Chapter 222: Dividing The Chicken
The distance between both sides was very close. As soon as Chang Ning launched his attack, Ostrich and Medic heard the noise behind them.
“Who’s there!”
Ostrich and Medic ignored the Beggar’s Chicken in the fire, grabbed their service pistols beside them, stood up, and aimed at the place behind them where the sound came from.
Since the distance between them was less than five meters, this distance was negligible to Chang Ning. He only needed one dash to reach the target’s side.
Facing the two people raising their guns to aim, Chang Ning chose the tall guy close to him in height as the target during his approach.
While approaching the tall guy, to prevent himself from being hit, he extended his right hand to grip the barrel of the tall guy’s 85 sniper rifle and lifted it, while kicking the other person hard to the ground.
The incident happened in a flash. When both sides saw each other clearly, they simultaneously widened their eyes and showed speechless expressions.
Seeing that the owner of the barrel he was gripping was that guy Ostrich, and the person kicked to the ground was undoubtedly Medic without needing to think.

“Hey, Chang Ning, no need to give us two a hard hit right upon meeting. I don’t think we have any grudge!”
Medic got up from the ground, slung his gun over his shoulder, patted the grass clippings and dust off himself while complaining about Chang Ning.
“Exactly, look what you kicked Medic into.”
Ostrich chimed in from the side.
Before Chang Ning could speak, Medic heard Ostrich’s words and started bristling.
“Give me a break. If someone else said that, I’d actually thank them. You, forget it.
Your mouth is grinning all the way to your ear root. If you want to gloat, just say it. Stop acting like a Big-tailed Wolf!”
Medic looked at Ostrich’s gloating appearance and itched to go up and kick him a few times to vent.
“Hey, what a coincidence. I really am a Big-tailed Wolf.”
Ostrich squatted on the ground, poked the fire with a branch to make it burn brighter, and didn’t forget to respond to Medic.
“You two lighting a fire so openly behind enemy lines is too arrogant. Who are you looking down on?”
Chang Ning said as he was about to extinguish the fire, but was stopped.
“Hey hey hey, don’t touch it. There’s something inside.”
“What?”
Chang Ning had no idea there was something in the fire. Seeing Ostrich’s intense reaction, he couldn’t help but feel a bit curious about the thing in the fire.
Speaking of the thing in the fire, Ostrich immediately perked up. He mysteriously approached Chang Ning and said, “Guess?”

Ostrich, with his anus tightening, knew something was seriously wrong. If he kept teasing, he might not be around later.
“You two stop playing. Ostrich, tell Chang Ning quickly. It’s not some rare treasure. No need to hide it.”
Fortunately, Medic noticed Ostrich was about to get beaten and quickly stepped in to smooth things over.
Ostrich cast a grateful look at Medic and said with a full smile, “Actually, it’s nothing, just a chicken, hehe.”
At the end, Ostrich didn’t forget to tell Chang Ning to keep it secret and not tell others.
There’s only one chicken, can’t divide it.
“You said it too late.”
Chang Ning was now very much looking forward to Ostrich’s expression when his chicken was snatched. Xiao Zhuang and Lao Pao weren’t as polite as him; those two would really grab it.
“What do you mean too late?”
As soon as Ostrich finished speaking, he felt a flow of air behind him.
Someone approaching!
Just as he was about to react, a hand firmly pressed him in place, unable to move. The hand’s owner was Chang Ning sitting next to him.
“What are you doing? Someone’s coming!”
Ostrich’s anxious look left Chang Ning at a loss for words about this guy.
You say he’s vigilant, yet he dares to light an open fire roasting chicken on Blue Team’s territory; but say he’s lacking vigilance, he’s awfully sensitive, reacting to any wind or grass moving.
“I heard in the headphones that you guys got a chicken. Where is it?”
A familiar voice came from behind. Ostrich turned his head and saw, isn’t this Xiao Zhuang.
Right, Chang Ning, Xiao Zhuang, and Lao Pao were grouped together to carry out the mission.
Remembering this, Ostrich wailed inwardly: Done for, the chicken’s gone!
The hungry Xiao Zhuang didn’t care if it was ready. Seeing such a big clod of earth in the fire pile, he knew that was his target.
In three shakes of a lamb’s tail, he pulled the clod of earth out of the fire pile, knocked it with the fire stick in his hand, and the hardened soil on the outside of the Beggar’s Chicken cracked open, revealing the yellowish tin foil inside.
A rush of oily aroma went straight to the top of their heads. Five pairs of green, greedy eyes stared straight at the Beggar’s Chicken closest to Xiao Zhuang.
As the saying goes: The one near the water tower gets the moon first.
Xiao Zhuang had the advantage of position and, ignoring the scalding heat the chicken brought, directly tore off a plump chicken leg.
Relying on his agile skills, Chang Ning quickly snatched the incomplete chicken from Xiao Zhuang’s hand, tore off the other leg, and conveniently handed the rest to Lao Pao who was already eyeing it eagerly.
Before Lao Pao could act, everyone heard an urgent voice coming.

We’re now on Blue Team’s territory. Are you afraid they won’t find us? You even lit an open fire!”
The furious Geng Jihui looked at the five people sitting together eating chicken, feeling a wave of sorrow in his heart. How did his comrades turn out to be such a bunch of weirdos!
At this moment, his heart was so tired!
“Xiao Geng, want some?” Chang Ning asked, holding up the chicken leg he had gnawed more than half of.
“Eat what eat! Hurry and extinguish the fire!”
With that, Geng Jihui used his foot to scrape some soil to cover the fire.
“Xiao Geng doesn’t eat, I do.
Lao Pao, share some with me.”
Hearing this, Lao Pao reluctantly handed over the chicken wing in his hand.

“Hehe, brothers, we’ve been roasting it for a good while. Can you share some with us two?” Medic asked weakly.
Asking for food from a group of hungry people, Medic really had no confidence.
Listen to how simple the request is. Chang Ning thought they should share some with Ostrich and Medic. After all, Ostrich had roasted the chicken.
Licking the last bit of meat off the chicken leg, Chang Ning stuck the bone into the soft soil.
Without Chang Ning saying anything, Lao Pao and Qiang Zi shared some of the little meat they had in hand with Ostrich and Medic, so at least they could taste some meat.
