Chapter 51: Don’t Make A Fuss, I’ll Handle This Matter
If it were any other time, she would definitely give Jiang Ruanxi a good lesson, but thinking that there were more urgent matters, Madam Zhou didn’t care about these things anymore and stepped forward to grab her hand.
“Come with me to the West Wing Room.”
Jiang Ruanxi’s almond eyes immediately darkened, only feeling the hand holding hers extremely disgusting. Thinking of the Lin Family Members’ attitude when she was in trouble not long ago, she no longer wanted to pretend anything and directly shook it off, causing Madam Zhou to stagger a bit.
Madam Zhou was stunned, not expecting Jiang Ruanxi to be so excited, looking at her with disbelief.
After reacting, she shouted at her displeased, “Jiang Ruanxi, have you gone mad?”
It wasn’t time to tear face with her yet, so Jiang Ruanxi endured the impatience in her heart and smiled, saying, “Mother, don’t be angry. You grabbed me painfully.”
Jiang Ruanxi deliberately revealed her wrist, where there was a fingerprint.
What she didn’t know was that Jiang Ruanxi had fair skin that was sensitive; as long as a bit of force was used, it would leave a bruise.
Seeing this, Madam Zhou felt no guilt at all. She had originally wanted to give her a lesson, but thinking of the more urgent matter waiting for her, she could only endure her displeasure.
“I don’t care if you’re in pain or not. Come with me to the West Wing Room right now.” Madam Zhou ordered directly.
“Did something happen? Mother, you can handle it yourself.”
If she could handle it well, would she still come here to find her?
But to beg her humbly, Madam Zhou couldn’t bring herself to lower her face.
Jiang Ruanxi took all her reactions in, then turned and sat down.
“Mother, if you don’t want to say it, then you should go back.” She instructed Hong Ye on the side, “Hong Ye, send the Old Madam back.”
Madam Zhou glared at Hong Ye, gnashing her teeth as she looked at Jiang Ruanxi. After thinking, she still said it.
“Your Third Sister is over at the West Wing Room. You must come with me.”
Hong Ye was shocked. She knew she hadn’t misheard earlier—it really was the Third Miss.
“Mother, I remember Third Sister shares a room with you. It’s so late—why isn’t Third Sister with you, and how did she end up at the West Wing Room?” Jiang Ruanxi said, feigning surprise.
Madam Zhou’s face paled, a flash of panic in her eyes. Her mouth moved, then she suddenly spoke viciously, “Ask less. Just go where I tell you to go.”
The Jiang Ruanxi of the previous life might have foolishly obeyed, but after the previous life and the Lin Family Members’ indifference not long ago, Jiang Ruanxi would no longer indulge her.
Picking up the teacup and taking a sip, she hid the coldness in her eyes. “I’m tired. Unless it’s something important, I won’t go.”
After saying that, she put down the teacup, stood up, lifted the curtain, and went into the inner room.
Seeing this, Madam Zhou hurriedly came in front of her to stop her, whispering urgently, “This matter is about your Third Sister. You must go. You don’t want to be gossiped about outside later, do you?”
Jiang Ruanxi paused, smiling faintly, “What do you mean by that, Mother? I don’t understand.”
Seeing that they had delayed so long here, Madam Zhou had no more patience and directly grabbed her wrist to pull her away.
Jiang Ruanxi wanted to resist, but Madam Zhou had done farm work before. Now though she had become the Marquis Manor Madam, her strength was still greater than Jiang Ruanxi’s.
The pain on her wrist made Jiang Ruanxi furrow her brows involuntarily.
“Let go. I’ll go with you.”
Hearing this, Madam Zhou stopped, looking at her with suspicion.
“If you don’t let go, I won’t go.”
Seeing no sign of lying on her face and thinking they couldn’t delay now, Madam Zhou could only release her hand.
Jiang Ruanxi walked straight ahead.
She had wanted to go to the West Wing Room anyway, but she didn’t want to give in to Madam Zhou so quickly. She hadn’t expected Madam Zhou to pull her so forcefully.
The pain from her wrist made her brows and eyes full of chill.
If she weren’t unable to act rashly now, she would want to chop off Madam Zhou’s hand.
**
After going to the West Wing Room, Jiang Ruanxi thought they were going to Madam Zhou’s room, but unexpectedly, it was the room next door.
As they were outside, they heard Lin Ningkun’s angry voice.
“Sun Chengye, what exactly did you do to her?”
Following that was Lin Tingting’s bursts of sobbing.
By the time Jiang Ruanxi entered, she was completely stunned by the scene before her.
Sun Chengye was half-naked standing in the room, while Lin Tingting, though fully clothed, was crying with snot running down her face.
“What else could it be?” Sun Chengye crossed his arms over his chest, looking roguish. “Don’t slander me. I did nothing. It was Lin Tingting who appeared in my room. I want to ask what she wanted to do.”
This statement was just short of directly saying that Lin Tingting had seduced him here.
“You’re lying. I was clearly sleeping well in my side room when suddenly I heard fighting outside. I came out to look, but when I woke up, I was here. I’m really wronged…”
Lin Tingting spoke excitedly, her face full of shame and anger, not looking fake.
Jiang Ruanxi was somewhat puzzled. Didn’t Lin Tingting like Sun Chengye?
This was clearly a perfect opportunity, so why wouldn’t she admit it?
Was she afraid of ruining her reputation, or was she really innocent?
“Wronged?” Sun Chengye sneered coldly. “Lin Tingting, clearly you showed interest in me and called me here, and now you won’t admit it?”
The taste of being deceived wasn’t pleasant. Even if Sun Chengye was so scoundrelly, being played like this made him unconvinced at heart.
“You’re lying. I didn’t…”
Lin Tingting was truly anxious. If she admitted it now, wouldn’t her reputation be ruined?
Who would dare to propose marriage to her in the future?
“If you didn’t, then how are you here?” Sun Chengye asked rhetorically.
“I…” Lin Tingting couldn’t say a complete sentence for a long time.
Actually, she didn’t know how she ended up here either.
Jiang Ruanxi watched the two push responsibility back and forth, her suspicions deepening. What exactly was going on?
Suddenly, Lin Ningkun stepped forward, his tone much softer.
“Heir, since you also don’t want to admit this matter, and no outsiders know now, to avoid making a big fuss, how about this: our two families pretend nothing happened. Alright?”
“Brother.”
“Marquis.”
Lin Tingting and Madam Zhou exclaimed in shock.
Jiang Ruanxi looked at Lin Ningkun suspiciously, not knowing what game Lin Ningkun was playing.
Clearly, it was Lin Tingting’s purity that was ruined, yet Lin Ningkun surprisingly didn’t care.
Madam Zhou thought the same as her.
“Don’t argue. I’ve decided on this matter.”
Lin Tingting was unwilling in her heart, but now the Marquis Manor was under Lin Ningkun’s control. Even if she was dissatisfied, she could only hold it in.
Madam Zhou had always trusted Lin Ningkun, so with his decision now, she had no objections.
“You said it. Don’t come clinging to me later.” Sun Chengye hadn’t expected Lin Ningkun to let him off so easily.
