color on his body seemed very faint, just like those black-and-white photos seen before.
Probably something like a Clone’s existence, except Yue Linhai had thrown his second personality’s consciousness onto the Clone?
Zhang Qian had a guess in his mind but didn’t ask directly.
What Yue Linhai said made some sense; they’d already spent quite a bit of time. If the Time Stop ran out, leading the Captain to notice something, that would be bad.
“So where are the Captain and your dad now?” Zhang Qian asked.
Yue Linhai shrugged his shoulders, “The Captain is on the Deck, my father should still be in the sea staring it down.”
Clearly he was saying it was urgent, but Zhang Qian felt there was no part of him that conveyed any sense of urgency.
Whatever, the Captain is most important.
But the Captain actually went up to the Deck; he’d always thought it would stay in the Captain’s Cabin?
Zhang Qian touched his chin, “So can you finish what you’re saying at once? How do we get to the Deck?”
“Don’t rush, I’m thinking about it.” Yue Linhai said, closing his eyes, seemingly really pondering.
Zhang Qian couldn’t figure out what he was doing, so he could only lower his head and fiddle with his hands, checking if there were any overlooked details from before.
Fortunately, Yue Linhai didn’t keep him waiting long and opened his eyes after a moment.
Facing Zhang Qian’s expectant gaze, he shook his head with some toothache, “The Ghost Ship has cut off my connection with my father, so we probably can’t count on his help now. We have to figure out a way out ourselves.”
“You two really are father and son; neither of you is reliable.” Zhang Qian said speechlessly.
“That’s a must…”
Yue Linhai laughed it off to avoid Zhang Qian’s distrustful gaze, then said seriously, “But I do have a way to get to the Deck, probably a bit more reliable than my father.”
“…”
“Fine, fine, I’ll say it directly.”
Under Zhang Qian’s murderous gaze, Yue Linhai finally surrendered, spread his hands and admitted frankly, “There are many books in this Library, among which a few special ones represent keys to different areas. To go to the Deck…”
Damn, shouldn’t have wasted time with this guy.
Zhang Qian turned to leave, inwardly complaining that sure enough, birds of a feather flock together; Yue Linhai’s ability to annoy was no less than his dad’s.
“Hey, wait, I haven’t finished speaking.”
Seeing Zhang Qian about to flip out, Yue Linhai finally stopped joking and spoke openly, “Actually, I can quickly find that book representing the Deck, so can you trust me one more time?”
“…”
Zhang Qian paused his steps and silently walked back.
He didn’t speak, just stood in front of Yue Linhai, staring straight at him.
But the wooden stick in his hand kept swaying intentionally or unintentionally, as if selecting a suitable angle, planning to strike fatally at a good opportunity.
“Cough cough.”
Yue Linhai selectively ignored Zhang Qian’s threat, then reached out his hand and took that very thin Notebook.
Clearing his throat, he said, “My father and the Ghost Ship’s Captain were old acquaintances, even friends, so he knows a lot of information about the Ghost Ship.”
“You understand my situation; what he knows is basically what I know.”
With that, Yue Linhai opened that Notebook that made Zhang Qian somewhat wary.
Probably because the surrounding time was still in a static state, nothing eerie happened after opening the Notebook.
Seeing he was fine, Zhang Qian leaned over to take a look.
The content inside didn’t seem to be simple notes, because on the first page, besides text, there was also a black-and-white photo pasted.
The man in the photo looked very sunny, smiling brilliantly at the camera.
It was hard to connect him to that Administrator who looked like a mummy, but looking at those eyes and the man’s bone structure, he was probably indeed the Administrator’s former self.
Yue Linhai’s voice continued at this time, “The Library, or rather the Archive, is a rather special area.”
“In the Captain’s original plan, Paradise, besides helping Ghost Controllers nearing Resurgence to suppress Fierce Ghost Revival and let them live out their years peacefully, also intended to use them as combat reserves.”
“Other areas might have entertainment functions, but the Library is entirely for dealing with supernatural matters. The various books inside record real Supernatural Events and Fierce Ghosts, with such a vast number that together they are unmatched in the world.”
“And information always needs to be read by people; finding specific information among so many books isn’t easy, so the Captain used some clever tricks.”
Yue Linhai said this and flipped to the next page, revealing a Pen clipped between the pages.
Picking up the Pen, he slowly wrote “Deck” on the yellowed paper.
Immediately after, those characters quickly disappeared, turning into ink that floated up, slowly forming a Thread that connected the Pen to a certain existence.
“Let’s go, or I’m really afraid that old guy can’t hold on.” Yue Linhai chuckled lightly and took the lead, walking forward along the Thread.
