Chapter 209: Magic Continent Departure
“No, you’re welcome.”
Rose lowered her head shyly, her speech becoming a little clumsy. When Sang Jing Wen and the others followed Roger downstairs, this was the scene they saw.
Xiao Yi Fei quietly said to Sang Jing Wen, “Why do I feel like my sister is quite popular with women?”
Sang Jing Wen shot him a glare and quickly walked forward, “Sang Sang, Mr. Roger said you wanted to cook dinner yourself, or should we do it? What do you want to eat?”
Sang Chu glanced at Rose and asked, “What about you? What do you want to eat?”
“I, I’m fine with anything.”
Actually, Rose really wanted to say that she couldn’t eat, but looking into Sang Chu’s eyes, she couldn’t bring herself to say it. Lu Min Feng walked over and looked at them, “Then let’s make dinner plentiful, so everyone can choose what they like to eat.”
Roger looked at Rose, wanting to speak but stopping himself. Seeing her eyes full of joy and unable to refuse, he could only silently stand behind her.
Sang Chu intended to step away and not be a third wheel, but Rose, seeing her about to leave, quickly reached out and grabbed her. However, the warmth from Sang Chu’s body stung her hand, causing her to hastily let go, “I, I’m sorry, I, I didn’t mean to! Are, are you okay?”
“I’m fine. It’s you, did you get burned?”
Sang Chu hadn’t expected Rose to be burned by her own body temperature. This was definitely not an ordinary ghost; ghosts wouldn’t be like this!
Roger hugged Rose with concern, looking at the red mark on her fair, tender hand. He gently placed her hand in his palm and used his ghost energy to heal her, “Is it better?”
“I, I’m fine.”
Sang Chu: “Next time, if you don’t want me to leave, just call me. I’m right here.”
Rose looked at Roger, then at Sang Chu, and lowered her head, her voice sounding as if it were stuck in her throat, “But, but you’re leaving in a few days.”
Sang Chu looked at Roger, “Can Rose use things like Spirit Stones? I have a type of Communication Spirit Stone here that allows for communication and seeing each other.”
Hearing this, Rose looked at Roger excitedly, hoping for a satisfactory answer.
Roger looked at Rose with helplessness and heartache. He knew Rose longed for friends. She had been alone her whole life. Even after he promised the old butler to come to the castle to take care of her, it couldn’t replace the presence of a friend.
“You can keep it, but you can’t touch it, understand?”
Rose: “Mhm, I understand. Sang Sang, thank you. Can you chat with me often in the future?”
She heard her brother call her that, and she wanted to call her that too!
Sang Chu: “Of course. Shall I help you put it on the table then?”
Rose: “You can hold it for Roger. If I miss you, he can help me contact you, okay?”
“Okay.”
Sang Chu handed the Communication Stone to Roger and nodded slightly, implying, I promise to help you find medicine!
Roger instantly understood Sang Chu’s meaning and accepted the Spirit Stone, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
After eating and drinking their fill, Roger led Sang Chu and the others upstairs.
“Sleep soundly tonight. I will keep watch for you.”
Sang Chu: “Thank you.”
Although she didn’t know what would happen tonight, the fact that Roger was willing to keep watch for them indicated that whatever appeared at night was definitely not simple.
Sang Chu couldn’t sleep. She was very curious about what was happening outside but didn’t dare to go out.
Tu You: “Why don’t you let Xiao Guang go out and record a video?”
“That’s true.”
Xiao Guang quietly slipped out through the crack in the door and happened to see Roger playing a ghost version of “Fruit Ninja” with a fruit knife in the hallway. The scene was too shocking. Xiao Guang recorded a bit and then slipped away.
After seeing the image, Sang Chu deleted it, got into bed, pulled up her quilt, and hid her head under it. With a series of fluid movements, she and Tu You huddled together under the quilt, trembling.
Sang Chu: “I hope Roger can help keep watch tonight too!”
Tu You: “Mhm, mhm. Each of them has a strength above Xue You. I don’t know if they’re afraid of the whip. It’s too terrifying; I can’t even defeat one.”
“As if I could defeat them. You said it was safe, but I think this station is the most dangerous place on the entire Magic Continent!”
Tu You: “Agreed!”
Seven days later
Rose held Sang Chu’s hand, looking at her with reluctance. As the train approached, her reluctance grew, “Sang Sang, can you come visit us when you have time?”
“Mhm, next time, I’ll bring a friend. She’s also very nice, and you’ll definitely like her.”
“Is it Mu Xue you mentioned? How is she now?”
Sang Chu shook her head, “I’m not sure, but I know she’ll be fine. Next time, I’ll bring her to play with you.”
“Mhm, mhm, the train is here. Goodbye, Sang Sang. Be safe!”
“Thank you. I’m leaving. Take good care of yourself.”
“Mhm, mhm!”
Watching the train carry Sang Chu, Sang Jing Wen, and their group away, Rose turned and hugged Roger, who was standing beside her, burying her head in his chest, “Will Sang Sang leave and never come back like An An?”
Roger looked at her with heartache, gently stroking her long hair with affection, “Sang Chu is very strong. She has also contracted a Hellhound and the Ice Snow Great Demon King, so she will definitely be safe. Didn’t she give you a Communication Spirit Jade? You can talk to her often.”
“No, what if she gets annoyed with me? I’ll wait for her to contact me.”
Seeing Rose like this, a hint of sinister hatred flashed in Roger’s eyes. If it weren’t for that damned Gardener, his Rose would never have become like this.
His Rose should have bloomed freely under the sunshine, but because of that Gardener, he shouldn’t have let that Gardener die so easily!
Sensing Roger’s slightly off mood, Rose looked up and gently cupped his cheeks with her hands, “Roger, I’m fine now. Don’t be unhappy. I want to sleep. Can you carry me upstairs?”
“Okay, I’ll sleep with you for a while. Later, when Sang Chu returns to her world, I’ll help you contact her.”
“Mhm.”
As Roger picked her up, Rose wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning against his shoulder.
On the train
Tu You handed the whip back to Qin Si Mian. Sang Chu took the opportunity to ask, “Mian Ge, um, let me think, is there any medicine to heal Rose?”
Qin Si Mian was stunned when he heard Rose’s name. After putting away the whip, he said coldly, “Switch to Demon Spirit Cultivation. Go find Qin Si Feng, get a drop of his blood, and have him give you that umbrella. Then, send a message to Roger to come find you. You give him the umbrella and the Demon Spirit Cultivation Manual you got from the Demon Realm. He’ll know what to do.”
Speaking of which, Qin Si Mian looked at Sang Chu with a half-smile, “You’ve latched onto a golden thigh. Roger is incredibly wealthy. Back then, to find Rose, he went through immense hardship and used all his earnings from a hundred years as a stake to get an opportunity. Unfortunately, he encountered an idiot who returned all that immense wealth to them. Now you’re benefiting!”
Sang Chu was shocked by Qin Si Mian’s words. She possessed a lot of Spirit Stone Jade, which was a huge sum for many people, but to Qin Si Mian, she was still a pauper. Just how wealthy was this “incredibly wealthy” person he spoke of!
“Can Roger leave the Magic Continent freely?”
Qin Si Mian sneered, “The Station Guardian must at least be someone of my cultivation level. Do you think one world can trap us? If it weren’t for some damn agreement with the higher-ups, I wouldn’t bother with you poor folks. You’re all so poor your pockets are cleaner than your faces, yet you’re so arrogant, thinking you’re the best in the world. Heh.”
He shot Sang Chu a glare, as if he couldn’t contain his anger, and lowered his voice, “Annoying! Get out!”
Qin Si Mian kicked Sang Chu. Even though she was prepared, she still fell and felt dizzy.
“Qin Si Mian, you damn bastard, you greedy merchant!”
