Chapter 197: Of Course I Killed Him
Next, she followed Mo Ziyuan to several places similar to warehouses. By the time they walked out of the last one, Lin Xin was already numb.
She had collected quite a few things from Grand Tutor Feng’s Mansion before, and at that time she already felt like a rich woman. Now looking at it, she was really just a little green frog sitting at the bottom of a well croaking upwards!
“Let’s go. The good show should have started by now.” Mo Ziyuan brought her flying up and leaped onto the rooftop beside them, then with a few more leaps, they landed on the wall of a courtyard that looked very luxurious.
“This is the place?” Lin Xin asked in a hushed voice.
Mo Ziyuan nodded, his gaze on the main house somewhat frightening.
“Xin’er, do you still have any pills that can make people tell the truth?”
“Yes!” Lin Xin took a small medicine bottle out of her space and handed it to him. “There are five pills inside.”
Mo Ziyuan rubbed the cool little bottle a few times, pursed his lips, tucked it into his bosom, pulled Lin Xin along, and went up onto the rooftop of the main house.
“Why don’t we go in through the door?” Seeing Mo Ziyuan lift a roof tile to look down, Lin Xin poked his arm and asked.
“This way will have a better effect.” Mo Ziyuan answered without turning his head, the perfunctory tone leaving Lin Xin speechless, though she grew even more expectant about the good show he had mentioned several times before.
“How about I knock out everyone in this courtyard?” Watching Mo Ziyuan carefully lift the tile, Lin Xin asked kindly.
Mo Ziyuan’s movements stiffened, then he immediately put the half-lifted roof tile back in place, nodded and said, “That’s fine too. It saves me the trouble.”
Lin Xin ignored his forced face-saving behavior, took a hypnosis bomb from the apocalypse out of her space and tossed it into the room, then quickly covered the tiles back. Just as she finished, she heard a “hiss hiss” sound from below, which soon quieted down.
After silently counting to five, Lin Xin pulled Mo Ziyuan down from the rooftop and boldly pushed open the room door to walk into the room.
“Wow! They don’t even latch the door when sleeping.” Lin Xin exclaimed, not knowing if Mo Ziyuan’s stepmother was too confident in the mansion’s security, or if she had deliberately left the door open for someone.
“Alright, let’s get to serious matters quickly.” Mo Ziyuan coughed dryly. “Hurry and get the corpses out!”
Lin Xin pursed her lips, feeling that no matter how she listened, Mo Ziyuan’s voice had a conspiratorial tone of imminent success.
She obediently released all those corpses from her space, nearly filling the outer room of the bedroom.
“Just put them here?”
“Of course not. How can just putting them here scare people? Can’t you use a bit of imagination?” Mo Ziyuan glanced at Lin Xin, hoisted a corpse, and walked into the inner room where Qi Shi slept. Lin Xin was very curious about what he would do, so she also hoisted a corpse and followed behind him. Then she witnessed just how darkly scheming Mo Ziyuan really was.
Because after entering the room, he first placed the corpse on the ground, untied the corpse’s belt and wrapped it around the corpse’s neck, then grabbed the other end of the belt, leaped onto the beam, used one arm to haul the corpse to a height he deemed appropriate, wrapped the belt around the beam a few times, and tied a solid knot.
Then he did the same to hang all the remaining corpses in the room. Even Lin Xin, who had come from the apocalypse, felt her scalp tingle at the sight.
After finishing, Mo Ziyuan even tilted his head to admire his handiwork, then came to the bedside, pinched Qi Shi’s mouth with utmost disgust, stuffed the pill Lin Xin had given him into her mouth, and wiped the hand that had touched her face on the quilt over and over.
“Has the medicine taken effect yet?” After a while, Mo Ziyuan asked.
“It has.” Lin Xin nodded, and saw him form a knife hand and slash hard across Qi Shi’s face. A clear blood mark immediately appeared, and the intense pain successfully woke her up.
“Ah~” When she clearly saw what those swaying things in front of her were, Qi Shi let out a shrill scream, rolled her eyes, and fainted back onto the bed.
“She… fainted from fright?” Lin Xin asked softly in curiosity.
Mo Ziyuan nodded. There was no other explanation. He hadn’t expected Qi Shi, who had done so many bad things, to actually be afraid.
“Wait here. I’ll be right back.” Mo Ziyuan, who had been impatiently trying to wake Qi Shi, suddenly remembered something, instructed Lin Xin, and hurriedly left.
“So mysterious.” Lin Xin muttered. Knowing Qi Shi wouldn’t wake up for a while, she began curiously examining this room that could be called opulent. Of course, she couldn’t tell the quality of the furnishings, but she recognized the gold wrapping the bedposts and the legs of various furniture.
Soon, Mo Ziyuan returned, with a person slung over his shoulder. Lin Xin thought it was a corpse they had missed, but upon closer look, it was someone still breathing. However, probably unaccustomed to being carried around the waist like that, the person had their eyes closed, face flushed red, and breathing much heavier.
“Who is this?”
“Dingguo Duke!” Mo Ziyuan placed the person in a chair, tapped several points on his body with one hand, then carried the occupied chair to an inconspicuous corner of the room, tapped him again, and saw the man suddenly open his eyes. Upon seeing Mo Ziyuan, anger immediately filled his gaze. He opened his mouth to speak but could only gape silently.
“I’ll go wake her up.” Having watched the whole process, Lin Xin, after Mo Ziyuan returned, consciously condensed a soccer-ball-sized water ball, maneuvered it above Qi Shi’s head, snapped her fingers, and the water ball burst with a “pop,” drenching Qi Shi’s face and waking her instantly.
Although she had seen it once already, the terror of numerous corpses hanging over the bed wasn’t something she could overcome so quickly. Her eyes rolled back as she tried to faint again.
This time, without Mo Ziyuan saying anything, Lin Xin acted first. No choice—her curiosity wasn’t being satisfied, and she felt a bit upset. So an even larger water ball burst on Qi Shi’s face, preventing her from fainting even if she wanted to.
Qi Shi’s gaze was finally drawn to the two people standing on the ground. She immediately wanted to beg them for help, but upon clearly seeing Mo Ziyuan’s face, she forcibly shut her mouth.
“How did my mother die back then?” Mo Ziyuan’s voice, as if emanating from hell, rang in her ears like a thunderbolt that nearly stunned Qi Shi. She jerked her head to look at his expressionless face, suddenly feeling a chill rise in her heart.
“Of course I killed her. To kill her without anyone knowing, I deliberately got close to her for a long time, visited her courtyard many times, and only then managed to scatter Zi Wu Duo Hun seeds all over her courtyard.” Qi Shi’s expression turned utterly terrified. After saying the first sentence, she forcefully covered her mouth, but still couldn’t stop herself from revealing the truth from back then.
