Chapter 48: Make Her Give Up
Mu Qingran, Mu Qingyi, and Yin Lingchen stared intently at the somewhat flustered Yin Lingyan. Mu Qingran was the first to speak.
“Are you going to tell me if I’m your best friend or not? You’re getting engaged and you didn’t tell me?” Mu Qingran widened her eyes, waiting for Yin Lingyan’s answer.
“We…” Yin Lingyan gave an awkward smile, and just as she was about to explain, Han Wuyu stopped her.
“It was also a spur-of-the-moment decision for us, and we didn’t have time to notify anyone due to the rushed timing. We apologize.” Han Wuyu’s demeanor shocked Ye Qianyu and Yin Chubei. Who could tell them that this guy apologizing was actually Han Wuyu?

Unable to resist, Yin Lingyan was like a lamb waiting to be slaughtered. It wasn’t that she didn’t try to break free, but she couldn’t.
“We were faking it anyway, why didn’t you just say so?” Seeing that his steps had finally stopped, Han Wuyu released her hand. Yin Lingyan clutched her slightly swollen wrist and said angrily.
“If you’re going to act, you have to see it through, understand?”
Han Wuyu’s words stunned Yin Lingyan. After thinking about it, she felt there was some truth to what he said.
“But she’s my best friend.”
Han Wuyu pouted helplessly. “No one can know about this, or it will be exposed.”
“So what if it’s exposed?” Yin Lingyan said indifferently. Their fake engagement was just to save face in that situation.
Han Wuyu hadn’t expected Yin Lingyan to be so blunt. His expression darkened slightly, and his tone became sharp and unpleasant. “Whatever you say.”
With that, he left Yin Lingyan looking bewildered. Yin Lingyan watched his retreating back, then sighed after a moment’s thought.
“Is there anyone in this world as good as me? Is there?”
Yin Lingyan walked in the opposite direction of Han Wuyu. Upon returning, she saw a few people who seemed to know she was coming and were waiting for her.
Yin Lingyan took a deep breath and said slowly, with some stiffness, “I… I am indeed engaged. It was too sudden…”
“No way…”
“What?”
“Impossible.”
“Wow…” These were the sounds from the classmates who had stayed to watch the drama unfold.
Four different voices came from different people. Yin Lingyan gave an awkward smile.
Mu Qingran’s eyes widened. “I knew you two were up to something! Weren’t you avoiding him that time on the sports field too?”
Hearing Mu Qingran say that, Yin Lingyan remembered seeing Han Wuyu that morning after he helped her with her makeup. She thought she had hidden it well, but she didn’t expect her to know everything.
Yin Lingchen couldn’t believe it. “Sister, how could you take care of him for a night and end up losing your whole life! How could you!!!!”
Yin Lingchen’s words had a double meaning, with a hint of ambiguity. Yin Lingyan couldn’t help but blush. “Brother, it’s not what you think?”
“Then what is it?” Yin Lingchen didn’t speak, but Mu Qingyi stepped forward, pressing her with a sarcastic expression.
Yin Lingyan was taken aback. She had never seen Mu Qingyi like this before and felt something was off, but…
She didn’t know how to answer his question. It was truly… driving her crazy. Where had Han Wuyu gone? Why wasn’t he back yet?
