Chapter 7: Anyone Without A Registered Trainer Id, Raise Your Hand
The second day morning.
When Zuo Hang arrived at the classroom, there were not many people in the class yet, but Zuo Rou surprisingly appeared at her seat early in the morning, with her legs tightly together, hands placed on her legs, and eyes uneasily looking around, like a child just starting elementary school.
“Relax a bit, why are you so tense?” Zuo Hang walked over and touched his sister’s messy hair.
Zuo Rou had natural curls; even after Gardevoir had once styled her hair for her, it would curl back up in less than half a day.
“I-I…” Zuo Rou stammered for a long time but couldn’t say anything, completely different from when she was typing and chatting last night.
“As expected, a network giant…” Zuo Hang sighed inwardly; curing this social anxiety completely wouldn’t happen in a day or two.
Zuo Rou being able to walk out of her room by herself today was already great progress.
Zuo Hang searched for his seat among the many chairs; each desk had the corresponding student ID posted on it. Zuo Hang was 001, Zuo Rou was 040, and the two happened to sit diagonally across from each other, with Zuo Rou at the first seat by the doorway and Zuo Hang at the last one by the window.
Through the window, he could see the outside corridor and sports field.
Zuo Hang didn’t like this position very much; it felt a bit noisy, and if it were on the second floor, it should be much better.
“Hey, brother, is that girl at the door your sister?”
The man with a shoulder bag sat down in the seat in front of Zuo Hang. He was a boy with deep blue hair, holding a Snowy Child in his arms, with red headphones hanging around his neck. He had just unplugged the headphone cord connected to his mobile phone when speaking to Zuo Hang.
“No, she’s my sister.” Zuo Hang sighed.
He had anticipated this situation long ago. With his sister’s looks, there would definitely be plenty of suitors at school. If one or two lucky guys managed to talk to Zuo Rou and learned about her social anxiety personality, it might even further ignite the boys’ protective desire.
“Sighing on the first day of class? People who sigh often age quickly. I see you look a bit anxious too… You’re only in first year high school; by third year, you might have an uncle face.”
The deep blue-haired boy said this, “I’m Hoshino Ryuji. Nice to meet you.”
The Snowy Child in his arms also reached out to the Electric Mouse on Zuo Hang’s shoulder.
Zuo Hang was stunned. Hoshino Ryuji? Nice to meet you?
In China, there was no habit of introducing oneself right upon meeting, and spoken language didn’t have everyday phrases like “nice to meet you.” And Hoshino clearly wasn’t a Chinese surname either.
White Dragon Academy was a multinational joint venture, so encountering students from other countries here wasn’t surprising.
Seeing no response from the other for a long time, Hoshino Ryuji didn’t know how to continue for a moment. The first person he tried to talk to in his new school was the aloof type… He’d heard early on that Class A was full of quiet brainiac top students, and with Hoshino Ryuji’s unique, lively personality, he instantly felt his high school life ahead might be full of difficulties.
“I’m Zuo Hang. Sorry, I’m not used to that way of greeting.” Zuo Hang saw the sudden look of frustration on the other’s face and quickly said.
The Snowy Child’s black round little hand shook with Pikachu’s paw.
“pika~”
“maoji~”
The greeting between Pokémon was obviously much simpler than between humans.
Snowy Child wasn’t a Pokémon you could buy at an ordinary Pokémon Day Care; maybe this guy was an unregistered one like the Electric Mouse.
The two little ones quickly became familiar, exchanging a “pika” and a “maoji~” on Zuo Hang’s desk.
This was probably the tacit understanding between unregistered ones.
“If you want to pursue my sister, don’t try to get to her through me. I won’t help you.” Zuo Hang said seriously.
Hoshino Ryuji smiled, “sister” was just his conversation starter; not knowing how to talk to the surrounding brainiacs, Hoshino Ryuji had deliberately picked what seemed like a normal entry point, but unexpectedly hit the mark—Zuo Rou really was related to Zuo Hang.
“Don’t worry, my family has arranged a marriage partner for me. I won’t have any ideas about your sister.” Hoshino Ryuji said.
Family, marriage partner.
Two more nouns that felt quite distant to Zuo Hang.
In 2025, there really wouldn’t still be arranged family marriages, right?
While the two were chatting idly, a girl wearing something like a school uniform sat down in the seat next to Zuo Hang.
“Whoa, that beauty score, a perfect ten.” Hoshino Ryuji couldn’t help but speak up.
Zuo Hang only saw her side profile, but judging by his perspective from over 20 years across two lives, she was undoubtedly a temperament beauty.
It seemed she had heard their conversation, but she didn’t show any displeasure at the “10 points” description; her face showed an expression long accustomed to surrounding discussions.
The girl took out her textbook from her bag.
《Pokémon Personality’s Influence on Attributes》
This was the first class of the morning.
“Another aloof type? Damn! Why put someone like me in Class A!!!?” Hoshino Ryuji’s face was full of displeasure, completely missing the sudden class bell.
“Classmates, I’m your—cough cough—the blue-haired classmate in the second to last row! Class has started.” A middle-aged woman who suddenly appeared at the podium knocked on the blackboard with the white chalk in her hand and said: “Simple self-introduction, I’m Xi Ran. Don’t doubt it, that’s my real name. Before officially starting class, I’ll first ask if anyone in the class hasn’t registered a Trainer ID yet.”
The air seemed to freeze for three seconds.
Zuo Hang in the last row raised his hand, Hoshino Ryuji in the second to last row also raised his hand, and Zuo Rou in the first row hesitated a bit before raising hers after them.
“Good, you three come with me to the Information Building at noon. I’ll register your IDs for you. So, before officially starting class, I have a few things to emphasize.”
Teacher Xi Ran took out her terminal from her jacket pocket and said: “I’m sure you’re all aware, this academy’s first year high school is divided into ABCDEF six classes, as you think, it’s an open ranking system. 【A】 class is made up of students with the best comprehensive quality at enrollment, conversely, F class is the worst.”
“Everyone’s terminal gets 10000 contribution points credited each month. What I’m saying below is all key points; everyone listen carefully. In this school, contribution points can buy anything you want, yes, anything.”
“I believe many of you have already bound your Pokémon to your terminals. Pokémon strength is the main factor determining personal comprehensive quality evaluation, specifically accounting for 50%. Right now, everyone’s comprehensive quality is F, whether A class or F class. The higher your personal comprehensive quality score, the more contribution points you get each month.”
“Although your classes’ points are the same now, this will change starting the second month after school opens.
F-level evaluation gets 10000 points, E-level gets 15000, and so on; the highest A-level gets 35000 points. However… A-level isn’t the top of personal evaluation. Above A-level is S-level evaluation, getting 50000 points per month. The academy stipulates that each grade can have at most two S-level students in the monthly comprehensive evaluation settlement.”
As soon as she said this, the students below immediately started discussing. Even as the top A class, they couldn’t stay calm right away upon hearing this news.
(ps: Couldn’t find Snowy Child’s cry; friends who know can tell me~)
「Welcome to the Strength Supremacy Pokémon Classroom」 This name is too long, they wouldn’t let me use it, just riding the Demon King Academy hype. Heard there’s another creator who thought of this name too, but hype goes to whoever grabs it first.
And Lu-ge is my true love, Demon King step aside.
True love is true love.
Zuo Hang is different from Lu-ge, and the later plot has nothing to do with the classroom either.
