Chapter 10: Luoyang Shovel In Hand, Enlightenment Of Dragon-searching And Acupoint-pointing
After hearing the old man’s words, Su Mo knew that the people he mentioned who suddenly disappeared were likely A Ning’s expedition team!
A Ning and the others were sent by Qiu Dekao to Lu Wang Palace to explore the secrets within, and upon arriving here, they had hired this old man as a guide.
The old man led A Ning and the others into the mountain, but the next day they discovered that these people had all vanished, so he thought there was some man-eating evil ghost in the mountain.
In reality, A Ning and the others might have already gone deep into the mountain or entered the interior of Lu Wang Palace.
Thinking of this, Su Mo immediately kicked the old man again:
“Where are there any evil ghosts? Less nonsense, take us there!”
The old man had no choice but to crawl up from the ground and lead Su Mo and the others into the mountain.
After walking for more than an hour, the group arrived at A Ning and the others’ camp, only to see that things like tents, tableware, and radio were all still intact, but there wasn’t a single ghostly shadow in the camp.
The old man looked terrified:
“Masters, you see, I didn’t lie to you, these people disappeared just like they were eaten by ghosts!”
Da Kui and Pan Zi checked around the camp and also showed expressions of shock and uncertainty:
“Yeah, it’s like the people in this camp suddenly vanished!”
“We checked, everything in the camp is intact, definitely not like they were attacked by people or beasts!”
Uncle Wu San was also somewhat shocked and uncertain.
They hadn’t even entered Lu Wang Palace yet, but discovered that an expedition team had gotten there first.
And this expedition team mysteriously disappeared after arriving here; this matter indeed seemed eerie.
Could there really be some evil ghost hiding near Lu Wang Palace?
Su Mo, however, was confident and just smiled faintly:
“Maybe they just found the ancient tomb entrance and went down; there are no large wild beasts in this mountain, so naturally no need to leave people to guard!”
Everyone thought this made sense upon hearing it, and their hearts finally relaxed a bit.
The old man was no longer useful after leading them here, and Su Mo and the others couldn’t really silence him, so they just let him go back.
Before leaving, Pan Zi grabbed the old man’s collar:
“You damn old man, you nearly got us killed in the waterway; if not for Third Master and Master Su being kind-hearted, I’d have killed you today!”
“Don’t talk nonsense when you go back, otherwise…”
Before he finished speaking, Pan Zi slashed his palm diagonally at a small tree nearby.
Crack!
This small tree, as thick as a bowl’s mouth, was directly chopped in half by his single palm.
Pan Zi was a retired soldier who had practiced a body of hard kung fu; this single-palm tree-chopping technique was no big deal for him, but it scared the old man pale, and he quickly promised profusely:
“Masters, rest assured, I absolutely won’t talk nonsense when I go back; if I say a single word, you can take my head!”
Pan Zi then let go of the old man and let him go back.
After seeing the old man leave, Uncle Wu San immediately sent Da Kui and Pan Zi to search the surroundings for tomb raiding holes.
But the two circled around a large area and found nothing, so they could only scratch their heads and run back helplessly.
Seeing this, Uncle Wu San couldn’t help but curse angrily:
“Useless bastards!”
After cursing, he could only have Da Kui and Pan Zi take out the Luoyang shovels and start taking soil near the camp to search for tombs.
The Wu family’s tomb-finding method involves taking soil from various places, then sniffing the scent of the grave soil to identify the exact location of the tomb.
This was a method passed down by Wu Lao Gou, nothing advanced, and quite laborious.
Although Su Mo had studied tomb raiding extensively in his previous life, this was his first time seeing a Luoyang shovel in this life, so he took it from Da Kui’s hand and examined it carefully.
As soon as he held the Luoyang shovel, he suddenly felt a flash of spiritual light piercing straight to the top of his head.
“You touched the Luoyang shovel and gained a flash of wisdom from tomb raiders of a thousand years; comprehended Dragon Seeking and Acupoint Finding Technique!”
Hearing the prompt in his ear, Su Mo couldn’t help but feel a surge of joy.
He never expected that just touching the Luoyang shovel would grant him a new enlightenment, and he had comprehended the Dragon Seeking and Acupoint Finding Technique from it!
This comprehension was truly heaven-defying!
As the prompt sound fell, a tide of knowledge instantly surged into Su Mo’s mind; the knowledge of Dragon Seeking and Acupoint Finding Technique from feng shui geomancy and mountain mover tomb raiding over thousands of years was imprinted deep in Su Mo’s brain along with this ocean-like influx of knowledge.
Meanwhile, Uncle Wu San saw Su Mo holding the Luoyang shovel silently and couldn’t help but feel puzzled.
He thought Su Mo was using the Luoyang shovel to find the Lu Wang Palace entrance, and his heart stirred.
Since ancient times, mountain movers appeared and disappeared like divine dragons; they naturally had their unique ways of finding ancient tombs.
Instead of blindly digging around like a blind cat, why not let Su Mo try to find it?
Thinking of this, Uncle Wu San immediately put on a smile:
“Master Su, can you spot where the ancient tomb entrance is?”
Su Mo knew Uncle Wu San was testing him.
But now that he had the Dragon Seeking and Acupoint Finding Technique ability, he naturally wasn’t afraid of Uncle Wu San’s test.
“I can try!”
After smiling faintly, Su Mo said, then cast his gaze nearby, his eyes following the mountain contours all the way, while muttering under his breath:
“Dragon seeking and acupoint finding looks at the winding mountains; one layer of winding is one barrier. If the water mouth has a thousand locks, riches and honor must be here…”
Having just comprehended the Dragon Seeking and Acupoint Finding Technique, as his eyes scanned the mountain contours, he couldn’t help but recite the incantation aloud.
Uncle Wu San listening nearby felt his heart jolt.
“Dragon Seeking and Gold Dividing Art!”
So this Master Su actually knew the Dragon Seeking and Gold Dividing Art too; no wonder he looked thoughtful holding the Luoyang shovel!
Truly worthy of being a Banshan Daoist; proficient in all mountain mover tomb raiding techniques!
Thinking of this, Uncle Wu San looked at Su Mo with even more admiration in his eyes; he stopped searching for tomb holes randomly and just stood by Su Mo watching him work.
Su Mo scanned the mountain contours once, then took the compass to divide gold and fix the position, quickly determining the direction, and tapped his toe at one spot:
“Start from here!”
Da Kui and Pan Zi were both stunned.
Master Su found the entrance so quickly?
Uncle Wu San, however, said without hesitation:
“Do as Master Su says!”
“Got it!”
Da Kui and Pan Zi immediately picked up the Luoyang shovels and took soil at the position Su Mo indicated, shoveling like lightning; in no time they had dug over two meters deep, and the shovel hit something hard like stone below, which was already the rammed earth layer.
Pulling out the shovel, the soil it brought up was bright red in color, as if soaked in fresh blood!
Uncle Wu San and the others were instantly overjoyed:
“It’s right here!”
“Master Su is awesome!”
“Soil with blood means it must be a grand tomb!”
Having found the ancient tomb’s location, the rest was much simpler.
Uncle Wu San then joined Da Kui and Pan Zi to work; first taking soil at several points, then quickly outlining the tomb’s general shape from the grave soil, and finally starting to dig a tomb raiding hole on one side of the tomb roof.
Da Kui and Pan Zi’s Luoyang shovels spun like flies, quickly digging a seven-to-eight-meter tomb raiding hole that led straight to one side of the tomb wall!
