Chapter 236: I’ll Go Send Him Away
“I didn’t expect her to be such a person. I feel very heartbroken for you and want to return to your side immediately, but I can’t leave yet. I can’t swallow the anger from what the Crown Prince did to me. I want to ruin this heartless man and also serve as inside help for you in the Crown Prince’s Manor, so you can better bring down the Crown Prince. What do you say?”
Lin Ningkun didn’t speak, feeling a bit hesitant in his heart.
“I really want to be with you, but haven’t you accomplished your big plan yet? I’m the Crown Prince’s most intimate person, and I can find out information others can’t.”
Jiang Ruanxi added some firewood.
Lin Ningkun thought about how Jiang Kui had almost killed him a few days ago, so he probably didn’t trust him very much.
For his future and his life, now he could only rely on making contributions to win back his trust, otherwise everything from so long would be in vain.
After figuring it out, Lin Ningkun nodded.
Seeing him nod, Jiang Ruanxi let out a big sigh of relief in her heart.
Smiling, she said, “Don’t worry, I’ll diligently gather information for you.”
Jiang Ruanxi feared he wouldn’t believe her, so she made solemn guarantees to him.
“I believe you.” Lin Ningkun didn’t suspect her.
After speaking, he stood up and walked toward her.
Watching him approach, Jiang Ruanxi’s heart tightened, but she didn’t dare show it.
Lin Ningkun pulled her up from the seat, and Jiang Ruanxi endured the disgust from his touch and stood up.
“Xi Xi, it’s been so long since I hugged you. I miss you so much.”
Lin Ningkun gazed at her affectionately and raised his hand to embrace her waist.
Just as his hand was about to fall, Wei Chang’s voice came from outside the door.
“You think if you make a fuss every day, I’ll look at you properly? A girl from the countryside—I married you as Crown Princess, you should be content, yet you’re still jealous.”
Interrupted by someone, Lin Ningkun’s face immediately darkened.
Jiang Ruanxi’s eyes brightened, and she stepped to the side, away from Lin Ningkun.
She walked toward the door, but after two steps, Lin Ningkun grabbed her hand and questioned her softly, “What do you want to do?”
“I’ll go send him away,” Jiang Ruanxi said.
Suddenly, as if remembering something, she said to Lin Ningkun with a serious face, “Why don’t you leave first? If he sees you here, our plan will be completely ruined.”
Although Lin Ningkun was reluctant, he also felt Jiang Ruanxi was right.
For their future, Lin Ningkun could only nod.
He jumped directly out the window without making a sound.
It seemed he had some kung fu.
After seeing him leave, Jiang Ruanxi’s tense heart finally relaxed, and she collapsed on the ground.
Not caring if she sat on the glass shards on the ground,
Wei Chang saw no movement from inside for a long time and frowned tightly.
Every time he came, whenever he cursed Jiang Ruanxi, she would respond to act with him.
This time there was no movement at all.
Could something have happened?
Thinking of this, Wei Chang’s heart skipped several beats, and he quickly pushed open the door.
What met his eyes was a scene of chaos, with Jiang Ruanxi sitting on the ground, her face deathly pale.
There were bloodstains at the corner of her mouth and a red palm print on her face.
Wei Chang emanated an icy aura and quickly stepped forward to pull her up.
“Who exactly did this?”
Smelling the familiar scent, Jiang Ruanxi hugged his waist, tears falling instantly. “Husband, you’ve finally come.”
Normally, Jiang Ruanxi only called him that during intimate moments in bed, but now suddenly calling him this meant she had suffered great grievance. Wei Chang felt very heartbroken.
Patting her back to comfort her, he said, “Don’t be afraid. Husband is here—no one will bully you.”
Jiang Ruanxi cried louder and louder.
Wei Chang stayed silent, just accompanying her.
After she cried enough, the front of Wei Chang’s clothes was already soaked.
Jiang Ruanxi felt a bit embarrassed, but Wei Chang didn’t mind. He pulled her to a chair to sit and held her hand as he asked, “Who hit you?”
Seeing the bloodstain at her mouth, he raised his hand to wipe it off.
The palm print on her face made his expression darken.
Jiang Ruanxi held his hand, thinking that if she hadn’t been quick-witted, knowing Wei Chang sometimes came to her bedchamber at night to curse and act with her, she wouldn’t have delayed time waiting for Wei Chang.
Now, she didn’t know how Lin Ningkun would have treated her. Thinking of this, her body trembled involuntarily.
“What’s wrong?” Wei Chang knew she was still scared and hugged her shoulders to give her strength.
Jiang Ruanxi shook her head.
She gripped his hand tightly.
“Lin Ningkun came again just now.”
“Lin Ningkun?” Wei Chang was full of doubt.
Hadn’t Lin Ningkun died half a year ago?
“The Fifth Princess’s male concubine Young Master Jin is Lin Ningkun,” Jiang Ruanxi explained to resolve his doubts.
“What?”
Wei Chang hadn’t expected Young Master Jin to be Lin Ningkun.
This man had been under his nose for so long, yet he hadn’t noticed.
Suddenly remembering something, Wei Chang said gravely, “What did you mean by ‘again’ just now?”
“Last time in the garden when he molested me, I recognized him as Lin Ningkun.”
Mentioning the garden incident, Wei Chang then recalled that after the garden, Jiang Ruanxi had covered herself in wounds.
At the time, he had felt it was familiar, but with such an ugly face, he hadn’t thought that ugly man was Lin Ningkun.
Thinking of how he repeatedly bullied his woman, Wei Chang wanted to kill him right now, his whole body radiating killing intent.
“He dares to touch my woman—he’s courting death. I definitely won’t let him go.”
The woman he cherished like a treasure in his palm, not even willing to touch a single hair, yet he repeatedly bullied her.
Wei Chang couldn’t endure it anymore and stood up full of anger.
Jiang Ruanxi grabbed his hand. “Don’t be hasty—sit down and let me explain slowly.”
Her soft hand pulled him, and thinking of how much harm she had suffered, Wei Chang sat back down.
Jiang Ruanxi told Wei Chang everything in detail: how Lin Ningkun was saved by Jiang Kui and her cooperation with Lin Ningkun.
Wei Chang hadn’t expected Lin Ningkun to be connected to Jiang Kui.
It seemed their ambition was not small.
“They won’t let you go in the future—we need to be doubly careful from now on.”
“Don’t worry, I have preparations for these things. I can handle it,” Wei Chang comforted her.
It seemed some of his plans needed to be accelerated.
Hearing this, Jiang Ruanxi believed him but couldn’t help worrying for him.
After talking for a while, Wei Chang comforted Jiang Ruanxi. Then Jiang Ruanxi urged Wei Chang to leave. Wei Chang was reluctant to leave, but thinking of enemies surrounding them, to protect her, he endured the reluctance in his heart and left.
But when leaving, he still added several guards to protect her, not wanting tonight’s incident to happen again.
However, after leaving, he turned and exited the manor gate, not knowing where he went.
After Wei Chang left, Jiang Ruanxi also pondered how to deal with Lin Ningkun in the future, how to protect herself from harm, and how not to hold Wei Chang back.
