Chapter 145: Nine-school Joint Gathering Begins
The Student Council President of Black Dragon High School is a tall and slender girl. Perhaps because of the school’s name, she is dressed entirely in black. The black tight uniform accentuates her slim waist that is no less impressive than Jiang Xia’s and Huohuo’s, and her long beautiful legs wrapped in black stockings on her lower body.
Damn it! People from Black Dragon wear black stockings, so why can’t people from White Dragon wear white stockings!
Zuo Hang happened to have a notice of the new school rules under his hand. He had long lost the original file on the computer, so he simply picked up a signing pen and wrote that girls have freedom of clothing on campus.
Being president is really exhausting. Zuo Hang decided to retire after finishing this year and immediately organize a handover as soon as next year starts.
“No need to rehearse. Just battle directly tomorrow.” Zuo Hang said to the Vice President of Black Dragon High School.
“By the way, President, what is your name again? I feel like I slept for over a year and forgot a lot of things.”
The representative from Black Dragon High School looked at him strangely: “My name is Shu Tian, President Zuo. I seem to have just messaged you last night.”
“Oh, sorry, you just messaged last night. I forgot, President Shu. So, what Pokémon do you plan to use in tomorrow’s exhibition match?”
Shu Tian glanced at the Pikachu standing on the table and said, “I’ll use Electromonster. Electric-type against Electric-type, that way it’s fairer.”
“Pika~!” Pikachu’s eyes lit up upon hearing Electromonster, and after returning from the Secret Realm, it had been a long time since he had a chance to fight. The new students in the academy used Pokémon that were too weak; a few volts would knock them out, making it impossible to battle to his heart’s content.
Electromonster is a three-stage evolution Pokémon, finally a tough opponent!
“Pika~! Pika~!” Pikachu called out twice full of fighting spirit, with faint arcs of lightning flashing over the electric sacs on both sides of its cheeks.
Zuo Hang’s Pikachu was originally warlike. Not battling for a few days was no different from an old pervert not watching videos for him; it made him itch unbearably.
“Your Pikachu seems to be trained well.” Shu Tian glanced at Pikachu and said.
‘The word “seems” can be omitted.’ Jiang Xia, who was standing beside Zuo Hang sorting files, said in his heart.
The president of Black Dragon High School this term is a freshman. Zuo Hang, who grew up in High-Risk Zones and Secret Realms, might not know her, but Jiang Xia does.
Before attending high school, Shu Tian had already collected eight badges from the Kanto region’s Gyms. From receiving her starter Pokémon to challenging all the Gyms, she only took nine months; she is a true genius.
“President Shu, besides the exhibition match, you came over today to”
“President Bai, can you arrange our dormitory?” Shu Tian said with a smile.
Oh, right, the dormitory.
Zuo Hang remembered that he had those unreliable freshmen lead the way, but they ended up getting lost themselves.
He reached out and patted Jiang Xia on the butt, then Zuo Hang said: “You go find a place for President Shu to stay.”
Jiang Xia was stunned on the spot, turned back to look at Zuo Hang with a very shocked expression. ‘Did this guy sleep and fry his brain? She’s the Vice President! How can she do something like leading the way? And is the Vice President’s butt something you can just pat? That’s a bit too much!’
“Why are you looking at me? Hurry up and lead the way!” Zuo Hang nodded toward the doorway.
“Let’s go, President Jiang.” Shu Tian still had a smile on her face.
“No, you…” Jiang Xia gritted her teeth, quickly led Shu Tian out. After leaving the office, she slammed the door hard, took out the academy terminal, and typed to Zuo Hang: “I’m a senior student! Don’t you know to respect seniors? You actually made me lead the way for someone else?”
Zuo Hang replied quickly: “No choice, that group of slackers among the freshmen can’t even find their own way. Besides you, I can’t think of anyone else. The capable should work more!”
Jiang Xia was so angry she locked the terminal and didn’t reply again.
That evening, Zuo Hang rarely had a good sleep. When he arrived at the Nine-School Joint Event venue, the dark circles under his eyes had surprisingly lightened a bit.
The first event was the Student Council President from the top-ranked academy of the previous Nine-School Joint Event giving a representative speech. Zuo Hang walked to the center of the venue as usual, with an ear mic clipped to his collar.
There were countless amplifiers around the arena venue, and his voice could be transmitted to any corner of the venue through the ear mic.
He pulled out the speech manuscript he had revised for two nights from his pocket. Zuo Hang was never afraid of speeches, but this grand occasion of the Nine-School Joint Event still made him a bit nervous. After all, he had never seen such a big spectacle before; otherwise, he wouldn’t have written a manuscript.
He read through the manuscript with little emotional fluctuation. Suddenly, cheers not belonging to this ‘exciting’ speech rose from the audience seats around the arena.
Only then did Zuo Hang realize that every term’s president’s speech was just official talk. The students were only looking forward to the Nine-School Joint Event itself; no one was expecting the speech. So even if he went up, babbled two sentences, and came down, no one would say anything; they would even applaud and cheer for him, saying the current White Dragon High School president understands people’s hearts and knows what everyone wants to see.
The second event was the exhibition match between the presidents of the top-ranked and second-ranked academies.
Shu Tian walked out from the door of the waiting seats and waved to the audience in greeting. She was extremely popular; there were even support groups in the audience seats from every academy.
Zuo Hang patted Pikachu, and Pikachu immediately jumped onto the opposite platform. At this time, Shu Tian also took out a Poké Ball; with a flash of red light, Electromonster appeared on the arena platform.
“Take it slow; this is an exhibition match, don’t end it too quickly.” Zuo Hang said to Pikachu.
He didn’t deliberately lower his voice, meaning Shu Tian heard every word clearly.
There was no expression on her face; it was unclear if she was really angry or suppressing her anger.
“Electromonster! Thunder Punch!”
This command signaled the start of the battle.
Electromonster’s thick arms were immediately filled with lightning.
Pikachu’s fluffy tail lit up with a metallic sheen.
Iron Tail against Thunder Punch.
In their first clash, Iron Tail easily deflected Thunder Punch. Electromonster retreated several steps on the arena, its deep red pupils filled with shock.
His arms felt slightly numb from the clash, hard to imagine that a tiny Pokémon like Pikachu could erupt with such immense strength.
Pikachu looked back at Zuo Hang. He hadn’t held back much on that strike and had used a bit more force. Zuo Hang nodded to him, indicating that the force was just right.
“Giga Impact!”
Shu Tian’s command rang out again.
Zuo Hang still didn’t say anything, but Pikachu’s body proactively lit up with cyan lightning; High Voltage was already starting to warm up.
Bright white Flowing Light covered Electromonster’s entire body, but High Voltage warmed up a step ahead of Giga Impact.
(ps: Recently, new Pokémon novels haven’t been too popular. I’m wondering if I should recast the glory of Pokémon literature)
