Chapter 234: Leaving
A month passed in the blink of an eye.
Before the Time-Space Train was due to arrive, Sang Chu had put away all her Cards. The Carriage was also stored within a Card, leaving her and the Rabbit to sleep in the trees.
In a half-awake state, Sang Chu vaguely heard a whistle. The moment she opened her eyes, she was already on the train.
Qin Si Mian: “Where did you go stealing from this time? You look like you haven’t slept.”
Sang Chu: “Mian Ge, if there was any stealing, it wasn’t me. Someone like me, who could I steal from?”
Qin Si Mian snorted. The Little Elves he personally awakened were all capable and pure-hearted children. Yet, following this peculiar woman, they had actually learned to steal!
When Tu You asked him how to use the stolen Battle Armor, he was almost driven to death.
Qin Si Mian: “Next time you dare let Tu You do any Petty Theft, I’ll make your Train Ticket cost several times more.”
Sang Chu’s eyes widened, and she looked at Qin Si Mian in disbelief: “No, the Train Ticket price can just go up like that!”
“What do you think.”
Tu You guiltily hid in Sang Chu’s hoodie, afraid to face Qin Si Mian. Sang Chu said helplessly, “I know, it won’t happen again. Mian Ge, that, that Battle Armor…”
Qin Si Mian: “I’ve already listed it for you, anonymously. Next time you bring stolen goods here to sell, be careful, I’ll deal with you!”
With that, Qin Si Mian unexpectedly kicked Sang Chu. Even though she was prepared, she was hit squarely. This time, it was clear Qin Si Mian was angry.
That kick made Sang Chu’s internal organs churn.
“Cough, cough, cough!!!”
“Is Qin Si Mian on explosives today!”
“Crazy!”
Sang Chu lay on the ground, unable to get up for a long time. Tu You awkwardly ran to her: “I didn’t know Mian Ge would be so angry. I’m sorry, A Chu.”
“It has nothing to do with you. Qin Si Mian is moody and arrogant, with his own set of moral standards, which is normal. Let’s just not bring stolen goods to him next time.”
Tu You: “Still, still stealing?”
Sang Chu looked at his frightened expression and smiled, “Stealing is certainly not a good thing, but sometimes, special means are necessary. Don’t worry, Qin Si Mian is just angry that you tried to sell stolen goods on the train, not that you shouldn’t handle special situations specially.”
“I hope so.”
Tu You had been thoroughly scolded on the train before, and the thought of stealing still made him a little apprehensive. Sang Chu didn’t say much more, just slowly got up from the ground after recovering.
There was a long distance from the City Wall to the city center. She wasn’t in a hurry to go back, so she took out the House Building Machines Tu You had brought back. After setting the programs, she simultaneously sealed the city from above and below.
When Li Yue was released, she looked at the strange sky: “A Chu, is this your World?”
“Yes, the situation isn’t very good yet. Once the roof is done, I’ll place some Dragon Pearls on top for illumination, so it won’t be in darkness all the time.”
Li Yue didn’t know that the Apocalypse was always eternal night, so she didn’t know what Sang Chu’s Dragon Pearls were. She was just curious why the entire sky above the city, and even underground, was being sealed.
“Acid rain, it’s acid rain! Everyone, hide quickly!”
A scream came from not far away, followed by a torrential downpour.
The area where Sang Chu was standing was already sealed overhead, so she didn’t notice it at first.
Sang Chu: “Rabbit, Dr. Li, Xi Rui, Sai Yue, Big Brother Zuo, Sister Hua Xi, quickly operate the Optical Computers and House Building Machines. We need to seal the sky above the city as quickly as possible. I’ll send you all the data for Hai Cheng!”
Xi Rui and Sai Yue had become accustomed to Optical Computers during their time in the Monster Transformation World, so operating them was no problem.
Now, all they needed was to transmit the data to them to use directly. With seven House Building Machines working together, most of the acid rain was already being blocked.
The Magic Beasts all ran under the roof to take shelter from the rain.
Han Song supported Tang Lei, who was being corroded by the acid rain, his eyes red: “Xiao Tang, the City Lord must be back. Hold on, I’ll take you to her right away!”
Being hit by acid rain could lead to death or infection into a Zombie. He couldn’t just watch his brother die or turn into a Zombie!
Meanwhile, Zhou Changyi glared fiercely at the woman cowering nearby, his hands trembling with anger, wishing he could kill her immediately to vent his rage.
Zhao Shijun quickly grabbed his shoulder: “Don’t be impulsive. Let’s find the City Lord first. She should be ahead. If we follow the City Wall, we should be able to see her.”
The overhead sealing was being built in one direction. As long as they went in that direction, they should encounter her.
Han Song directly carried Tang Lei on his back: “Don’t be scared, Xiao Tang, we’re going now!”
He rushed straight in the direction Zhao Shijun pointed. Zhou Changyi pointed at the woman behind the crowd: “Wang Jin, keep an eye on her. If anything happens to Xiao Tang, I’ll take her life!”
“Okay, Brother Zhou, you go too. I’ll watch her here!”
Wang Jin looked at these ordinary people. If it weren’t for the need to develop the land, they would all be dead. But when the acid rain started, Tang Lei went to save them. He never expected this woman to pull Tang Lei to shield her from the acid rain, while she herself entered the sheltered area first!
Wang Yuting’s face turned pale with fear. She looked at Wang Jin with teary eyes: “Brother Wang, I, I didn’t mean to. I was just too scared at the time. I, I didn’t mean to. Please spare me.”
The ordinary people quickly moved away from her, afraid of being implicated. As the crowd parted, Wang Yuting was exposed.
Wang Jin’s face was ashen, and he looked at her expressionlessly: “Intentionally? How could a mere ordinary person hold back a Supernatural Ability User? Let’s not even discuss that. If you dare pull Xiao Tang out to shield you from the acid rain, don’t blame us for being rude.”
Wang Jin had secretly advanced his Strength to Level Seven during this time, but he hadn’t told anyone except his brothers.
Zhou Changyi found the ordinary people in the Base very strange. He had already warned his brothers to be careful, but he didn’t expect that Tang Lei, that silly boy, would foolishly go to save them!
Hopefully, the City Lord has a way to Heal the silly boy who was hit by acid rain.
“City Lord! City Lord!!!”
Sang Chu was about to leave when she heard Han Song’s heart-wrenching shouts. She stopped and turned to see Han Song running towards her desperately, carrying someone on his back.
“What’s wrong?”
Sang Chu walked towards them. Zhou Changyi spoke first: “City Lord, Xiao Tang was injured by the acid rain. Do you have any way to help?”
“Injured by acid rain?”
Sang Chu stepped forward and examined his wounds. Tang Lei’s body was already riddled with holes from corrosion. Li Yue paused with the Medical Pod in her hand, frowning slightly: “A Chu, this, this wound is poisonous! The Medical Pod probably won’t work.”
“I know. Xi Rui, you and Sai Yue go count the injured Magic Beasts, then move them into the Carriage. We’re heading to the Main City now.”
