Chapter 185: Counter-ambush
The second morning, Hozuki Murgetsu, Kusarinotsurumaru, and Suikazan Fuguya appeared together at a certain beach.
There were two corpses on the beach.
Each corpse’s head had a hole in it, and judging by the size of the hole, it was pierced by the Water Gun Technique.
Kusarinotsurumaru held the Needle-Blade Sewing Needle and inserted the Sewing Needle into the tiny hole in the Mist Ninja corpse’s head, bringing out brain matter.
“Hmm, no mistake, these are fresh corpses from this morning.”
Suikazan Fuguya considered himself a pure villain, but in front of Kusarinotsurumaru, he felt somewhat inferior.
How could a person be so cruel and perverted.
When Kusarinotsurumaru encounters enemies, he doesn’t kill them immediately; instead, he sews the corpses onto trees or stones with the Needle-Blade Sewing Needle and steel wire, then patiently watches as the enemies twitch and slowly turn into corpses.
In the Land of Water, Kusarinotsurumaru’s name could make any nobles tremble in fear.
When Kusarinotsurumaru appears in a certain town, the Land of Water Daimyo has to send an inquiry letter to the Hidden Mist Village for it.
Suikazan Fuguya said: “Hozuki Murgetsu, do you have anything else to say? If not, tonight we’ll go to the hillside in the intelligence and set up an ambush in advance.”
Hozuki Murgetsu said again: “This is just one place; at least three places have been discovered, and all possibilities must be ruled out.”
By noon, Hozuki Murgetsu had found four Mist Ninja corpses and said nothing more.
Suikazan Fuguya said: “Leave two battalions to play with Copper Fox, let him think we’ve taken the bait. The other battalions will hurry on foot to Konoha’s ambush location and counter-ambush them.”
Deep in the woods.
Aries said: “Captain, a large group of enemies has stepped onto the beach!”
Yoru let out a long sigh of relief in his heart; the Mist Ninja prisoners were almost used up.
The Mist Ninja completely believed that scroll; they thought Konoha’s 5 battalions would arrive at that mountain tomorrow for an ambush.
So they set out today, a day early, to counter-ambush.
What they didn’t know was that everything in that intelligence scroll was fake.
He had discussed it with the Kiiroinu Captain, who would temporarily change the battle plan and set out early.
The Kiiroinu Captain would strictly monitor everyone participating to prevent anyone from leaking information early.
Yoru felt it was too difficult; he had to fight the Mist Ninja to the death while also guarding against enemies within Konoha.
Midnight.
5 Mist Ninja battalions arrived at the bottom of a certain hillside.
Suikazan Fuguya took out the intelligence scroll and said to the simple map on the scroll:
“Konoha Anbu battalions are ambushing us on the back side of the hillside.
Kusarinotsurumaru, take your battalion to the back side of the hillside and set traps; be sure to wipe out the Konoha Anbu battalion’s living forces in one go.
Two Konoha battalions are ambushing us on the north side of the hillside; two Mist Ninja battalions go to the mountainous terrain on the north side of the hillside to place exploding tags.
Two Uchiha battalions are ambushing us on the south side of the hillside; Hozuki Murgetsu, your abilities are suitable for dealing with the Uchiha Clan, so we’ll lead teams to set traps.”
Suikazan Fuguya firmly gripped the intelligence scroll and wouldn’t let others see it, so when assigning tasks, Suikazan Fuguya became the commander of this sword-seizing mission.
No matter how discontent Hozuki Murgetsu was, he could only follow Suikazan Fuguya’s arrangements.
The Mist Ninja dispersed separately.
On the back side of the hillside, the mountaintop blocked the line of sight.
A Hyuga Ninja from the Hippopotamus Squad suddenly raised his hand.
Shadowy figures appeared on the mountaintop; the Mist Ninja had come!
Copper Fox Jonin’s enemy-enticing mission was extremely successful; the Mist Ninja had entered Konoha’s encirclement!
Kiiroinu couldn’t help but glance extra at Copper Fox behind him to the side.
Copper Fox had just returned, still breathing heavily.
Copper Fox had performed too outstandingly; the enemy-enticing mission was so perfect.
Kiiroinu slowly raised his hand, preparing hand seals.
A certain instant later.
“Explode!”
Over a hundred exploding tags detonated suddenly!
These exploding tags were personally set by Kiiroinu; this was the exploding tag trap secret jutsu that killed Senju Nawaki, and these Mist Ninja hadn’t discovered it at all.
Yoru was the first to charge up.
After the explosion, smoke and dust enveloped the mountaintop.
The Needle-Blade Sewing Needle suddenly pierced through the smoke and dust, heading straight for Yoru, who was in the lead.
Clang!
The Needle-Blade Sewing Needle stabbed at Yoru’s heart but was deflected by Bronze Light.
Both Yoru and Kusarinotsurumaru were extremely surprised.
The slender Needle-Blade Sewing Needle had collided with his Bronze Light at such speed yet hadn’t broken.
Kusarinotsurumaru was shocked by Copper Fox’s absolute defense; he had used full strength but failed to pierce Copper Fox.
The Needle-Blade Sewing Needle failed and was pulled back by steel wire.
He immediately adjusted his strategy, preparing to bind Copper Fox tightly with steel wire.
Yoru took several randomly flying kunai head-on and used Water Style: Water Severing Wave.
Screams of agony rang out from the exploding tag smoke and dust.
The smoke and dust was sliced apart, revealing the Mist Ninja inside who had been bisected at the waist.
Then Kiiroinu’s Fire Release arrived.
An ellipsoidal fireball fifty meters long and over twenty meters wide instantly engulfed the entire mountaintop.
The Kiiroinu Captain’s Fire Release was enormous in scale.
The Mist Ninja hadn’t prepared the Mist Technique in time, nor had they combined Water Style, instantly falling into a huge disadvantage.
The Fire Release dispersed the thick smoke from the exploding tags, exposing the tragedy behind the thick smoke.
At a rough glance, there were at least over 40 corpses on the ground.
Exploding tags, Water Severing Wave, Fire Release—the three axes had already broken this Mist Ninja battalion.
The surviving Mist Ninja flipped over the mountaintop and ran down the mountain.
Kiiroinu and Yoru stood on the mountaintop, looking at the Mist Ninja on the hillside.
Their bodies were covered in large and small explosion or fire burns; they looked miserable, and actually were very miserable.
Kiiroinu said: “Do not pursue a cornered enemy; secure the victory first. I’ll go south to support the two Uchiha battalions; Fox, you go north to support Yamashiro Aoba and Gekko Shizuma.”
Yoru thought to himself, just what I wanted; Yamashiro Aoba and Gekko Shizuma were Hatake Sakumo’s supporters and couldn’t die here.
He led his squad northward.
In the distance, the two Mist Ninja battalions tracking Yoru arrived belatedly.
Yoru said: “Strike while the Mist Technique hasn’t formed yet; quickly gain the advantage!”
In the mountainous terrain on the north side, Shirakumo Hayama was commanding a squad, following Captain Gekko Shizuma as they charged toward the Mist Ninja.
The exploding tag traps they had set were discovered early by the Mist Ninja; the first wave of dozens of exploding tags only killed about ten Mist Ninja.
The nearby Yamashiroji Battalion wasn’t faring much better.
The advantage wasn’t as great as imagined; their two battalions were facing three Mist Ninja battalions.
Gekko Shizuma shouted: “Kill those dozen or so ninja who are joining forces to use the Mist Technique first!”
Once surrounded by the Mist Technique, the Konoha side would be like they were blind, with visibility under 2 meters.
At that moment, a unique water line impact sound came from overhead.
A water beam swept across.
Of the ten ninja joining forces to use the Mist Technique, six were sliced in half at the waist by the water beam.
The remaining four Mist Ninja were farther away and barely dodged the Water Style.
Shirakumo Hayama looked up and saw Anbu Copper Fox leaping over.
After landing, Yoru said to Gekko Shizuma:
“Gekko Shizuma Jonin, leave this place to my squad; please go support the nearby Yamashiroji Battalion.”
Gekko Shizuma nodded repeatedly; if it was Anbu Copper Fox who had come, then there was no pressure here.
On the south side of the hillside, Suikazan Fuguya dodged a massive fireball and angrily shouted:
“Walking Witch! You this cheap woman! How dare you deceive me!”
