Tang Jie’er’s expression remained unruffled. She repeated clearly, “Let’s break up!”

“Jie’er!” Lin Chusheng paused, trying to reason with her. “We are each other’s first love. Our love has just begun, and we will face many problems in the future. Perhaps you haven’t fully understood me yet, or perhaps you haven’t fully understood yourself…”
“No!” Tang Jie’er said decisively. “I understand myself. I don’t love you anymore, and I don’t want to continue being insincere and waste each other’s time. If you want to be friends, I accept, but I don’t love you anymore!”

“I am certain that I am not someone without my own opinions,” Tang Jie’er remained unmoved. “So what if we’ve met each other’s parents? Do you think I should be loyal to you because of that?
“We are long past the era of arranged marriages and parental decrees! My father trusts me, and I believe he will support my decision, no matter which man I choose to love!
“My love and marriage are solely my own decisions! Deciding to love you, and deciding not to love you, are both mine!
“When I was with you, I loved you with all my heart. When I no longer love you, I will tell you honestly. I don’t feel I owe you anything!”
