Chapter 217: Extracting Venom
Sure enough, the little snake was attracted. Its tiny body “whooshed” upward, aiming straight for Lin Xin’s palm, but she was very mischievous. With quick eyes and hands, she moved her hand away. The little snake missed, and “plop,” it fell into the can.
The little snake was stunned, seemingly unable to understand why it hadn’t caught the fragrant and delicious food. Its two sesame-sized eyes were really too small; otherwise, it would definitely be emitting mosquito coil circles.
Lin Xin was amused by it and burst out laughing. Seeing it gather itself and lunge toward her palm again, she dodged using the same trick. Watching the little snake fall dazed to the bottom of the can, she laughed so hard she cackled.
After teasing it like this several more times, she finally had a conscience and let the little snake successfully land on her hand.
The fragrant light ball was right in front of it. The little snake twisted its tiny body in various ways to coil around it in the middle, licking it bit by bit into its mouth with its thin little tongue.

Seeing it had finished eating and was getting drowsy, Lin Xin thought of putting it back in the can. But as soon as she moved, the little snake quickly burrowed into her sleeve, coiled around her wrist, bit its little tail into its mouth, and transformed into a very pretty bracelet.

She originally thought the military doctor would definitely be unhappy, but unexpectedly, he stared at the little snake with gleaming eyes for a moment, then asked in surprise: “What did you just feed it?”
Hearing this, Lin Xin felt a pang of guilt, but she showed nothing on the surface and answered puzzledly: “I didn’t feed it anything! I just thought it was pretty cute and had been sleeping obediently, so I looked at it a few more times. Who knew it would cling to me and refuse to leave.”
The military doctor knew right away she wasn’t telling the truth, but now wasn’t the time to pursue it. He stood up, walked to the corner of the tent, picked up a very exquisite little jade bottle, and handed it to Lin Xin. “Later, if it’s very restless after waking up, put this little bottle by its mouth and let it bite it. Once it spits the venom in, it’ll be fine.”
“What thing? Venom?” Lin Xin felt completely unwell. She had seen snake handlers extracting venom on TV before and thought it looked quite stress-relieving, but she never imagined this task would fall on her. Really······ haha!
“Hey, military doctor, it won’t get confused from sleep and bite me, right!” Although she had wood element ability and couldn’t easily be poisoned to death, she didn’t want to suffer that either!

Then it raised its upper body and started looking around.
Under the military doctor’s signal, Lin Xin uncorked the little bottle and held it next to its head. The little snake lunged over at once, bit onto the bottle mouth, and soon, two streams of pink sticky liquid seeped from its tiny fangs, flowing into the bottle.
Don’t judge by its small body; the venom wasn’t little. It filled more than half the bottle before it was done.
But the little snake after spitting the venom was clearly much more listless, even its colorful scales seemed to have lost their luster. It lay limply in her palm coiled into a ball, little head resting on its body, sesame eyes half-closed.
“It, what’s wrong with it?” Lin Xin held up her hand and asked.
“Oh, it’s always like this after spitting venom, and this time it spat so much, it’ll probably need to rest longer. Just put it back in the can, give it some food, and it’ll be much better after eating and sleeping.” The military doctor answered absentmindedly.
He had extracted this little snake’s venom before too, but never as much as this time, nor as deep in color. Now he was a bit eager to study it for medicine.
“Um, you stay and take care of them! I’m heading out first.” With that, the military doctor left, so fast it was like a ghost was chasing him from behind.
Lin Xin watched him leave helplessly, thinking, you said they were all your little treasures. I don’t know if I misunderstood “treasures” or if you expressed it wrong, but I think your treasures are more like those messy poisons!
Complaints aside, looking at the listless little snake in her palm, Lin Xin surprisingly felt a bit heartbroken.
She reached out and gently stroked its little head, and the little snake even twisted in response.
“Sigh, I really owe you!” Despite saying that, she unhesitatingly condensed another supernatural ability ball and placed it by the little snake’s mouth, even bigger than the previous one.
The little snake seemed not to believe this stroke of immense luck had fallen on it. It first licked it with its little tongue, confirmed it was real, and its sesame eyes widened round, shining remarkably.
“Eat up, it’s for you.” Lin Xin held her palm to its mouth and said softly, not caring if it understood.
The little snake clearly understood, or even if not, the good thing at its mouth was real. It abandoned its previous slow pace, quickly swallowed the supernatural ability ball into its belly, then turned back into a bracelet and fell asleep.
