Chapter 131: 131 I’m Hanging Up, Goodbye
After seeing off Han Yixuan, Wang Heng returned to the dormitory, quickly washed up, and climbed onto his upper bunk.
Fu Hanwen asked, “You’re going to sleep this early?”
Wang Heng: “Yeah.”
“Then I’ll turn off the light for you.”
Fu Hanwen turned off the dormitory’s overhead light, then returned to his desk and turned on his desk lamp, continuing his ranked match. Tang Hexing and Wang Ke also quietly turned on their desk lamps and continued their entertainment activities.
They didn’t notice that when Wang Heng got into bed, he was holding a small hamster in his hand.
After all, the weather was cold, and running to the rooftop all the time was both time-consuming and meant blowing cold wind. Whispering under the quilt wouldn’t be discovered by the roommates any more than usual, and it was much more convenient and quick.
Covering his head with the quilt, Wang Heng brought the hamster to his face. In the dark quilt, he couldn’t see its movements or expression, but the voice was exceptionally clear.
“You’re not thinking of shifting blame again, are you?”
Wang Heng cleared his throat and whispered, “No plans to shift blame, just asking a question. Before today, has Pei Ningle met Han Yixuan?”
The hamster sighed and said in an old-mannish tone, “Do you know what you’re doing right now? You’ve played StarCraft and Red Alert, right? What you’re doing is like using a cheat tool right at the start of the game, and not just any cheat—it’s full map vision. Doing it this way takes away all the fun of the game…”
Wang Heng sneered, “But I’m one against four, that’s already hell-level difficulty, no need to add more. Just tell me straight, have they met?”
Hamster: “Okay, yes.”
Wang Heng: “You sure?”
Hamster: “Of course, and more than once. They’re almost best friends.”
Wang Heng pondered: “So today they were indeed acting against me… Probably not just today, last time at hot pot I already felt something was off. Hey, why didn’t you remind me earlier?”
The hamster asked in surprise, “Does that need reminding? The girl making friends on her own, what’s that got to do with you?”
Wang Heng: “Heh, how could it have nothing to do with me? I can already guess what Han Yixuan wants to do; she’ll definitely use Pei Ningle as an excuse to come find me. That silly girl Pei Ningle is really one-track minded; can she really hang out with this kind of plastic best friend? No, not just any plastic—poisonous plastic!”
The hamster said leisurely, “But it doesn’t matter to you anyway. After all, the time you spend with Pei Ningle has decreased now, so avoiding Han Yixuan is even simpler. And to tell you the truth, Han Yixuan is indeed busy studying; her goal is top of the major, so she definitely won’t have time to bother you lately.”
“That’s good…” Wang Heng let go of his hand. “Back to the cage, climb yourself; I’m too lazy to get out of bed.”
The hamster protested, “Hey, this one-way train ticket isn’t fair!”
Wang Heng: “Stop nagging, climb for your lord!”
Hamster: “Believe it or not, I’ll leave a few turds on your pillow?”
Wang Heng: “Believe it or not, you’ll be able to dance every day from now on?”
“…Fine, you win.” The hamster grumbled and ran off.
From the upper bunk down the stairs, then jumping onto the chair, then onto the table, back to the cage—smooth as flowing water. The dormitory only had desk lamps, the background light dim enough, and with those three roommates staring at their mobile phones and computer screens, they naturally didn’t see the hamster’s parkour.
Lying on the bed, Wang Heng glanced at his mobile phone, checking the calendar and exam dates.
University final exams were different from high school; they didn’t bunch all subjects together—they were staggered. The earliest one was in less than ten days, and the latest in nearly a month. But no matter what, finals were indeed right around the corner.
Listening to Fu Hanwen typing on the keyboard and clicking the mouse, plus Wang Ke’s occasional silly laughs, Wang Heng got a bit worried. Han Yixuan hadn’t shown any danger yet, but the risk of failing a course seemed to hang over these three roommates’ heads.
Suddenly, he said loudly, “Next weekend is the computer fundamentals exam, and then electronics foundation and general physics in the following days. Have you all reviewed?”
The dormitory instantly went quiet. The silly laughs, keyboard, and mouse sounds all stopped.
But just two seconds later, Fu Hanwen continued controlling the hero on the screen, jungling while saying, “We reviewed.”
Wang Heng: “Really?”
Tang Hexing said, “Weren’t you out today, not at school? Actually, we’ve already reviewed.”
Wang Heng: “One day enough?”
Wang Ke said deeply, “Of course not, we just tried a bit, then felt…”
Fu Hanwen: “The workload is a bit daunting.”
Tang Hexing: “So we wanted to relax a bit before continuing.”
Wang Heng scoffed, “Give me a break. I remind you, having a bit of procrastination habit is fine usually, but not for finals. Our school’s requirements are pretty strict; if they say you fail, you fail—no negotiation.”
Fu Hanwen: “I kinda regret not studying arts stream back then…”
Wang Heng: “Arts stream doesn’t teach esports either; you’d still fail the same!”
At this point, Tang Hexing had a sudden inspiration: “Right, Teacher Wang, your recent part-time job isn’t tutoring high school students? How about helping us out too, tutor us a bit?”
Wang Heng: “Occasional volunteer work is fine, but every time is too much.”
Tang Hexing: “We can give you remuneration too!”
Wang Heng: “What remuneration?”
Tang Hexing thought for a moment and offered what he thought was a pretty generous condition: “We can be your wingmen, help you woo girls!”
Wang Heng: “…Goodbye, just fail then.”

The night gradually deepened.
Ye Xun completed today’s study plan, closed the mistake notebook, and prepared to go to bed.
But just as she was about to stand up, thinking of tomorrow’s agreement, she suddenly felt a bit excited.
“Oh no, what if I can’t sleep like this and have no energy tomorrow?”
Thinking it over, the young girl took out her diary again and opened it. Writing a few more lines might vent the excess excitement and calm her down?
【In another month it’s final exams. I asked Dad, and he said he definitely won’t have time and won’t let me go back to Lin City. This is the second-to-last winter holiday of my high school years, possibly the last long holiday with more free time. By third year of senior high school, school definitely won’t give much holiday. So besides homework, what to do this winter holiday?】
“Hee hee…” The young girl thought for a bit, chuckled lightly, and continued writing.
【What else? Of course continue studying! With the tutor there, math has to become a strong subject! Besides studying, it’s combat; last time I only used rear naked choke on him, there’s still crossface, Kimura lock, triangle choke. Oh right, guillotine choke too!】
Imagining those close body contact scenes in jujutsu, the young girl blushed shyly.
