Chapter 231: Contract with Zuo Xue Feng
Sang Chu looked at Zuo Xue Feng again, seeing his equally bewildered expression, and sighed helplessly, “Rabbit, put it away for now.”
“What do they want them for?”
Tu You grumbled as he put everything into the space link. What didn’t fit was then thrown into his storage ring. As he was putting things away, he suddenly laughed, “A Chu, have you ever taken a good look at your jade bracelet space?”
“What?”
Sang Chu didn’t understand why Tu You suddenly brought this up and asked, “What’s wrong with the space?”
“Take a look.”
Hearing his teasing voice, Sang Chu, not understanding, glanced at her jade bracelet space and then froze.
When did her jade bracelet space accumulate so much miscellaneous junk?
Pots, bowls, ladles, basins, scrap metal, everything was there.
“I, when did I collect all this?”
Seeing her flustered expression, Tu You immediately brightened. “When you were in the Demon Realm, you picked up the scrap they were discarding. Some were usable, some were not. You gave the usable ones to Sang Jing Wen and the others to pick through. The unusable ones just piled up here.”
Tu You didn’t know what kind of habit Sang Chu had, collecting everything. The vast jade bracelet space, besides growing spirit plants, monster plants, and spirit birds, was entirely used to store things she’d acquired from otherworlds.
These were all very cheap. If she found a good item, it wouldn’t be a loss, but seeing more and more junk, Tu You felt a bit disheartened.
That’s why he thought that since no one would use this battle armor, it shouldn’t be taken, as it just took up space.
Sang Chu: “You’ve said so much, but you just want me to not take these things, right? No way, what if they’re useful in another world someday? Don’t miss out, just pack them all up.”
Tu You helplessly packed the spherical battle armor, one by one, into his own space. “One day, your peers will complain that you’re a trash collector~”
“I don’t care. Anyway, my space is big. If it gets too full, I’ll just buy more storage spaces like storage rings.”
Hearing this, Tu You’s hand paused. He looked down at his stomach. When did he start acting like Sang Chu, storing storage rings inside his storage ring?
The space in his belly wasn’t huge, but it was mostly filled with storage rings.
The storage rings were full, and when they couldn’t hold any more, he’d put them into another storage ring, like nesting dolls.
“I’ve become as shabby as you.”
Tu You’s voice was filled with despair, but Sang Chu comforted him, “If you don’t say it and I don’t say it, no one will know. Besides, it’s always better to be prepared. This is all for the sake of some sudden unknown event.”
Sang Chu was truly afraid. The apocalypse had come very suddenly. After the sun set, it never rose again.
Instead, a blood moon appeared.
Acid rain fell, and the plants and animals on the earth instantly melted and disappeared. Most of the people corroded by the rain turned into zombies.
It all seemed to happen in an instant.
It was too sudden.
So sudden that she still felt scared thinking about it.
She didn’t want to be so passive again, so she carried many things with her. But she was afraid some things might not be usable. Now, she wore the jade bracelet space, had a storage ring on her finger, and a space link around her waist. In every storage space, besides water and food, there were large quantities of weapons. If any one storage space failed, she had backups, which made her less panicked.
Listening to Sang Chu talk with the unseen person opposite them, Li Yue and Zuo Xue Feng exchanged glances.
From their conversation, it was clear that Sang Chu seemed to have other secrets.
Zuo Xue Feng looked at Li Yue and Hua Xi. They had mentioned before that Sang Chu had contracted them, but they hadn’t felt any negative effects. This gave Zuo Xue Feng some different ideas. At least, Sang Chu represented an opportunity for them, a chance to survive.
“Sang Chu, I’m willing to leave with you.”
Sang Chu looked at Zuo Xue Feng. “Are you sure?”
“Yes. I have nothing left here anyway. My family and friends are all gone. Even if I wanted revenge, I wouldn’t know where to start. It’s better to leave with you; at least I can survive.”
Sang Chu handed him a card. “If you’re sure, drip your blood onto it. Once your blood touches it, the connection will be confirmed.”
Only with consent could people from other worlds be taken away. Once taken, it meant they gave up their chance as natives; they could never turn back.
But Sang Chu didn’t think there was anything wrong with that. By signing the contract, they knew what they were doing. It was a win-win situation, mutually agreed upon.
After contracting with Zuo Xue Feng, he expected some sense of restraint, but apart from placing Sang Chu on a pedestal deep in his heart, nothing seemed to have changed.
“A Chu, what do we do now?”
Zuo Xue Feng’s mental control was stronger than Li Yue’s and Hua Xi’s. He could call Sang Chu without being affected by the contract to call her Master.
Sang Chu: “Xi Rui is hunting. The world I’m in has limited food, so we need to bring back a large amount of prey. I thought we could go into the city to buy some, but since we can’t enter, we’ll spend some time hunting outside the city. Oh, here, take this.”
Sang Chu handed Zuo Xue Feng a blue long sword. The hilt was adorned with a demon core from a phantom demon. Although its illusionary power wasn’t strong, if used properly, it would be a significant help.
Li Yue’s glasses had returned to her hands. Now, when she looked at the long sword, her eyes lit up. She walked forward in three quick steps, examining the long sword closely.
“The energy halo on this sword is so strange!”
After not seeing her for a long time, Sang Chu had almost forgotten the special nature of Li Yue’s glasses. Perhaps bringing Li Yue and the others back to the apocalypse might yield unexpected surprises.
“This is a demon core. Dr. Li, if you want it, I can give it to you for research.”
“Can I?”
“Of course. There’s a laboratory in this carriage. Come with me.”
Sang Chu walked out first. Outside the door were Xi Rui and Sai Yue. Xi Rui was covered in blood, standing with a cold expression.
Sang Chu: “Xi Rui? What happened?”
Xi Rui: “A Chu, there are pursuers, and their methods are very strange.”
Upon hearing this, Zuo Xue Feng knew it was the people pursuing him from Imperial Capital Star. He quickly asked, “Where are they? I, I’ll go distract them now, you guys hurry and leave!”
Xi Rui rolled her eyes at him. “With your skills, you’d only be sending yourself to your death.” She then pointed to an empty room and said, “The corpses are all inside. Go take a look, it’s very strange.”
“Let’s go.”
Watching Sang Chu, Xi Rui, and Sai Yue leave, Zuo Xue Feng stiffly turned to Li Yue. “What, what did she just say?”
Hua Xi: “The corpses.”
Li Yue couldn’t help but feel a chill run down her spine. She said uncertainly, “Maybe they’re not Imperial Capital Star royalty soldiers. Let’s go take a look.”
Sorry, I’m late today. Someone in my family is sick, and I’m accompanying them at the hospital. If I can’t update normally tomorrow, I’ll make up for it at a later time.
I hope everyone stays healthy and away from illness.
