Chapter 135: Someone From The Main House Wants Me To Find Some Trouble For Lin Xin
That night, dark clouds obscured the crescent moon on the horizon, and two agile figures appeared on the small road in Willow Forest Village.
“What do you plan to do?” Mo Ziyuan asked Lin Xin.
“First figure out if it was them who released the snake. If it was, then let them reap what they sow.” Lin Xin replied, her brows filled with chilliness.
After that, the two didn’t speak anymore, silently arriving outside the courtyard wall of the Old Lin Family’s house. They looked at each other and tacitly leaped onto the roof.
Anyway, what needed to be exposed had mostly been exposed, so Lin Xin was too lazy to hide anymore. She directly took out a hypnosis bomb from her space, lifted a roof tile, and flicked it inside.
“Hold your breath!” Lin Xin said softly to Mo Ziyuan.
The fist-sized iron lump that was thrown in silently burst open upon landing, releasing a very faint mist that quickly dispersed into the air and vanished.
A few breaths later, Lin Xin patted Mo Ziyuan to signal it was okay to breathe, then jumped down from the roof and boldly pushed open the door of the wood shed next to it and walked in.
Lin Duo and Lin Zhi were curled up on a bed made of broken wooden boards, sleeping soundly.
A green glow flashed in Lin Xin’s hand. In their sleep, Lin Duo and Lin Zhi only felt a sting on their necks, then fell into deeper sleep, completely unaware that they had been rolled up in an old quilt and stuffed into her space.
“Let’s go!” Lin Xin said to Mo Ziyuan, who was guarding the door to avoid suspicion.
Mo Ziyuan glanced at her empty hand, then looked back at the empty wooden board bed, his gaze flickering. Without a word, he followed her.
The two went deep into the deep mountain and found a fairly spacious place. With a wave of Lin Xin’s small hand, the two sisters rolled in the quilt appeared on the open ground.
Lin Xin picked up Lin Duo and skillfully tied her to a big tree that took three people to barely hug around, then looked at Mo Ziyuan: “Find a place to hide. I need to use some unusual methods to question her.”
“How unusual?” Mo Ziyuan asked calmly, thinking to himself, could it be more unusual than you making people disappear and reappear?
Lin Xin smiled and teased him, “You’ll see when you watch.”
Mo Ziyuan chuckled helplessly and jumped onto the big tree. He felt that Lin Xin at this moment was incredibly vibrant, making him love her to his very bones.
Lin Xin slightly adjusted the way Lin Duo was tied, making her hands hug the big tree behind her back, then split her loose hair into two strands, wrapped them around the tree and tied them. Then she draped a piece of red silk scavenged from the Grand Tutor’s Mansion over herself and put on a white ghost-faced mask she had collected during the apocalypse.
Mo Ziyuan on the tree felt goosebumps on his arms just watching her, let alone Lin Duo who was suddenly pricked awake by her.
Slowly waking up, Lin Duo felt cold all over, her head heavy, eyelids too heavy to open. She wanted to rub her eyes, but found her hands tied. She wanted to look down, but a sharp pain pulled from her scalp.
She could sense she was outside now; the thing against her back was very rough, and leaves rustling in the wind occasionally came from above. She suddenly opened her eyes and found herself tied in the forest, unable to move.
There was no moon tonight, and the tree canopy overhead was enormous. She could only see shadows swaying in front of her, but couldn’t make out if it was a person or… something. Endless fear surged, and Lin Duo asked in a trembling voice: “Who? Who are you?”
“Can’t you tell who I am?” The ethereal voice floated now left, now right, sometimes far away, sometimes right by her ear. Lin Duo trembled even more violently.
“Hehe, is it because you’ve harmed too many people that you can’t think of who I am?” The voice rang out again, filling her with extreme terror. A hot stream surged from her lower body, quickly soaking her pants.
“Wah~” Feeling her loss of bladder control, plus the fear, Lin Duo burst into tears with a wail, crying and begging: “Please let me go, I really didn’t harm you! As long as you let me go, I’ll burn lots of paper money for you. Please let me go!”
“Hehe, let you go? Then who will let me go? I’ll dig out your eyes, cut out your tongue, peel off your face to make a lantern, and stuff it into your nostrils. What do you think? Hahaha…”
“Ah~ No no no, I beg you, I won’t dare anymore. Please let me go! When I get back, I’ll set up a longevity spirit tablet for you, with three sticks of incense morning and night to bless you to be reborn into a good family. I beg you, let me go! Aaaaah~” Lin Duo was scared out of her wits and screamed loudly.
“Then first tell me about the bad things you’ve done! I remember them all. If you omit even one, I’ll cut a piece of meat off you. Speak quickly!” The voice turned sinister, no longer drifting directionlessly, but Lin Duo was even more terrified because she clearly felt something ice-cold pressing against her face, yet the indistinct shadow was several meters in front of her.
“I… I’ll tell… I’ll tell everything…” Lin Duo stammered as she began recounting the bad things she had done. Lin Xin listened and found they were all trivial matters, many of which were her bullying the original owner, but nothing she wanted to hear, so she interrupted her.
“Set aside those trivial matters for now. Tell me about the bad things you’ve done recently. If you hide anything…” The ice-cold thing moved up and down her cheek, scaring Lin Duo so much her mind went blank, mechanically repeating: “Bad things recently, bad things recently, bad things recently…”
Lin Xin impatiently had a branch whip down on her, “Any more nonsense and I’ll peel your face right now.”
“Ah~ No no no, I’ll say it, I’ll say it right now. Let me think, let me think… Right, I remember. This morning, the people living in the big house at the foot of the mountain told me to find a way to cause some trouble for Lin Xin. I… I went to her home at noon. Originally planned to disgust her with village rumors, but Young Master Mo was also there, so I didn’t dare do anything and left…”
Lin Xin frowned. The big house at the foot of the mountain? Wasn’t that the house Mo Ziyuan and the others built? The people inside told Lin Duo to cause her trouble? Why?
However, Mo Ziyuan hiding in the tree was furious. He didn’t need to guess to know the one who instigated Lin Duo was Fu Jing. He never expected Fu Jing to be such a person—releasing a highly venomous five-step viper at Lin Xin’s home. Didn’t he know the consequences of being bitten by one?
Lin Duo was still chattering on about something, but Lin Xin and Mo Ziyuan had no mind to listen.
“You say you only wanted to disgust Lin Xin with rumors and did nothing else?” Lin Xin asked.
“No, ow, no no, really nothing else.” Lin Duo quickly denied. She wanted to shake her head, but forgot her hair was tied to the tree. The movement hurt so much she cried out.
